Lose yourself in a wildly passionate, swooningly romantic and enthralling joyride with the Rock Gods of Romance Boxed Set, which features NEW stories of all heat levels from NYT bestselling author Ava Lore and Marian Tee, USA Today bestselling author Liliana Rhodes, and Amazon bestselling authors Caitlyn Duffy, K.T. Fisher, and Mina V. Esguerra. With this collection, all your secret fantasies and daydreams will come to life in the arms of the sweetest and sexiest rock stars you'll ever find in romance novels.
Hometown Hook-Up by Caitlyn Duffy: Brice Norris' new-found fame as lead singer of the rock band Sigma is suffocating him when he returns to West Hollywood after the band's first world tour. He feels like he's being pulled in a million directions by managers and agents, and can't find a way to block out the trappings of fame--the girls who want to spend time with him, the cocktails, and the paparazzi--long enough to start working on the band's second album. On a spur-of-the-moment trip home to Massachusetts to visit his parents, his chance encounter with his former high school crush, Meredith, reignites not only his attraction to her, but his passion for music.
Record, Rewind by Ava Lore: The last person in the world Cassie Bell wants to see is Damien Colton, the lead singer of the blazing hot band, The Hollow Men, and her secret high school crush.
But when she and Damien meets at the hotel where she cleans rooms for a living, it seems fate has brought them back together. And when they find themselves locked in the hotel's rooftop, it seems fate likes to play a good prank.
Can Cassie ever overcome her shyness and confess to Damien the torch she's carried for years, or has time changed them both too dramatically for them to ever have a second chance?
Playing Autumn by Mina V. Esguerra: "Hot Piano Girl" Haley and rock star Oliver officially meet on a plane ride back to Houston, where they're both serving as mentors at a music festival for young artists. Unofficially? Haley has been a fan of Oliver's since she was ten (and he was twelve), when she saw him on a TV talent show. And Oliver's had her in his head since he saw her performing covers of his songs online. His career has hit rock bottom, and hers has stalled before even starting. Will an autumn weekend in their hometown give them exactly what they need?
The Ballad of Jude by Liliana Rhodes: Zoey Ackerman had no idea a summer job would lead to her helping create one of the biggest rock bands in the world. But when her boyfriend, Silverlight's drummer Jude Morrison goes on tour, can their love survive the temptations of sex, drugs and rock n roll?
The Rockstar I've Loved for So Long by Marian Tee: Dylan Charbonneau, the rockstar 18-year-old Bree Wyle has been in love with since forever, wants to belong to her. That should make her deliriously happy...if only he hasn't made clear he also belongs to the millions of girls who love him, too.
Heat by K.T. Fisher: When Lacey's best friend, Roxie takes her out for her birthday they meet two sexy men. Not knowing that they are rock stars. They end the night at the girls apartment, where Cole and Mason find out just how close the best friends can be. Lacey and Roxie have no idea the guys are in a famous rock band, they're just two gorgeous men to them. Even as Cole and Lacey find themselves drawn to each other, Cole doesn't want to tell Lacey that he's a rock star. Can Lacey be with Cole when she finds out the man she thought she was falling for has been lying to her all along?

Rock Gods of Romance Box Set (6 Book Rock Star Bundle) is a bundle of books that feature authors Liliana Rhodes, Marian Tee, Ava Lore, Caitlyn Duffy, Mina V. Esguerra, and K.T. Fisher. I have read many of the authors listed above, however I have only read Marian Tee’s piece in the bundle so far. However I felt I needed to write this review just to let you know that “The Rockstar I’ve Loves for So Long” is well worth the current price by itself. So you will totally be making out like a bandit with a purchase of the bundle.
Once Author Marian Tee has blown me away with her amazing writing. “The Rockstar I've Loved for So Long” is one amazing read. I can honestly say that there are few authors that make me relate to book characters the way she does. Dylan and Bree are such different people, however they come together in such a way that I was crying and laughing. I started the book early morning and had to stop and go to an appointment, but I could not stop thinking about what would be next in the book. When I got home the first thing I did was pick up the book again to find out what was gonna happen. I laughed, I cried, and just wanted more. This book totally rocked my world. I cannot wait to read the next. Author Marian Tee is a wicked awesome writer and I really love all her books; however this one has become one of my top five. I will be recommending this book and all of those in the bundle to readers. I can say that just this one story is worth the cost. I know I loved it and I totally believe other readers will too. This and all the books written by Marian Tee are well worth the money since she takes me on a roller coaster of emotions that are wicked hot and so in touch with my inner soul.
