George Anderson—the world’s premier medium—offers a personal, first-hand glimpse of the Other Side and brings a message of hope and love for all, based on the illuminating lessons of his life’s work.In his years working with bereaved families to communicate with lost loved ones, George Anderson has earned an international reputation for his astonishing abilities. Now, for the first time, Anderson offers a vivid and intimate account of his spiritual communications. He explains what it’s like to be a psychic, what he experiences, and what it means. He directly answers the many questions most commonly asked of him. He also shares moving, inspirational, and reassuring readings that illuminate the meaning of life, the reality of the afterlife, the importance of spirituality, and our bond to the souls in the hereafter. They are messages that not only enlighten us about what awaits, but also teach us how to fulfill our significant roles here on earth and in life. They are messages of hope and love as extraordinarily beautiful as they are eternal.
I was born into a family fascinated by George Anderson, who have had readings done by him that were absolutely spot-on. His messages about the afterlife are purely without agenda, totally engrossing and interesting information that somehow rings true even to those of us who are not mediums. He is the only living medium invited to Holland by the remaining members of Anne Frank's family, presumably to do a discernment (what he calls a reading) with Anne. This book absolutely is one of hope and peace.
After having a private discernment with George in 1999 (and reading all of his previous books), I can personally attest that this man is truly gifted indeed... His words offer hope and comfort to those of us who have loved and lost, and gives us incredible insight through the messages relayed from the other side. Formerly a sceptic who lost four beloved people in 1998 alone, I can say that everything I've suspected about life after death has been confirmed absolutely... and there is nothing left to fear!
Thought this book was okay. So much was written in the dialogue and I got a sense that George was "fishing" for information in his discernments or readings. Didn't really care for it other than the fact that he reaffirmed that all who cross over to the other side are at peace and are happy no matter how they left this earth.
Everything's in here, and it's a nice, warm 'potbelly stove' feeling, but not much new. Guess I've read a lot of these. Always refreshing to go over it, though. Liked it a lot . . . but not my very favorite.
I loved this . I felt it was true. I asked for help from one of my loved ones and they appeared in my dreams. I believe it was them and it makes me feel better. George s accuracy is astounding , hard not to believe.
I really went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. I just lost my Dad and a person close to me recommended this book for helping to deal with the immeasurable grief I'm suffering.
I felt the beginning messages and discussion of grief, loss and the hereafter (essentially Heaven) was wonderful and just really helped me heal.
However, what I felt at the beginning and subsequently the very end really vanished in the middle.
The discernments (what he calls his connection with the dead) started to all read the same. He starts saying hello and saying the dead/souls are at peace, then he "gives [the family of the deceased] white roses" from the dead for something, like an anniversary, birthday, retirement etc and then he concludes with the dead leaving saying they are OK now and happy.
It made me really question what he was saying and who he was. But, in the end, is what I chose to believe and how I look at the universe, grief, life, death and beyond. AND, I chose to believe him, that my Dad is still here with me, existing in an alternate plane and at peace. I love you Dad.
I'm giving this 3 stars because I found myself doubting the author's abilities as a medium. I am a believer in the idea that our souls continue on after death and that the hereafter is a place of light and love. But in the 'discernments' (as the author calls the readings), I felt he was digging for clues. I have been to a medium and she was able to tell me things that I didn't even know - without prompting. Such as my great-aunt, who died before I was born, had a yellow canary. I had to verify that with my mother. And she only charged me $150 - not over $1000. That's the bad news. The good news is that Anderson is clearly very intelligent and writes beautifully. He seems a very loving person and I don't think he's a total sham - I just question his abilities and his ability to admit when a reading doesn't go well - which I'm sure happens often. But in the final analysis, I sure hope what he says is true. I wanted very much to believe it.
An extraordinarily eye opening, comforting, sensitive, provocative read for anyone who wonders (or has serious doubts) if there is life after death on Earth. George Anderson is a master communicator in ways most of us are not. If you pick it up and actually read it to the end, your life will be forever changed. I know that mine was. There is no going back.
For those in grief, this is a very comforting book. Life does continue for those who have passed on. I liked how this book was set up: Category, family writes about the lost person and then the reading (or discernment) as Anderson calls them.
This book has been life-changing for me. It has helped me renew my spiritual direction and gain a clearer perspective of my path. I recommend it to anyone and everyone, no matter their faith or belief system.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the personal stories were too long and detailed for me. Otherwise, a very powerful, poignant book and one I am highly recommending to others whom I think will benefit from it.
This book changed my life. I have been struggling with the loss of my mother to cancer at a young age. It has helped me tremendously in dealing with my grief.
