“I think you have to want to hold a marriage together. Otherwise, there is always a reason to let it go.”

Title: The Man Under the Mistletoe
Author Muriel Jensen

⭐️⭐️💫 2.5

This is a romance book.

This book follows Rosie and Matt. When Matt, Rosie‘s ex-husband is back in town for her sister‘s wedding they are forced to face the past that split them up. Both are still dealing with the feelings that they have had for each other. After all the pain and suffering Rosie has experienced. Will she be able to find love again with her ex-husband who never wanted to leave her in the first place?

This book was fine. It was not really for me. There’s also a mystery sprinkled in throughout this book. Pregnancy loss was part of this plot. I’m not a fan of pregnancy tropes.

Amazing story. Intrigue. Rosie, the wedding planner for her sister Francie is all excited to be doing this. Until Francine drops a bomb. She's asked Matt, Rosie's ex, to be the photographer for the wedding. Jumping butterballs! If there's one thing that can knock the air out of a person, this was it. And if that wasn't enough, Matt takes a bullet intended for Rosie (literally). Quiet little Rosie? What could she have done? Some long lost secrets are revealed involving Rosie's dad and planning commission bribes. However, the best part of the book is revealed on the last page. In fact, it's revealed in the last two words of the book!

This one started out well, but as the characters continued to do and say dull/stupid/annoying things, my enjoyment did go down hill, a bit.

There was also an odd amount of random sexism in here; book likely would have been more like 2.5 or even 3 without that, unfortunately. I think I'm just over finding he-man-woman-hater crap "cute" in small boys or in grown men.

I have read almost all of Muriel Jenson's books. This is one of my favorites. Love overcomes Tragedie story.
