Great information and recipes
This book had a lot of good practical information. My favorite part was the recipes. Every recipe in this book or something that I would make... I'm not sure if I've ever said that before.
One thing I'd like to see changed is the author continually mentions using starter culture as an option and never tells us how much starting culture to use.
Muscle still not sure if doing something like kefir ( milk or water I do both) if I should use the grains or the separated part of the kefir.

August 20, 2023Rashelle Johnson explains home fermenting in easy-to-understand language. I recently bought a glass gallon jug with an airlock system and was looking for recipes. This is the second book on this subject I've read recently. Gut health is the latest buzzphrase in health circles.
An extensive question-and-answer section clarifies points and offers tips for successful fermenting. I am looking forward to trying some of the author's recipes -- they sound great.

Good book with a few recipes included.
ALthough this book is not lengthy it contains a wealth of information in a very easy to understand format. I especially liked the way that it explained problems to look out for. The recipe directions were easy to follow and my family enjoyed them. This book is well worth the investment.

What a find!
I was browsing for a book on fermenting and came across this little gem. The recipes are straight forward and simple. Johnson explains the fermentation process in a easy to understand way. Highly recommended. After reading it for free I decided to buy a copy - it is that good!

Easy to follow
Good intro (I’ve previously made sauerkraut) and the recipes look interesting.
Note measurements/ingredients are American so “cups” etc. but not a problem.

Informative
kindle lender free: worth reading information at beginning for basics because I'm a newb at this. FAQS at the end really helpful and delicious, well explained recipes in the middle that are basic and then even a little bit more involved recipes. remember I've never done this before so I'm learning basics! worth reading

Fairly good beginner-level book on vegetable fermentation. I found it more informative and better presented than 'Fermenting Milk Kefir' by the same author. Offers a number of interesting recipes also.

Whether you want to preserve your home-grown produce or exercise more control over what you're putting into your body (i.e. not buying store bought fermented foods) then this book will help you pull it off. Fermenting is not as complicated as you might think, so give it a shot.
