A Six Week Study Guide to review the heart oriented parenting material discussed in the book "Don't Make Me Count to Three!"
From the Introduction: "There is no such thing as perfect parenting. There are no parenting books, charts or three step plans that hold the key to transforming us into flawless parents, or our offspring into perfect children. There is, however, a Savior that forgives our mistakes, covers our imperfections, and deems us faultless when we admit our inadequacies and cry out to Him for help. Striving to be the perfect parent may seem a noble endeavor, but it plants our feet on the sinking sand of self-reliance....We must fully rely on the grace and righteousness of God for the character development, outcome, and very souls of our children."

Honestly, I didn't expect to walk away with eight back-and-front pages filled with notes. I thought I'd breeze through the book, maybe pick up a couple disciplinary practices to put into place. But after reading, I wish I had picked this book up sooner! Filled with biblical disciplinary tactics and dozens of ways to revamp your parental thinking toward Christlikeness, this book will always be a recommended read.
This book is so founded on the Word that it calls us and our children out on it. Which is ultimately what discipline is all about: addressing the sin and correcting it. Hubbard succeeds at precisely that by calling out our ungodly disciplining habits or lack thereof and suggesting Scripture-centered methods to replace them with.
I wish I would have found this book sooner to have this Scripture-centered disciplining style mastered with my children. But it's not too late for my eight and six-year-old, which means it's not too late for your child either!
This study guide is very detailed and allows you to delve deeper into the thoughts of discipline. Each chapter has about 15 questions and includes scripture reading. This paired perfectly with Don't Make Me Count to Three by the same author.
