I didn't feel like this book gave me a lot of new information but it was a nice resource that gave an honest appraisal of strengths and weaknesses around my personality type. Not a bad resource. I am excited to check out the web resources, too, to see if they add any value to the book.
Picked this as a quick read to get to grips with my new kindle. It was ok for a quick read, but as an INFP I think it really generalised the personality type. Like many chapters on social norms that I thought were quite simplistic. But I did enjoy the quotes and it was a good overview or intro if you’re new to myers briggs.
Most of this book was information I already knew. Other parts were contradictory: you may have trouble leaving bad relationships/the second you find a flaw in someone you may flee, due to your idealistic view of the world. At the end, it suggested a list of chores you should "hire help" for - I can understand with hiring an accountant, but hiring someone simply to do LAUNDRY?!?! Perhaps I would have found this a bit better if I had not so extensively studied my type already, but I found the information to be excessive, and the book as a whole to be fairly boring.
If you haven't read other books about Myers Briggs Personality Typing and if you know you are an INFP or someone you know is an INFP, then you might find this book worthwhile. There are quotes by INFPs that are interesting and some suggestions about how to maximize strengths and minimize weaknesses. For me, it wasn't meaty enough, which would have earned it 4 stars, but the typos were really distracting. (Though maybe I'm saying that because I'm an INFP.)
