I absolutely love this cover! Hiro Mashima has outdone himself yet again! There are some jaw-dropping moments in this volume that leave you gasping (or at least it did for me). The story is going great; the paneling and pacing are on point and the intensity is all there! Not much you can ask for from this volume. Boy...the way it ends leaves you thirsting for volume 27!

The Blue Guardian Arc is finally heating up! This volume really did pack a punch. We are starting to unravel a little bit more about the big mystery that has been the shadow for this series, Elie and Etherion.

Wow. So Hardner’s plan is totally nuts and poor Belinka. All that just to not be able to use the power she wanted. I guess it worked out since it would have been used for evil anyway.

Belnika not a great fighter but a healer which is cool. Ellies replacement is not working out well for Hardner

Hiro Mashima, Rave Master, vol. 26 (ViZ, 2004)

So tell me, did vol. 25 leave us on the worst cliffhanger in the world, or what? Haru runs into Belnika again, and Belnika discovers she's supposed to kill him. This does not compute with her, so she confronts Harden, who lays everything out for her (while smacking Luna around in the process for “filling Belnika's head with all that gunk”). And so the scene is set for Harden's planned destruction of the Mystic Realm. But Haru and the gang have a few plans up their sleeve... my only regrets about vol. 26 were (a) that it wasn't three times as long as all the other books in the series and (b) I didn't have vol. 27 standing ready when I finished it. *** 1/2
