Life doesn’t always work out the way you want. People deceive you and take things from you. But when someone takes the one thing most precious to you, how do you ever get past it? The last few months have been a build-up to the moment when Jade will face off with her tormentor. Life will never be the same, and Jade knows it. Can she work out a way to get it all back, or will she be damned to live an eternity where trust will always elude her?
I really wanted to like this series, but since the start of book three I've been completely skimming the dialogue. It feels endlessly repetitive. I found myself so frustrated when the protagonist was too much of a brat to hear other characters out, especially since it would've served to make the story move along at a more natural pace. The concept itself was interesting, but these characters feel quite vapid compared to the geniuses or "next-gens" that they're supposed to be.
I thought this was a good installment in the Evolution series; better than Evolution #3 in my opinion. I still have some complaints regarding the characters; there's a lot of them and they seem to increase every novel, half of them are poorly characterized (sorry Kai, but all you do is travel and surf and hack into things. I want to know more about you Kai, you sound totally awesome. And Dave. Sorry man. I know you're Aiden's father, but like I don't know anything else about you. You're literally just there. In the background) and when killing off random and irrelevant characters, they're given random and irrelevant deaths. They lived as they died. I feel like there are too many characters in too short a novel, which is leading to poor characterization. Further to that point, the main character is rather whiny. In some aspects she reminds me of Bella from the Twilight series, and I have a lot of trouble believing that she's 17-almost-18.
That being said, I did like some of the ideas that the characters used. Quite inventive. Though the last fight with DD seemed more to fizzle out than end with a bang and I had to reread it to make sure that I hadn't missed it.
I feel like this series would have been better as a single, standalone book. The storyline has so much potential, but parts of it seemed to artificially draw out the inevitable - like the main character just refusing to hear out another character and disappearing (thus delaying the answers the conversation would later provide). A lot of dialogue felt repetitive, and the relationships between the next gens felt undeveloped and rang false at times.
The book itself is good. What left me saddened by this series was that the writing was good but the plot line was predictable. It really had the potential to be so much more, great twists and turns. In the end the series was a nice light easy read, I just wished it packed more of a punch.
This book is a quick read, provided with easy solutions and fewer challenges. I was half expecting Jade's father to find out about Harry and killed him, which would ruin all the plans. But I'm glad it isn't that complicated.
The story is without a cliffhanger, and if I dislike the series, this book can be considered the end of Jade and Aiden's story. But because I liked the story so far, I will continue with the next book.
I wonder what else is in store for them. Could it be the effect on Jade's blood in Chelsea, Marie and her grandma? Will they become one of them?
Jade figures out who her dad is when her mum finally tells her some of the truth as what is going on with all the secrets. Then there was a major twist as to who he really was. Sad thing another friend was loss due to her dad's sick game. If you haven't read the series yet get hooked on the Evolution Series by Kelly Carrero you won't be sorry.
Jade has to stop Nathan at any cost. I love how even though she is so powerful she still remains compassionate. Power makes some people believe they are above everyone. Aiden and Jade are two teenagers dealing with young love as well as the most dangerous person alive. I love the relationships that build and the story is amazing.
Now everyone knows who Jade's father is and it hits some people harder than others.
I know that there are more books and I really hope that they are as good as these ones have been, because the whole series could've finished with that ending. It was awesome. Go Jade!!!!!
this book is like x-men meets jumper, meets push, meets from hell, with the serious fact of so far from the books thati have being one darn awsome book series
and to the authore of this book keep it up your awsome!
I thought this book flowed well in the series, although some of the relationships between all the characters are kind of odd but hey it's a book. I feel sorry for the main characters bestie as she always seems to be supportive but gets forgotten about alot unless they need vent. Still this series is keeping my attention.
Loved this entire series. It kept me from start to finish for them all. Completely love the whole family. Completely messed up and all made it all that more enjoyable and enthralling.
The more I read of this series the more L can't wait to read the next one. I liked the way that they took care of the villian in this series. I can't wait to read more of this series.
I have waited for this book to hit the market since i finished book 3, and the moment I heard that it was available on Amazon I had my kindle at my side and bought it. In no time flat I finished this book, completely lost in the words Kelly has put together to make such an amazing book! Our favorite characters are back and better than ever. No matter how hard it is, they are facing their challenges head on to live for a better tomorrow, or just to even live tomorrow. As drama unfurls and truths are made known to Jade, everything she knows and believes to be the truth is put to the test. My heart pounded, my temper flared, I felt anguish, relief, and so many emotions with our characters as I turned every page. The ending was definitely a surprise to me, I won't say what it is though; wouldn't want to spoil it for you. Kelly has outdone herself in this installment of the evolution series, with a perfect ending I am sure none of us saw coming. With plot twists at every twist and turn, you will not become bored and you turn the pages.
I was going nuts waiting for this book. Big fan of the story development of Jade's father. The ending left me thinking there will be another book, but I expected this one to be the final in the series.
I love the characters in this series and I thought this was the last book in the series, but it isn't and I am excited to read more and to see them triumph over the evil in their lives.
