Real Messages From Heaven: And Other True Stories of Miracles, Divine Intervention and Supernatural Occurrences

Rate this book
A Message from Beyond the Grave What would you think if you received a fax from Heaven? Burke Aldridge passed away in 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Before Burke’s death, he told his wife he would send her a fax from Heaven to let her know he was all right. Since his death, two doctors—who did not know each other—have seen Burke appear in their homes, and they both received similar messages from him. The doctors faxed letters to Burke’s wife, Faye Aldridge, documenting their after-death encounters and the content of Burke’s message. A Fax from Heaven tells this story, along with many other miraculous true stories as told to Faye Aldridge.  The author has included many of her own inspiring lived experiences. These extraordinary events are God’s messages of hope. He is with us, and He reveals Himself in supernatural ways to those who listen with expectant faith. This book shares true stories of real people and real life-changing events in their lives! You will Near-death and after-death experiences are genuine occurrences. God hears and answers prayer and He miraculously heals. God speaks audibly and through the Holy Spirit; also in dreams and visions. Angels really do appear in times of need. God is real and as close as our shadow on a summer day! Encounter Him for yourself!

I was sometimes downright angry, sometimes frustrated and sometimes amused by the (mostly) ridiculous stories in this book. I was very disappointed as I think a book like this can be spiritually encouraging and inspiring if the author shares true and practical ways that GOD has interceded in every day life (which He does). But this book intersperses God's truth (via scripture verses) and occultic fairy tales. Ghosts come and go and give meaningless messages (such as "I am fine") or just show up for no apparent reason (such as the time a woman is driving when suddenly, shrunken, tiny versions of her dead parents appear on her dashboard. This 'miracle' is attributed to God! This kind of nonsense, presented as truth, makes me angry. The Bible clearly states that believers are at home with the Lord after death ("Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— for we walk by faith, not by sight— we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord", we are not traipsing about on earth, showing up on people's windshields!

I read this book before adding to our church library's inventory. It was interesting to me because I knew some of the people that the stories were about.

Yet another book telling us how God hears our prayers and answers them. God will melt icy roads for a son driving home from college! But you have to pray! Above all you have to BELIEVE!!!!

I love stories and anecdotes that confirm our hope that we do survive death of the body. I do not love the page-by-page abuse of the exclamation point!!! What a lazy (and ineffective) way to convey enthusiasm, wonder, conviction, or excitement to a reader.

This book delivers a lot of good anecdotes. Faye Aldridge acknowledges the mystery of how SOME prayers seem to be answered while others are not. Survivor's Guilt, too. Some people are healed. Some survive a car wreck. Others, no. Why does a toddler drown in a swimming pool but another kid gets a guardian angel? Don't ask. Just trust that whatever happens, God allowed it for a reason.

Maybe we do live on after our bodies die. Maybe we sense the presence of a loving Creator God. This does not prove that the God of the Bible is the one, true God.

The Bible says a lot of things about God and eternal damnation for those who fail to choose the "free gift" of atonement, redemption, eternal life in heaven, and daily guidance from on High.

The Bible also tells us a loving Creator God would allow his beloved children to blow him off, and therefore God has no choice but to let them burn in hell for all eternity.

This doesn't fit with any parenting model I would emulate.

"For the love of Jesus" - whoever, whatever Jesus may be - this is what keeps me trying books like this one. Jesus inspires. "Changed Lives" -- there's something going on with those who hit rock bottom and "find Jesus," and LOVE seems to be the answer to all questions.

Except for that one big question: Do we live on and reunite with our lost loved ones after we die?

On to the next book....

I was hoping for a largely uplifting book about how God has touched our lives to help us know that Heaven is real. However, this book read very much like a scattered collection of people 's experiences with death and not necessarily God. Some of the stories seemed forced to make the connection with heaven and God. Many of the stories may have been part of a person's conversion to Christianity but should not have been forced as the catalyst.

I really enjoyed this book as I had experienced observing others who have had near death experiences. So many things written in this book were things I had seen when watching others who were in the last stage of being on earth! God showed me that there was no doubt that heaven existed or things described in the Bible weren't factual. I have no doubt that heaven is more than words can describe.

Not what I expected

It was okay, I was disappointed as I thought it would be more accounts of people who handers death experiences. It's more accounts of religious feelings. Nothing I would read again or recommend.

Moving stories

The stories in this book are very moving. They can come across as a little preachy. If you are a "believer" this won't bother you. If you aren't then you may need to take some of this with a grain of salt.

Miracles

With so many experiencing miracles, it seems impossible not to believe! Sometimes the miracles we experience are so bountiful, we miss seeing them. Keep looking and you will find.

Good read

I enjoyed this book. I do believe these experiences can happen. The book was an easy read, but did have a great deal of exclamation points. It made reading a little odd at times.

Wonderful Read

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. After having gone through events after my sister died that I couldn’t explain and many didn’t believe, I know now that others have experienced events, too, that can only be explained through the presence of God.

Peace and hope!

I chose this rating because I felt peace while reading the book. Hope because I know these are true reports that God hears us if we let him in as he works in us. Tel these incidents whenever appropriate, especially to children.

You will be inspired and encouraged reading this book. It details many after death experiences such as visitations , visions and God speaking to people. A good reminder of our God being a supernatural loving being who loves us and provides. A book worth reading.

The most interesting book I've ever read

I have always loved to hear the experiences others have had with the Lord, because I've had so many myself and even my son early one morning was taken to heaven temporarily when he was praying for me. It gives people such a sense of belonging and hope when they see that they're not alone in their grief and that there are other things besides this earth that we will know about one day. I am even writing a book about the beautiful and strange things God has shown me. Things that I could not see with my physical eyes. Faye's stories that she has gathered together and written about herself also is such a blessed account of the world that we will someday live in. This book was so interesting and I was so disappointed when it came to an end. I wish it had continued on and on. If I'm not mistaken Faye has written another one which I must buy also. I'm sure it will be another blessed book and a beautiful insight into a world that we know so little about compared to those who have suffered the right to cross over and be with her Lord.

An Emotional and Inspirational Book, August 20, 2013
By jjspina "Author of children's book, Louey the Lazy Elephant, and writer of poetry and novels and copy editor

This book was so touching and inspiring that I found that I was crying after and during some of the messages. It had a profound effect on me and how I envision life would be after death. It was beautifully written and a passage from the bible that was directly related to each message was added after each story.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about all the miraculous events that happen to so many people. Even non-believers will be astounded by these stories of Divine Intervention. It was truly an emotional, inspiring and uplifting read.

I believe this

I believe in God, but have been praying to go back to work & financial relief. I am still waiting, I see people with less skills & intellect financially thriving. While I, with skills & education sit at home. I do not understand, why God let a person like me lose almost everything, including things money can not buy. I am not the same person anymore, bitter & angry. Glad God loves them, but not me.
