Live and learn

I never heard of this until my sister was diagnosed! So, I decided to dive in and find out about it. She has had fibromyalgia for years, but all of a sudden, she was wracked with unremitting pains and unable to take care of herself! Finally, she got this diagnosis and is getting relief from prednisone. Since I, too, suffer from joint and muscle pain and she has been telling me for years that I probably have fibromyalgia since she and two of our sisters have already been diagnosed with it, I decided to read up on it! We also have a family history of thyroid disorders, I've had Hashimoto's for over fifty years and there are a couple of cousins in each family and generation with thyroid issues. The importance of healthy diet is becoming more and more a factor in our wellbeing! Avoiding processed foods, Franken foods, and going back to organic is a must! It's like we're being embalmed before we die! We're being destroyed from the inside out by what we're eating!

Great 30,000 ft view

I was diagnosed during the past week with PMR, and while my doctor was brilliant with his diagnosis, he couldn't get me out of his office fast enough! I had no knowledge of what he'd just told me needless to say, had no idea what questions to ask him. And being someone who is already on long-term medications, having no idea how this was going to affect that! This book gave great starter info on questions to ask healthcare practioners, possible drug interactions, holistic approaches and suggestions for support groups! A great and simple read for those with no starting point! Very thankful for this book!

I have a return of PMR after 7years so needed a little reminder of what is is and what it isn't from someone who experienced it and researched it. Good little reference book as I start another session of Prednisone.

Very useful

Very useful for PMR people or their near and dear ones. Reminded me to cut carbs again - post-Christmas weight gain!

Fabulous

In all my research I have not found a book that explains everything so straightforward. I recommend this to everyone who has Polymyalgia or who know someone with it.
