Have you ever had the proper coffee experience? Dr. David Powers, a coffee connoisseur, shows how persons can take a few minutes of their time to turn coffee drinking into pleasurable adventures. His book, 51 Tips, Tricks and Ideas for Enjoying Coffee Better, is for people who cannot resist the aroma or flavour of this reviving beverage. Dr. Powers states that “coffee is a beverage that demands an experience because it is a beverage that has worked hard to get to you in a state that allows you to dictate how you enjoy it.” He encourages readers to take coffee tours, host coffee parties to share and learn the many benefits of the beverage, and even subscribe to a coffee magazine. Another thing he encourages is recycling coffee grounds by creating a backyard compost. The doctor strongly disapproves of instant coffee, but suggests people should have cups of this for comparison to better appreciate freshly perked brews.
While I agree that ground coffee is preferable to instant, I disagree with the author on a few of his tips, such as coffee should only be sipped black, because I prefer my drink with creamer. There are a few ideas that readers will find debatable while others are useful ones. The book also includes websites where readers can learn more about this remarkable drink, as well as a few food outlets that serve the best and worst coffees. 51 Tips, Tricks and Ideas for Enjoying Coffee Better is an interesting guide by Dr. David Powers.
