Follows the experiences of Daphne, a four-year-old trumpeter swan, as she and her mate prepare for their first nesting season. Includes factual information about the natural history of swans.
I liked this book because it told me facts about a trumpeter swan in fact I didn't even know about trumpeter swans at all, But I didn't like a couple parts in the book because they kinduve seemed sad, which I know that everybody hates feeling. But otherwise it is a really good book. One thing that I am wondering is that what if the pen dies what will the cob do find another mate but once when the cob and the pen mate then they stay together forever.
This book gave the essential information about all trumpeter swans by telling about the adventures of one trumpeter swan. It definitely gave me the background knowledge I will need when I start reading my next book, The Trumpet of the Swan.
The book was a topic I never knew before. I never knew that trumpeter swans were birds. I also never knew trumpeter swans made a trumpet sound and I never knew they were so big. I never new that trumpeter swans made cooing sounds.
