Before making my own laundry detergent I was a "Brand Snob" always paying full-price for the leading detergent and its swirling bright box.Until one day I turned the box over to find out what ingredients went into making the leading detergent. All it said were Surfactants (artificial soap) and Enzymes (helps break down dirt and starches) without listing any other ingredients. The box containing the washing detergent was made from 100% recyclable material, but no in-depth listing of ingredients. It bothered me not knowing what went into making the product, so with a little research and an empty milk gallon as my container (100% recyclable, straight from my fridge) I started making my own detergent. This simple, show me how and to the point book teaches you the steps and ingredients (nothing is hidden) to make your own laundry detergent that saves you money, while being just as effective as leading detergents. Why pay .35 to .50 per load of laundry with leading brands, when you can pay just .03 to .05 cents with your homemade laundry detergent?
