With her mother absent Lamina is left in the care of her father and stepmother, which proves that presence doesn’t necessarily equate to better parenting. Though the odds are stacked against her, Lamina grinds her way into college, where she finds love where she least expects it. Zay Lovejoy is a star basketball player at University of Dallas, doing everything necessary to fulfill his dreams of being drafted into the NBA. With his career on track, along with his relationship, Zay has it all. That is until he meets Lamina, and it shows him that there is indeed something missing. Zay and Lamina fall for one another quickly. But with Zay’s past refusing to let go, will Lamina also beat the odds regarding love? Or will Zay walk away like everyone else in Lamina’s life? Find out in this standalone novel, One Love.
One Love was really a great love story! I wished I would had read this sooner. The story have gave me Cinderella vibes! The jealousy was was outrageous!
Really good read!!! Mina was the underdog in this story, being bullied by her father’s wife’s children (they don’t even deserve to be called step mother or step sisters). I was happy that Mina finally stood up for herself. Iyanna is the worst kind of person alive, her hatred for Mina left me shocked and upset. Now I did not expect throngs to change with her dad and I am happy for the changes ❤️. Now the man of the hour Zay, he came in and made things a lot to better for Mina and she couldn’t believe it because he was once attached to Iyanna. Little did Mina know there was more to come. Overall this is a new to me author and I am going down this authors whole catalog because I am invested in her writing.
This was a great read! So glad Lamina and Zayden found one another and got their HEA, Sharon got dealt with, Deitrick and Lakeasha reunited and Iyanna ended up bitter and alone! Just goes to show sometimes it does really work in your favor, it did for Lamina for sure!
