This book is a simple guide to connecting with different aspects of God's nature through exploring the names God uses to reveal Himself to His people. The book focuses on 19 names of God found in Scripture and how we can apply the truth of that name to our lives. It is not a commentary or a scriptural interpretative guide and should not be used as such. Rather, it is meant to get you to reflect on who God is in your life and whether or not you've truly grabbed hold of who God would like to be in your life. So many of our problems exist because we don't have a big enough view of God. If you really want to grow your faith, grow your view of God. Studying the names of God is but one way in which that growth can occur.
I think the primary value of this book is that it encourages you to ask whether or not you're allowing God to truly be God in your life, in all the various ways in which God would like to manifest Himself. We may do well in one area but not in another. We may have experienced God as Jehovah Jireh but not yet connected with God as Jehovah Rophe or Jehovah Rohi. Or, perhaps, we struggle with God as El Shaddai. Use this book to help you shed light on that next spiritual breakthrough you need in order to continue to grow your view of God.
