3.5 but I'm feeling generous so I'll round up. :)

This book started out awesome. It was funny with snarky characters that had amazing animosity to start out with. Well, animosity on Becca's part. Wolf was all hot and muscled and hot and dimples...um...what was I saying? Oh, right...He was attracted to Becca and not afraid to show it.

So, they bickered and I loved it. He was going to have to work for her. But, something happened. I felt like I changed the channel for two seconds and when I came back, I'd missed something huge. Because one minute Becca wanted nothing to do with him and the next, she's all for jumping into bed with him. Now, I'm not really complaining since she did admit (to herself) that he was hot, but admitting it to yourself and changing your whole attitude toward someone is something different.

Actually, the whole book was expectorated. Because once they were together, within two weeks, something happens to cause a misunderstanding and they break up. And I would have been ok with that, honestly, I was expecting it. But the rebound to them getting back together was to quick. He came over, said sweet things, flashed his perfect dimpled grin and she melted into his arms. It was just to soon for me.

Overall, I did enjoy this, there were great parts (Einstein and thongs being a couple of them) and it was a quick read. I can't say this will make my favorite books list, but I would definitely read more from the author.

Becca Sinclair has trust issues with men. Since her father left her when she was and kid and her ex-husband walked out on her the year before on Christmas Eve, she doesn't trust that she's worthy of love. So the sex as sin, fireman moves in next door to her, he becomes the subject of her blog on men an relationships. She dub shim Bull, the Man-whore. Little does she know all the women coming and going from his place are his siblings and in-laws.

Soon that neighbor, Dan "Wolf" Wolford, ex Navy SEAL turns his sights on her. He wants her and he will get her at any cost. He knows he will have to pull out all the stops to get her to trust him. He has an ace in the hole, her german shepherd, Einstein, who keeps dropping her thong underwear at his feet.

This was cute, and sweet. The relationship moved fast, but that's the case with a novellas. Not much else to say, but I liked it.

The fun part of this book is it is where I live...... a fact I didn't know when I picked it. Becca Sinclair is a reporter for a Clearwater Fl paper, she really wants to get a colum but for now she lives with her German Shepard Einstein (who is hysterical and has a big part in the book) and blogs about her life and the "man whore" who moved in next door. Since her divorce, Becca doesn't have much use for men.

Dan ‘Wolf’ Wolford, ex Navy Seal, current commander of the Florida Marine Rescue Unit. From Becca's eyes, he is the ultimate man whore....... all sorts of woman coming and going from his place. When Wolf turns his attention on Becca, she uses all her humor and snark to keep him away, but Einstein seems to take a liking to Wolf.... personally delivering Becca's thongs to him and forcing them into more encounters than Becca would like........ until she starts to see the man beneath the perception she has.

Becca wants NOTHING to do with Wolf or the Christmas season...... she is still smarting from her divorce, while Wolf does nothing small...... his Christmas is over the top in every way, and when Becca learns about the stream of woman that are around Wolf, she understands why.

This is truly a book about family, friendship and love..... with a seriously hot ex-seal. Becca and Wolf both overcome a lot to be with each other. For a short novella, there is quite a lovely, sweet, funny, sexy story. Perfect holiday read.

The first thing that got my attention was the name of this book, Santa Wore Leathers. How funny is that! Never in my life have I ever seen a man dressed as Santa wearing leather but if he was anything like Wolf, I’d be all for it.

Dan Wolford aka “Wolf” is an ex-Navy Seal, fireman and already family guy. He loves his younger siblings and Christmas more than anything. Becca Sinclair is a local reporter and also has her own blog and the star of that blog is her man-whore neighbor Wolf. The two have an instant attraction that Wolf is all for giving into but Becca is not. Still trying to get over a horrible divorce, Becca isn’t sure she can and should trust Wolf with her heart.

This was a cute story, had some funny back and forth banter between Becca and Wolf. My favorite part though was Becca’s dog Einstein. Einstein is a German Shepard with a thing for thongs. The dog figured out how to open Becca’s underwear drawer and dig out her thongs. The best part was he would always bring them to Wolf, like a nice little gift just for Wolf. Santa Wore Leathers was a sweet Christmas themed story, the ending moved pretty fast but that’s what you get for less than 100 pages.

3.5 Stars.
This novella is another prime example of the absolutely excellent Seasonal stories that are out for 2013 for eager readers to devour.