My 4 stars rating is based on how I liked the complete box set. But I have another rating for each story in the bundle.
I don't have anything for the first story Hometown Hook-Up by Caitlyn Duffy. The writing was nice, but the story isn't for me so I didn't even bother reading it to the end.
-The second story: Record, Rewind by Ava Lore, was fine. But I'll give it 2 stars. I read it all the way to the end, but the main characters annoyed me. The sexual tension was great, but that's about it. They smoked too much!
- The third story Playing Autumn by Mina V. Esguerra, is a 5 stars. This story is easy to follow. Sweet heroine and easy to relate. The relationships between the protagonists were carefully developed and sweep me into their reality. Best of Mina in my opinion.
-5 stars for The ballad of Jude by Liliana Rhodes! The story is amazing, narration is perfect making me feel that I was virtually there watching Jude play the first time Zoey saw him in the club. I was truly excited. I also like how open the book is, saying the word as it is without being censored. I don’t know about anyone else, but even if it’s not the happily ever after that I was expecting in the beginning I was completely satisfied because after Sade declared “I’m in love with your girlfriend” I can’t help but cheered him on from that point forward. Overall love this story and I would love to read Cade’s love story too.
-The Rockstar I've Loved for So Long by Marian Tee, 4 stars. I love Bree, she's so admirable and I tears up when she offered her hands to Dylan and understand his intention instead of getting hysterical. The sex scene was great in this story but I know from experience that having a man penetrates too deep would no longer be pleasurable, instead it’s painfully tormenting. So, even if it’s just an innocent wish from Bree’s mind, about Dylan reaches her womb, it made me lose a bit of my enjoyment. I actually cringed. But nevertheless the story sweet and I enjoyed reading most of the scenes, and the excerpt for The Rockstar I Never Know sound so inviting! I’m looking forward reading it.
-Heat by K.T. Fisher: I’m rating this story 1 star, not because the story was bad or that it involve f/f, orgy and a very hardcore sexual description. I gave it two stars because after they had the orgy which Cole already come, he come yet again when they was alone and again in the day. And aside from what’s mentioned above, it’s also very tiring to read over and over how fucking sexy, beautiful, handsome, they are. This book make Bella Swan’s constant reminder of how gorgeous and perfect Edward a lot less bothering.
I bought a copy of the six-book Rock Gods of Romance ebook bundle from Amazon primarily because I wanted to read Playing Autumn by Mina Esguerra (only $0.99 for a limited time!). Since I've only read hers for now, that's what I'm going to be reviewing for today.
Playing Autumn has got me giddy! I'm not the type who has been obsessed with an actor/boy band/singer growing up, so I wasn't able to relate to Haley Reese. However, I did have a pretty huge crush on a schoolmate (you know the drill: you become better at finding out things about the person than the local police can, obsessively finding out his schedule, trying to bump into him, joining the orgs he's in, stalking said crush's crushes to find out if you have a chance - I didn't - and trying to befriend him, etc. What, you didn't do that? You must be some kind of kook, aren't you? Kidding :p) So, you know, it's one of those books that aptly deserves hashtag #GivesMeHope.
In true Mina V. Esguerra style, I got to know Haley and Oliver pretty well. Even secondary character, best friend Victoria sounded pretty awesome to me already. If Mina writes a sequel (and I sure hope she does!), I hope it will be about Victoria, because I think she deserves her own story and hopefully a happy ending :)
Short story is short so the plot was fast-paced. The only thing I didn't like is that Oliver suddenly felt like he was in love with Haley. But that's more of a personal preference for me than Mina's lack of explaining their feelings. I just don't subscribe to the idea of insta-love. Or maybe it really happens, you know? Meeting someone and in that moment, there's magic, and you know you just have to be with him. I wouldn't know, I haven't experienced that yet, I think.
Playing Autumn gives the idea that someday, your dreams just might come true. It might be your dream of making a name for yourself, or a dream of learning a new skill, or fulfilling some of those high school dreams, or it could be as exhilarating as finally getting that one boy you've been so gaga for to finally fall for you. It was a good novella to get those kilig feelings again -- something that is in darn short supply at the moment. And sometimes, being reminded of the hope that that dream might come true is a really good reason to read a particular book.
I was provided an ARC of one of the books but as I love Rockstar romances I bought the bundle. Here are the reviews for each individual books and my individual ratings. I thoroughly enjoyed the collection and doubt you'd regret one-clicking!
