ASHLEY ANTOINETTE COLEMAN is one of the most successful female writers of her time. The feminine half of the popular married duo, Ashley and JaQuavis, she has co-written over 40 novels, including the bestselling Cartel series. Several of her titles have hit The New York Times bestsellers list, but she is most widely regarded for her continuing racy saga, The Prada Plan. Born in Flint, MI, she was bred with an innate street sense that she uses as motivation in her crime filled writings.
Picking up a deal with publishing powerhouse St. Martin's Press while simultaneously inking deals at Warner Brothers Studios and NBC/Universal, Ashley shows no signs of slowing down. She is currently hard at work on a new book series and two television pilots.

This was a quick read but good read. I enjoyed each character that was introduced in the book. I plan to finish the series. But Rain just like a nigah!!! Now you need her when you was just about to leave her!! Rain a bad ass tho!!
First off, I don't understand why all the reviewers are mad when the title clearly says "INTRODUCTION" and Amazon lets you know that it's estimated to 21 pages. Complaining about it being short is totally irrelevant when you're being told that it is short. However, I do agree that since it's an intro to a series and so short that A&J should've gave it away for free (permanently and not for the limited time that I got my copy) to let people decide if this is for them. The short story is what it is. It's cool and I'm intrigued to find out what happens next.
This intro was a great way to get readers into the series. [Ranting follows]:
What I didn’t enjoy is the dark skinned woman of the gang portrayed stereotypically:
She was described as “the loud one of the bunch”, “loved to get the drama poppin”, “nymphomaniac, “a real bitch” (used to describe her as rude) and had hair and smooth skin “attractive to most men”.
But the light skinned woman: “had attractive features” and “wore green contacts which only added to her natural beauty”.
There’s an annoying trend in urban fiction/street lit where dark skinned women are almost always written as loud, ghetto, aggressive and hyper-sexual—And it’s one of the reasons I don’t read this genre often.
This was a nice intro to what hopefully amounts to a dope series. In this book we meet David, Autumn, Rain and Fallen… the Porter Siblings. It was retirement day for them, and they were set to dip out of Baltimore and leave a life of crime behind by leaving the states completely. Things didn’t go as planned, and they quickly found that it was time to put a plan in action. I really enjoyed this intro. It appears to be 3 other books in this series, and I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
Title: The Circle | The Beginning Author: Ashley & Jaquavis Genre: Urban Lit Audible: 45 Minutes Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a five book series written by five different authors. In this first book we are introduced to the four Porters siblings. Fallon, Autumn, and the twins Rain & Dayvid. A family of career criminals. Their specialties are bank robberies & heist. This was a good read. I’m looking forward to reading each book that gives each sibling’s account of what transpired the day they tried to exit the game & go into retirement.
The Circle The Beginning written by Ashley & JaQuavis Coleman An introduction of the Porter family siblings. Twins Rain and Dayvid, Fallon and Autumn. They were raised by their aunt who taught them how to be the best group of bank robbers. I’m excited to get to know Dayvid, Rain,Autumn and Fallon. This book is 45 minutes of getting to know the porter kids. It was well worth it.
I love the introduction of all of the characters! I like how you get a quick back story to let you know who they are as individuals as well as a family. I like how you don't have to wait to get half way through the book before the action jumps off. I think this introduction is the beginning of Something good for The Circle about to read book 1!
This is some BS! I do not like how I have gotten myself invested in reading this exciting ,thrilling book with these extremely violent characters and the story ends with no real ending, just leaving the reader unsatisfied! What a neat trick? This is really devastating that now the reader has to be subjected to craving for the rest of the book!
Really wish I could have read this instead of listening to the audiobook.. I am not a fan of audiobooks!! But it was short and sweet, I wish they would have continued with the story rather than make a part 2 with a completely different author.. but oh well! Listening to the audiobook was definitely entertaining though, hearing hood terms spoken out loud. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting!
Absolutely phenomenal read !!! Or in other words … this that real street shit right here. Real life gangsta shit that you might only see in a movie. If it were real life, they’d be top criminals. I listened to the audiobook all the way through. I ended up finding out it’s a series. So I’m onto book number 2
How the hell is this receiving 4.something. Not a single character has a redeeming quality, I don’t mind the word “nigga” in literature but this was just for shock value which is the wrong reason, the sex scene is just unsexy, and it is so unlikely it’s laughable. It’s short is the only redeeming value so I’ll continue the series. Especially since the others are by different authors.
I liked it.. left me hanging I was waiting for more soo it definitely had me hooked and wanting more. I'm ready for the next book! - thanks charlagmane for having her on and shouting her out. I really enjoyed the book. A bit of crime and family loyalty.
I chose 5 stars because they ending left me sitting on the edge of my seat wanting more. I hope the next part is just as good. If I could give more stars i would.
