"Here you go, sir... Sir?"

I look up to find an air hostess trying to hand me a piece of paper. Some kind of immigration form one needs to fill out before entering the country. Thanking her, I take it and the small disposable ballpoint pen with the airline logo on it. She pauses a moment, checking out the picture on my phone which had me completely mesmerised only seconds earlier.

"Your wife?" the air hostess asks.

"Girlfriend." I look at the screen again, enjoying the little surge of excitement I feel inside whenever I see her photograph.

"She's so pretty."

"A few hours from now, she will be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen."

Putting the phone away, I focus my attention on the UK Border Agency Landing Card in front of me. Shit is about to get real.

Could you love someone you've never met? At First Sight explores - in multiple points of view - the test that any serious online relationship must go through: the meeting. For Alice and Scott, this moment of truth is to take place at the airport. It seems so simple, he'll fly in on Christmas Day, she'll pick him up, they live happily ever after. Is that all there is to it?
If you love the TV Show Catfish, you'll enjoy this story.

Currently publishes under L. Moone.

L. Moone is a Contemporary Romance and Women's Fiction writer based in rainy England. Addicted to caffeine, chocolate and impure thoughts, she likes to write short stories and novellas dealing with those aspects of the human condition that we all think about, yet dare not discuss openly.

L. Moone - Happy Endings for Underdogs

I first started writing and publishing in 2012 because I craved to see more of "my kind of books" on the shelves. In any scenario, you'll find me rooting for the underdog. The (emotionally) scarred hero who hasn't really had much (or any) luck in love. The shy office worker who wants to pursue the man of her dreams, but hasn't quite mustered the courage yet. All my characters are beautifully flawed and messed up, in a way that makes them perfect for one another.

By the way, since 2015, I also started to write Paranormal and Fantasy Romance as Lorelei Moone. Take a moment to browse all my books, because there's bound to be something you'll enjoy.

L. Moone used to publish under the pen name "Hedonist Six" before 2019. Older titles are likely still showing up under this old pen name.

The plot was too far-fetched, but acceptable somehow. I personally don't believe in “online love”, so I must admit I couldn't quite connect with these two main characters and didn't get why they’d felt so strongly in love with each other even though they’d never met before. However, there were some sweet moments that made the novella itself worth reading, and the ending was beautiful I couldn’t complain.

This was a very interesting book. It reminds me of my relationship with my boyfriend, but we both Americans. I enjoyed the book and glad they finally got together. It's true Love at the first Sight. I intend to read more of the books from Hedonist Six in the future.

This is a short story about two people who met online and are meeting in person for the first time. I enjoyed it and I liked how it switched back and forth between his POV and hers, but I didn't like how the same tense wasn't kept throughout the story ("I" for Scott and "Her" for Alice). I also noticed a handful of grammatical errors that should have been caught in the editing process. Minus one star for those things, but otherwise, it was a quick, sweet read.

A free copy was provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

It is a very sweet, short read. Takes place over few hours waiting for two people who have been online dating to find each other for the first time. I loved that is switched viewpoints so that I could see what both were thinking and feeling.

This was a really nice short love story that seems to have a happy ending, although it does sort of leaving you hoping!! It was funny and worrisome that Scott would even be allowed into the UK.!!!! You really should read this light and amusing story !!!!
Thank you for sharing...Kathy

5 stars!!! Short but is packed with so much action, emotion, and love. The shifts in POVs between Alice and Scott were done seamlessly. At First Sight is a freebie, but I'd pay if Hedonist Six makes it a full-length novel. This is incredibly well-written. 👍🏼👍🏼
