Adam Blade is the house name for the Working Partners Ltd. ghostwriters who write the Beast Quest and Sea Quest series.

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father’s paintings of historic English battles – which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father’s office. Adam’s father said they were a Blade family heirloom.

As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character – Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born.

When Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas – until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age… And still does, even though he’s grown up!

When he’s not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets – a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest – Arachnid and Claw.

Sadly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!

I liked this book because I think the beast is very cool. I also liked this book because I thought it was very creative how Tom caught the beast. I didn't like this book because Tom almost lost. I think this book was the best book in series 8.

Hellion the Fiery One is another thrilling addition to the Beast Quest series, and Adam Blade once again delivers a fast-paced, action-packed adventure that keeps young readers hooked from beginning to end. This installment stands out for its high stakes, fiery atmosphere, and the intense challenges Tom and Elenna must face as they continue their journey.

Right from the opening chapter, the story throws you headfirst into danger. The pacing is one of Blade’s biggest strengths—there is never a dull moment. Every scene builds momentum, driving the characters closer to the heart of the mystery surrounding Hellion, the powerful fire beast causing destruction across Avantia.

Hellion himself is a fantastic creation. Blade captures the beast’s fiery energy, destructive power, and dramatic presence with vivid descriptions that young readers can easily picture. He feels terrifying yet fascinating, and the tension of whether Tom can possibly stand against such a creature gives the story its strong emotional pull.

Tom and Elenna continue to shine as brave, determined heroes. What makes this series so beloved is how relatable they are, even in impossible situations. Tom’s courage and Elenna’s loyalty bring heart to the story, and it’s inspiring to watch them work together, strategize, and rely on their strengths to survive. Their teamwork is a great model for young readers, showing that bravery isn’t only about fighting—it’s also about helping, trusting, and refusing to give up.

The world-building in this book is also impressive. Blade’s descriptions of burning landscapes, scorched forests, and molten danger create an immersive environment that brings the fiery world of Hellion to life. The sense of danger is real, but it never becomes too overwhelming for younger readers. Instead, it's exciting in a way that encourages imagination and adventure.

The battle scenes are energetic, but what stands out most is the underlying message: determination, courage, and kindness can overcome even the fiercest challenges. Blade always delivers a solid moral foundation beneath the action, making the series more meaningful than just monsters and magic.

Overall, Hellion the Fiery One is a gripping, fun, and imaginative read that continues the Beast Quest tradition of heroic quests, dangerous beasts, and strong character growth. Perfect for young fantasy lovers and for anyone who enjoys fast-paced adventures with heart.

In this book Elenna has mysteriously obtained a new bow and arrows from somewhere. It's never explained where. Additionally, the ghostwriters still don't remember the tokens Tom obtained in Gwildor, or forgot to inform the reader that Tom lost them to Malvel or gave them back to his mother, because the pearl that gives him the ability to breathe underwater would've been very useful for him in this and the previous book. Tom loses his sword in a lake and does not get it back in this book. Bonus points are given for the ghostwriters understanding that thrusting a metal sword into a fire will make the sword heat up as well as for the Beast and the interesting way Tom had to deal with the it.
