Cook County forensic pathologist, Dr. Claire O'Shaunessy is an advocate for her patients, even if they are all dead. When the body of an unknown male discovered behind Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry is linked to the remains of her childhood friend recently discovered in a rural cemetery, Claire is driven to solve these two murders. Although the blood of her police family lineage runs deep, her involvement in this investigation soon places her in mortal danger as she begins to unravel a plot where money and power overrides human life. Can her brother, Detective Patrick O'Shaunessy and his partner, Jack Miller, keep her safe or will Claire necome the next victim of this ruthless killer's deception?
Deception ⭐️ Claire is working on a case with her brother jack who is a detective. But Claire finds herself drawn deeper into the case when her friend ends up dead. Claire uses herself as bait of sorts to find out more and digs deeper into the case to avenge her friend. So i liked this but also some parts were slow and dragged on. I liked that Claires friendship with her brother remained strong and the relationships were real but some areas i just wanted more action and drama.
I did not want to put this book down. Excellent exciting story. Love the protagonist! And the other characters as well. It was a fascinating twist to a murder mystery with illegal medical procedure. Always fun to read a book that is geographically in an area you know. I cannot wait to read Revenge next....starting tomorrow.
Deception by Sue Myers: I enjoyed reading this spine-tingling mystery novel by Sue Myers. I liked roaming the streets of Chicago. Claire is a strong female character, yet sweet and caring. Could there be a budding romance? I highly recommend this book!
I enjoyed this book. It had an interesting plot. I hope to read future books with this same main character. There is room for more character development. I want to know more about the main characters.
