Beast Quest #59

Tecton the Armoured Giant

Rate this book
Great for boys, with a huge collectability factor bolstered by the cards in the back of the books, and links to an excellent interactive website. Malvel has created another ferocious Beast for Tom to battle! Tecton is a massive creature that even Tom might find hard to defeat. Luckily Tom's father, Taladon, is here to help. Will Tom and Taladon prevail, or will it end in tragedy?

Adam Blade is the house name for the Working Partners Ltd. ghostwriters who write the Beast Quest and Sea Quest series.

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father’s paintings of historic English battles – which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father’s office. Adam’s father said they were a Blade family heirloom.

As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character – Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born.

When Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas – until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age… And still does, even though he’s grown up!

When he’s not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets – a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest – Arachnid and Claw.

Sadly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!

Another great book in the series after this book the series will not be the same again. This book is more brutal an bloody then the other books in the series have been, with a very emotionally charged ending. My only complaint was I think there was more to explore at the end of this book, but that could be saved for the next book, so this is very easily forgiven. My boys would not let me put the book down for the last 3 chapters. Always a great sign of a great book.

We've lft the kids genre behind. such a great book. great plot great storyline and awesome and tragic surprises. the only thing holding me back from giving this book a 7 is that a. goodreads doesn't allow it tho I hv a 7 star books list do check it out and b. I would've liked adam blade to go all out and not try going for that repetitive kids genre
I would've loved it if tom had went berserk after the.. plot twist..XD, and nanook didn't rly help. adam blade could've made this a lot more better had he not controlled himself to stay in the genre and sticked to the page limit. I would've loved a 500 page version of this.
tho it is comforting to know that adam blade is making children grow with the books. blade is an author that will never disappoint. a pro tip is to never read more than two of his books at once bcz they are a bit repetitive and can kil the vibe which blade brings to u of cartoon network childhood. love the series love the author and def love the fact that I'm able to write such a long review after such a long time. guess I can't help it once I start. peace and have a good time doing whatever u do in this life and best of luck. xDXD
