1 Samuel: Verse by Verse Commentary

Rate this book
Verse-by-verse commentary through the Book of 1 Samuel. The Book of 1 Samuel is the dramatic story of God’s work in and through three important Samuel, Saul, and David. In them we see a man who turned a nation, the fall of a phony, and the making of a man of God. The legacy of three lives endures to our day. Where it is comfortable and where it is not, we see ourselves in these men - and learn from the way God worked in them.

A great resource that includes the Bible verses with commentary as you go

Most commentaries I have encountered have given verse references within the pages but not always the verses. It breaks it down into chunks of Scripture then goes verse by verse as to its meaning, relatable information and helped with clarity of the verses. Studying 2nd Samuel next and thankful to have another DG commentary to use.

Excellent Study!

This is an excellent study on the life of Samuel, Saul, and David. It is easy to follow and the author, using the biblical text, makes excellent points of application for believers today.

This was my first time using a commentary, and I really enjoyed the thoughts, explanations and perspectives of it. So many things I would not of even thought about before. To me it was very well done, and not too opinionated or theory based.
