I bought this incredible book in Berlin at the museum which the book describes, built on the site of the Nazi police headquarters on Prinz-Albrect Strasse. It was chilling to be there and the documentation in the book is stunning.

I have now reached the point in writing the sequel to my recently published novel A Flood of Evil where Reinhard Heydrich is an important character, and the horrors that he planned and managed from this site underlie the plot.

Sometimes I frighten myself as my two major characters - a German Catholic boy and a Polish Jewish girl - interact with the man who became the architect of the Holocaust.
