BELLE is a whizz on computers. She spends so much time on the internet that the glorious summer holidays are passing her by. When Belle and her brother discover a spy satellite on the roof of their shed, Belle has to find a way to use her skills in the real world and fast. Belle's Dad is inventing something exciting. But what is it? Dad is very secretive and won't even tell his own children. But his hand is forced and he has to ask the kids for help. This is just the start of Belle's thrilling and thoroughly modern adventure.
Summer of Spies is SO COOL! I was just looking around for a good and realistic spy book when I found this. I don't remember if u need kindle unlimited so you'll just have to look. Last thing is I HIGHLY recommend this book cause its just so EPIC!!!!!
"Summer of Spies" reminded me of the adventure stories I used to read as a kid. It's a thoroughly modern setting -- with Facebook, Facetime, and the internet. There is even such a severe petrol shortage that no one can afford to run their cars, which made me wonder if it's supposed to take place in the future. However, there is kind of an old-fashioned feel to it. There is a complete family unit -- with an inventor dad and working mom and siblings who all get along amazingly well. There are fun neighborhood friends. Maybe it's those things that made it feel like a throwback to simpler times. However, the author promises an adventure -- with spies, no less. And, that's what you get. It turns out that Dad is working on a breakthrough invention -- and certain people want to get their hands on it. If that means kidnapping good ole Dad, then so be it. Of course, Belle and her siblings don't take very kindly to anyone pinching their dad, so they go to his rescue.
There's excitement a-plenty for the kiddos -- and a bit of danger -- but nothing too harrowing. I think kids aged 8 - 11 would enjoy reading this book. (Note: I downloaded this book for free as part of a giveaway.)
Isabelle Bright and her twin brother and sister, Moz and Alice, are home for summer vacation. Expecting a boring summer, the three find themselves in the middle of a mystery that involves their dad and a secret he is working on in their very own back yard. This book is fun for readers of really all ages as they find mystery, suspense and a bit of conspiracy in a young adult read.
I read this to my children, and there were lots of laughs along the way. Different parts of the story appealed to my children in different ways, so although there is a small age gap they both managed to sit, listen and enjoy this book. I'm not sure my children would have read this themselves, but they really enjoyed listening to this story.
The whole story got me thinking about if we could not use cars then bikes would be the next option. This book was so hooking dont leave it on a book shelf!!
It was so tense at some points, but overall, I think that the book is great and the children are very adventurous. I wish I could read it again and again. The characters were detailed very nicely. So was the speech It sounds like there might be a second book. I love how great the author can quickly come up with what we MAY be able to make a nuclear cell in real life. It's very inspiring about how we can help the environment and that everyone can help.
I recommend this book to people that like reading adventurous books because this book is about a girl seeking out what her dad is up to, and found out that he invented a car...

Isabelle Bright (Belle for short) is an eleven-year-old girl who loves spending time on her computer, which is keeping her from enjoying her summer vacation. That is until Belle and her brother Moz spy a satellite on their shed’s roof. Belle puts her techie skills to work and leads the family on a magical adventure.
This story is told in first person, present tense, which I usually dislike. But since this is a children’s book and a strong sense of action is ideal here, it works. As I’ve stated many times in the past, I love books that place female characters at the center of a story and this one does that nicely. Belle is an extremely likable, strong character.
The plot is full of up-to-date techie matter, which will be easily relatable to today’s tech-savvy kids. The vocabulary is perfect for the intended age group and includes a nice mix of easy and challenging words for children to learn. Some important environmental lessons are included here as well. Highly recommended!

I don’t know what to say... I found it chaotic. Too many characters at once. The story was wired, I didn’t believe it. 2 stars is for time the author needs to put into this book.
I am working on writing a book for children ages 8 to 12. I thought I should read something in comparison. What a joy that I picked up this book. I loved every minute of it. I know my grandchildren will too!
I love it this book was amazing it only took me two days only to read it all it was interesting and had so many parts that show that kids can be spies as well and can save the day not just adults and I have generating because the Author should be proud
I loved it because there were loads of unexpected turns and full of surprises. There was one thing I didn’t like about the book it that there where no pictures
