Anne Kaneko, born 1950 in Lancashire, raised in Yorkshire, at the age of 18 entered the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London to study Japanese. From there to Tokyo and an eventful life in Japan. Widowed at 38, she has had a varied career - translator, interpreter, author, CEO of the family packaging business, blogger from Fukushima.
