This was a quick read, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. I kept hoping it would get better, but I was disappointed. It felt very monotonous and almost depressing.

The chapters were confusing at times. They would have a characters name at the top as if the chapter was from their POV but it wasn't.

The pacing was very slow, with actions and environments described in too much detail. I found myself skimming paragraphs just to get to the interesting parts.

There were quite a few typos and errors, which made me go back and re-read sections ecerytime because it didn't make sense.

The last 10% of the book was the most interesting for me. I liked getting some answers to questions I had from the beginning.

I didn't like Larua much, but I preferred her once she got a backbone and started hunting the revenants with Isabella.

If you love vampyres,dark, mystery, gothic and fierce female vampyre leads then this book is for you!
Larua is haunted by flashbacks and memories of her past and is determined to uncover these secrets in a cruel city of shadows.
A perfect fast paced read, I could have read more. Thank goodness I have the second book ready to go.

Gothical vampire fantasy with interesting characters and an impressive world build!


Larua is a vampire and is being “ haunted” from flashes from her past, before she was turned.

This first installment is an introduction into the world, it’s phenomenal and thanks to the fluent writing style, I was instantly drawn in the story.

The story was interesting and the ending unexpected ( in a very good way) ☺️ Curious to read more from this vampire saga.

Daydreamer: Escape from the Dark is a captivating and beautifully written start to a new trilogy. The world and characters immediately drew me in, and the ending left me eager to continue the journey. I can’t wait to see what the next book will bring
