This really gives a thorough overview of lotion making with precise instructions. It’s a resource I plan on going back to if I ever really want to make lotion (instead of creams, face moisturizers, etc). It is pretty specific to only lotions — classified by a small percentage of oils suspended in a much larger percentage of water — and only those meant for hands and body.

A good start for my potential new hobby of lotion making. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

The book is the holy grail for my lotion making.

I have used recipes from blogs to make lotion. Even though they would come out creamy, they didn't moisturize my skin. Since reading and following the recipes from this book, I finally made lotion that works for me and the family. Thank you Anne Watson!

Amazing information!

I'm so glad someone pointed me in the right direction of this book. I've been trying lotion recipes for almost 2 years and this is by far the most helpful and informative I have come across. I will be experimenting very soon

The instructions are a bit too intimidating for a hobbyist.

This is a good book to own if you plan to make and sell lotion professionally. If you are simply making lotion for your own home use, which is my intention, this book might be too complicated for you. It certainly is for me.

If you want a simpler book on lotion making, I recommend another book that I also purchased: Organic Homemade Lotion Recipes by Jasmine Wood.

I have recently started making my own lotion & I found this book helpful & informative.
The explanation of some of the terms & its purpose as well as the how to step by step instructions were great.
The guide on how to create your own recipes & the properties of fats table was a great added bonus.

Smart lotionmaking

I was disappointed in this book for me because I already had made herbal lotions. There was too much information for me but someone who had never made any it might be okay.

Just what I was looking for.

I am a beginner but this book seems to have all the basics, some recipes and theory so I think I learned enough to improvise with confidence.