Hometown Hookup by Caitlyn Duffy – 3 Stars I was really starting to get into this book and turned the page for the next chapter and. . . it had finished. I’m not sure if this is the end of the story or if it is going to be the beginning of a series but I was really disappointed that it just stopped. There was no romance as such in the book, just a kiss and a fumble in the back of a car. The story had so much potential with a newfound rock star going back to his hometown and reconnecting with his high school crush, who also happens to be 5years older than him and a friend of his sister but the story never really got going. Potential that never got going.
Record, Rewind by Ava Lore – 5 Stars What would you do if the guy you fancied in high school walks into the elevator you are on and your life is one big failure? Well that is what happens to Cassie when Damien Colton walks into the elevator she is on! But what then happens when that rock star admits to having had a high school crush on you too!? The answer is some hot, and I mean hot, scenes!! Love the book and the fact that it has an ending such as it has really worked with the rest of the contents of the book. This is a seriously hot read.
Playing Autumn by Mina V Esguerra – 5 stars What happens when a rock star is all washed up? What happens when, after years of having a huge fan crush, you meet the man of your fantasies? Read this to find out! Oliver has been in the spotlight for most of his life but he has now been dropped by his record label, is about to be evicted by his landlord and just doesn’t get what he needs to do to make himself ‘current’ and maintain his . . . dignity, integrity, you name it!!Well having a quirk, not a phobia, about traveling with someone he doesn’t know leads him to meeting Haley. It just turns out they were destined to meet, Haley’s friend sooo did not have a hand in engineering that!, but what will happen after that weekend? A fun book, with characters that were likeable and down to earth, a nice book to curl up with.
The Ballad of Jude by Liliana Rhodes – 4 Stars I’m not sure why but this story just didn’t ‘do it’ for me like the others have done. It is a good book, a great one probably, but it just wasn’t for me like the others were. This is a follow up story, of sorts, to the book, Lucky Break. It is more of a back story to Jude Morrison, the lead male in that book. It is all about hi first real love and how his band, Silverlight, came to be. It just so happens that the woman who helped them get together is also his first love. Unlike other romances there is no happily ever after for Jude and Zoey as Jude already has his happily ever after with Olivia from Luck Break, although maybe she gets her happy ending in the second book of the series for the guys from the band. Will Cade get the girl he has loved for 15years? I’ve no idea as there is no blurb but I sure hope so!
The Rockstar I’ve Loved For So Long by Marian Tee – 5 Stars This was the book I received an ARC of. Despite the fact that I may well be biased this has got to be one of the best, if not the best, of the collection. Sabrina years ago met and fell in love with Dylan but for various reasons, her being too young and problems that I will not go into in his past, he does not make a move on her despite having loved her for a long time. This changes and through various problems they come out at the end with a HAE. However although the ending of the book can be a full stop there is going to be a further story called The Rockstar I Never Knew in 2014. I do not feel that you will need to read this though if you do not want to in order to get a conclusion to the series.
Heat by K.T. Fisher – 5 stars Ermmm, what can I say about this book other than wow, where is the fan, I need cooing down!! I was a bit dubious about the story at first thinking it was going to be all about 2 girls and 2 rock stars getting it together, and by together, I mean all four of them, together. . . I was so glad that it didn’t end up being the case, yes that part was HOT but I do love a good story about a guy falling for a girl. This story was all about Cole, a typical rock star, meeting Lacey at a club with her having no idea as to who he or his brother are. After 2 months together she still has no idea so what happens when she finds out?!
The last two have got to be my favourites of the group and I cannot believe that I got all of this for such a bargain price, the last couple could have charged that and more for the stories and I would have been a happy lady! If you want a collection of books about rock stars of all different attitudes then here is the collection that is just perfect for you. Go on, give it a go, I did!!!
I don’t have to stress the obvious that I was desperate to get my hands on this book immediately. When I read the synopsis of Playing Autumn from Ms. Mina’s site, I know that I wouldn’t rest until it’s safely tucked in my e-reader. I am not big on music but the title and synopsis gave me an impression of something poignant and of better times. I was reminded of comfort even if “autumn” symbolizes melancholy. Yeah, I am crazy that way.
Set in the USA, Playing Autumn started with Haley meeting her all time music idol, Oliver Cabrera, at the airport. Though she constantly reminded herself that she had already moved on from her fangirling days, she can’t deny the weird feelings that Oliver is stirring in her. Eventually, everything just went crazy between the two of them when they spent a week mentoring the participants of the Breathe Music Festival.