Santa Wore Leathers is a short, sweet, hilariously funny read focused on Reporter/blogger Becca Sinclair and Fireman/Marine Rescuer Dan “Wolf” Wolford. Becca is all about avoiding the season and Dan goes as far over the top as he can to celebrate it. This is a story about family, friends and coming together at Christmas. Dan is the kind of guy I would love to find in my Christmas stocking that’s for sure, and I liked that Becca was no push over, even though she has been hurt in the past.

I have to say that the first 60% of the book was wonderful, I loved Einstein and his thong addiction, and Mrs. Minelli’s one liners were hilariously unforgettable. What knocked this down half a star for me was the overuse of drama; it felt like a few things had been put in just “for the hell of it”. Unless of course this book is the beginning of a series, than I can totally see why…..

Overall I really enjoyed this book, and would happily read another book by Vonnie Davis in the future.

It’s Christmas time and Becca Sinclair has little interest in celebrating. Having been hurt by men in holidays past, now she just wants to focus on her career as a reporter. Told she can have her own newspaper column if she can get fifteen hundred followers on her blog, Becca uses the exploits of her man-whore neighbor to attract followers – only it turns out her neighbor is actually a pretty good guy. A pretty great guy actually.

Dan ‘Wolf’ Wolford is a firefighter who heads the Florida Marine Rescue Unit and a devoted brother who raised his siblings after his parents’ death. Sparks fly when the two meet face to face for the first time – both good and bad. Becca is attracted to Wolf, but not interested in starting anything and actually would rather run the other way. Wolf finds Becca’s fiery nature a big turn on and sets out to woo her with all the romance the holiday season has to offer.

This book is super short, novella length, and it flies by. From first impressions, to first meeting, to getting down and dirty – it all seems to happen so fast. Maybe a little too fast. But it’s still a romantic and charming little story with holiday touches that make it a great little piece of naughty holiday fun. I love me some Alpha male so of course I loved Wolf (mostly - there were some parts were I wanted to slap some sense into that boy) and I also liked how Becca was feminine, but not a wilting flower by any means (her bedroom is purple and girly, but she rides a motorcycle - a pink motorcycle with matching helmet, naturally).

The only thing I wish is that the book had been longer and maybe fleshed a bit more. Becca’s blog and her endeavor to get her very own news column are important threads in the plot and yet they are left to dangle in the end. Does she get the needed followers? Is she ever rewarded for her hard work with her own column? The reader never finds out.

There's great humor in this story (Becca's thong stealing dog cracked me up, as did her endearingly hilarious elderly neighbor), but also some drama. The drama felt serious to me and not so easily forgiven (I think Wolf really messes up here and Becca should have made him squirm longer), but forgiveness is given and the two live happily ever after.

I would recommend Santa Wore Leathers if you’re looking for a quick holiday romance with a steamy love scene, humor, a tiny bit of drama, and an assured happily ever after.

Becca is a reporter and she has a blog. If she manages to gather enough followers that will earn her a column in the paper she's working for, that's her number one wish. Becca is living on her own. She's been badly hurt in the past and doesn't want to give her heart to someone again. She's going to spend a quiet Christmas, one without any disturbances...

Becca's next door neigbor, Wolf, is the current star of her blog posts. He's got a bike, he's gorgeous and he's entertaining lots of women. There's plenty to write about. When Wolf tries to charm Becca she doesn't want to give into this. He's a womanizer and she doesn't want to have a broken heart again. Is this really the best decision?

Santa Wore Leathers is a sexy story about two beautiful people who both deserve some happiness. I loved the chemistry between Becca and Wolf. They have such a great connection. Another thing I really liked about this story was Becca's dog. He's absolutely fantastic and his actions managed to put a smile on my face many times.

Becca is vulnerable and Wolf has a difficult past. Vonnie Davis has given her characters some heavy baggage. That made it easy to feel for them and to like them even more. Fortunately there were some unexpected twists and turns, I love to be surprised. I really enjoyed reading this Christmas story and highly recommend it if you're looking for a hot holiday read.

I almost want to rate this 1 star but I didn't read much of it - I don't have my device near me so I don't know what percent I read ...

But the heroine is a giant raging hypocritical bitch.

First of all - I am absolutely not ok with her violating her neighbor's privacy.
And she's so judgmental and bitchy about it too - and she also makes a ton of assumptions about him.
She's also doing it not just for kicks but for personal gain - because she's hoping to get a job/more cemented from it. (Also also I guess I don't get small town papers etc or whatever town because ... yes news is dying but 1,500 readers doesn't seem that much to... someone who is already getting the boost of being part of a paper?)

