There's a decent plot in here, albeit one that would have needed far more space and subtlety to develop into the thrilling pageturner it aimed to be. But the writing... oh, the writing. Stilted and in need of practice is about the most charitable description I can come up with. Decent editing wouldn't hurt either.

This is a story that has a strong female detective in them. Detective Miranda Murphy is the main character. The stories will keep you reading just to find out what happens next. Very good in my opinion.

Detective Miranda Murphy is the lead investigator of the murder of Jeff Hackett a man found murdered in a multimillionaire’s son’s home. It looks like the crime was by a hitman but Miranda uncovers a ploy of $4 million dollars missing. Miranda puts her life on the line to bring the conspirators to justice. I really enjoyed this great crime thriller fiction novel. I received this free e-book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I enjoyed Detective Miranda and trying to figure out the murder mystery and did stick it out until the end, but.............. I did have difficulty the entire book with he, him, his pronouns when referring to Miranda. I had to keep rereading to be sure I was understanding what was going on correctly.

Okay read

The story itself was interesting with numerous twists and turns. Unfortunately, I felt the reading was very stilted and had trouble finishing it. Definitely disappointed since other books of the writer have been much better.