Playing Autumn’s first impression on me certainly lasted. It’s heartwarming with a dash of humor and melodic feel. For a very short novella (89 pages), it gracefully managed to deliver what it’s meant to deliver. The characters immediately stood out to me. Oliver is not the typical rockstar book hero who has everything. On the contrary, his career has gone downhill and his landlord is already shooing him out of his apartment. What I love about him is that he remained cool despite the circumstances. He didn’t wallow in self-pity nor drowned himself in booze. He didn’t hide in his apartment like a cry baby nor pulled crazy stunts just to create publicity so his fame would be restored. He just tried to move on. Meanwhile, Haley is your average fangirl who preferred sharing her musical talent instead of harnessing it to become someone like Oliver. She’s contented staying on the sideline mentoring the youth. One of her traits that really made an impact on me is that she knows what she wants and she will not be ashamed in getting it like having a one week fling with Oliver.
The romance in this novella is sort of instalovey but it was beautifully crafted. And I don’t think I would be really critical about it since the story is very short. What I can assure you is that it was conceivable given that weeklong flings are actually happening in real life. And it’s not the only thing that drove the plot forward.
Ms. Mina’s talent to create stories that are interlaced with meaningful life lessons is simply admirable. Playing Autumn does not only revolve around the steamy romance between Oliver and Haley. It’s also about facing your failures and learning from them, and stepping up to brand new challenges.
Playing Autumn ended with a bang. I couldn’t believe that a book so short managed to merge lovable characters, a plot that draws you in, a swoon worthy romance while tying it all up with a few potent sentences. This book alone made buying Rock Gods of Romance worth it.
Note: Sorry for the typos. I am so sleepy right now. I had a very crazy week.
The Rockstar I've loved for so long- 0 stars. Nope. I just can't. 71 pages of nightmare.
Great Bundle for a Great Price! All the stories in this bundle were very good, I had only read other books by Liliana Rhodes but I enjoyed all the stories.
Hometown Hook-Up by Caitlyn Duffy: This was a very cute story about a childhood crush finally getting a chance. I loved both Brice and Meredith, I just wish the author would have wrote more. The book just ends with no resolution. I hope she plans another book so we can see how this ends.
Record, Rewind by Ava Lore: Loved this one from the start, well written with great characters! This one was also about a high school crush!
Playing Autumn by Mina V. Esguerra: Very sweet story about a rockstar who has lost his way, in walks Haley AKA Hot Piano Girl, they have a great weekend together. Will love blossom or was it just a hot weekend?
The Ballad of Jude by Liliana Rhodes: This is a prequel to Lucky Break and I loved the story, this one is about Jude's 1st love and the beginning of his band Silverlight. Great story great characters and I can't wait for the next installment in this new series!
The Rockstar I've Loved for So Long by Marian Tee: What's not to love is this one, you've got the bad boy Rock Star and the girl who has loved him forever? While I really liked this story I felt that Bree was a bit of a well a doormat to Dylan's bad boy ways and he treated her horribly and she kept coming back for more! Thankfully Dylan grows a brain and I will be very interested to see where these 2 go in the next installment of this book.
Heat by K.T. Fisher: Loved this story, Cole and Mason amazing rock god bad boys but well Cole was a silly man who almost lost something really special! Great ending, hope we get more to this story in the future!
This collection of rock star-themed romances started strong and then sputtered out. Reading this brought home that there's a romance trope/type for every girl: some like ones that end in wedding bells and professions in forever, some like ones that focus on the chase, still others dig that unrequited thing. Here's a quick review of each story in the bundle.
Hometown Hookup (4stars) - The best-written of the bunch. It just felt real and plausible, from a rock star dealing with fame for the first time to the mouthy Boston family that reminded me a lot of the sisters in The Fighter. Some people complained of the open-ended conclusion, but I thought it was perfect.
Record, Rewind (5) - Absolutely my favorite! This was sexy, laugh-out-loud funny, had a tinge of pathos and the best, simplest premise too: What would you do if you were trapped with your favorite rock star? I'll be looking at more stories from Ava Lore for my romance fix after this!
Playing Autumn (4) - Sweet, smart and gentle -- a pleasant story of a rock star who's surprisingly well-adjusted to his downward spiral.
The Ballad of Jude (1) - An OK, slightly believable premise bogged down by clumsy writing and clunky dialogue. Probably would have liked this more if I read Lucky Break, of which this is a sort of prequel.
The Rockstar I've Loved for So Long (1) - Reminded me so much of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Heat (2) - Hooks you in with smut and ends up as chick lit. Not the best-written thing but it's unabashed with its purpose and accomplishes it very well.
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review…
The Rockstar I’ve Loved for So Long by Marian Tee
POV: Multiple Series: Book 1 of 2 Cliffhanger: No
Dylan and Bree… they are so perfect for each other. Dylan Charbonneau is the typical rockstar with a trouble past and Bree is calm in the storm. She gives him everything he needs to stay sane, but he holds himself back from her emotionally because he believes she deserves better.
Sabrina “Bree” Wyle fell in love with Dylan when she was 14 years old at his concert. It was love at first…sound for Bree and she never left his side from the moment they met.
They had many ups and downs in their relationship, but managed to stay together as friends. Now four years later, Bree is graduating high school as well as getting ready to attend college and she wants Dylan there, but he doesn’t show. After the ceremony, Bree receives news of Dylan’s sex tape and decides she can be his little pet anymore and stops all contact with him.
Dylan starts heavily drinking and wallowing because he’s lost Bree the only woman he’s ever loved. After some quick thinking from his cousin, Dylan and Bree are able to reconcile their friendship and create a real relationship. But Dylan is still tormented by his past and he doesn’t know how to love Bree properly. Can he get over his childhood trauma before he loses Bree? Can Bree handle being the girlfriend of a rockstar with a troubled past?
Can’t wait for The Rockstar I Never Knew to be released next year!
For some reason I am obsessed with Rock Star romances at the moment and was thrilled to find another box set.
Record,Rewind - Ava Lore. Loved the start of this book, Cassie/Lauren is a brilliant character and being stuck with a Rock Star who also happens to be her old high school crush Damien. I just wished the story was longer.
Playing Autumn - Mina V Esguerra. Haley has gone to be a music mentor and shares a car from the airport with Oliver a washed up star who she used to have a crush on. It was and ok read but I found it hard going.
A Ballad of Jude - Liliana Rhodes. Loved this book. I'd recently read Lucky Break and had already fallen in love with the character Jude finding out more of his back story answered a lot of questions. Brilliant read.
The Rockstar I have loved for so long - Marian Tee. I found this story creepy. Bree met a Rock Star that she adored when she was 14, the Rockstar Dylan stayed in contact with her. To me the relationship seemed wildly inappropriate for a vulnerable girl.
Heat - K T Fisher. Already a fan of K T Fisher I was very happy to find this in the bundle. Two friends encounter two handsome brothers on a night out and wind up hooking up. A secret threatens to cause problems three months later. Loved the characters and loved the story.
A great box set well worth a read especially because it is a steal at the moment.
I got an ARC from Marian Tee for "The Rockstar I've Loved for So Long" in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed and laughed and cried and LOVED this book. It helps that there wasn't a cliffhanger because it ended on a happy, satisfied note. Marian Tee always finds up different scenarios ('fess up, Tee, you have book elves helping you out, don't you?) to keep you entertained, and she has the ability to make you cry right along with the character and experience what she does throughout the book.
I'll try not to spoil it (I do that somewhere else) but there's a lot of good-written drama that gets your tearducts running overtime. And there's sex to warm you up in these cold, cold days. And it's funny! That's always a great thing: funny, romantic, dramatic, suspenseful stories. ^-^
I recommennnnnnddddddd. And again, it's only 0.99 in a 6-book bundle! That's a steal. (HA, 'steal', like Saffi's big brother, Steel.... *cough*)
Happy Reading :)
PS- You'd be happier if you bought it :P Just a friendly suggestion...
What isnt there to love about a top collection of Rockstar romances! right now they are only 77p on amazon UK for the bundle! that's a bargain for a selection of very good reads. All have their own story line, all very different, but all based on some very hot dreamy rock stars!! you'll just fall in love with them <3 The benefit with bundles lik this is, you can read them all, and then pick your favourite, and purchase the sequel books releases. All very good reads and worth the price!
The Rockstar I've Loved for So Long - by Marion Tee
Experiencing Dylan's emotionally paralyzing fear of genetically carrying on the legacy of mental illness from his parents and Bree's strength to make the relationship work was enthralling. The love was strong and the sex hot. I am very much looking forward to future installments.
* I received an ARC of this book for an honest review*
I couldn't give it four stars. I like a couple of the stories, one of them I just didn't like what so very that I hated it and couldn't understand the point when they don't end up together. If you read this or have red it you"ll understand what I mean. I like forcing my opinion on people so I won't say which story it was.
All 6 stories were good and short. What that's saying 'sweets but short'! They each held their own drama, angst, love and so forth. The Rock star I’ve Loved for So Long was by far my favorite. It had a touch of everything in it. I was surprised by all of the stories. They were better than I thought they would be. I do recommend to everyone.
Great stories, and a great way to find new authors. Every story was relatable, the characters fantastic, and a most enjoyable read. I think we have all had a crush on a bad boy or rock star - hell I still do it now!