ANYWAY.
Then she's just nasty to the [presumed hero] - she's snide and mean to him for absolutely no reason.
She's judging him for "being a man whore" which a) it seems he actually isn't even one
b) ... I doubt many people would be ok if the roles were reversed?

A lot of this was just ... so not ok. And were the genders reversed I think there'd be outrage in romanceland.

Not only that but she gets mad at the hero for something another neighbor telling the hero about her - and she says she doesn't appreciate gossip or her privacy being violated. Then she feels just a PRICK of guilt about PUTTING HIS BUSINESS ON THE INTERNET - but then is all "oh no but it's totally different/I'm a good person/everything I'm doing is fine and okay and justified."

... WTAF.

Then she's a total asshole when he invites her to his birthday party - and tells her not to bring anything just to show up and that'll be his present/present enough.

Then in a ludicrous situation the hero's sister in law goes over to invite the heroine (they're neighbors) -- the sister in law being someone the heroine assumed the hero slept with.

I tapped out - not interested in a toxic nasty heroine
[I'm sure there'd be some sob story why she's such a bitch - oh her ex husband was trash, whatever.
... Doesn't mean she gets to treat utter strangers who have done nothing to her like shit because she's made up all sorts of things and judgments in her head.]

Wolf's wooing needs some work, “well, any male—two-legged or four—would be interested in this thong.” She scowled again." Wolf is kept on his toes with his woman, “you drive me crazy. Do you know that? You get me on the phone and taunt me with crotchless panties. God, woman. I rode the whole way here on my bike sporting a massive woody.” I liked this book, I loved Wolf.

3.5 Stars! Santa Wore Leathers is a sweet little novella that is perfect to curl up with on a cold, snowy day. My first Vonnie Davis read, I found the author to have an easy to read writing style and a fantastic sense of humor.

Summary:
Sweetly ambitious reporter Becca Sinclair has been spying on her gorgeous next door neighbor, but not just because he's the hottest man she's ever seen. Becca feels secure in her knowledge that Dan "Wolf" Wolford is a man-whore, and there is nothing that grates on her more than an arrogant, over-confident man who treats women badly. This is an opportunity. Using his escapades with women to recruit more blog followers and earn the coveted column she desperately wants. Wolf has been trying to introduce himself to his beautiful, auburn-haired neighbor for the two weeks he's lived next door, but being a firefighter makes his schedule impossible. When her lovable dog, Einstein, gives him the perfect chance to talk to her, he seizes that moment and flirts his heart out. Unfortunately, seeing so many women coming and going from his townhouse and with her history, Becca is less than impressed and makes this known, undeniably. Luckily, Wolf is intrigued and challenged by Becca's standoffish behavior and vows to win her round. The attraction between them is electric and sparks fly whenever they're close. Wolf likes what he sees and wants Becca to be his, but doesn't know if he can get over his intense dislike of reporters. Becca doesn't want to take the risk. She's been hurt so badly in the past. As Wolf and Becca spend more time together due to Einstein's panty-raiding habits and broken noses, the sparks catch fire and burn out of control. When danger arises and misunderstandings are taken too far, it will take a great deal of hope and bravery for Wolf and Becca to put their trust in each other in order to gain a future that's more than their differences.

Becca was so funny and I loved that she had a hot pink crotch rocket! I totally want one, too. She was snarky, cynical, and a little bit bitter, but we, as readers, got to see the real her and her inner thoughts and pain about how she became that way. Wolf had me from his first dimpled smile. He was hot, sweet, loyal, and giving. He put his own wants and needs to the side to see to others', especially his family. Together, they were dynamite. Just what the other needed to help heal past hurts. The addition of Mrs. Minnelli as extra comic relief, was a hoot. I love nosy, but kind elderly neighbors. I even wish I had one. Lol. My only criticism was several sentences of what, to me, read as cheesy dialogue. Nothing that effected the overall story being told. A fast read that brings the heart of what Christmas is all about to the fore. <3

I received an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

When a book's first line is "My new neighbor is a man-whore", you think you're in for a great, entertaining read. Unfortunately this isn't it. This story had so much potential and it just fell flat.

Becca Sinclair, a reporter for the local paper and blogger, is still dealing with the aftermath of her father walking out on the family and the divorce from her cheating ex-husband when she encounters her new neighbor as she's returning from exercising with her dog.

Dan Wolford (Wolf to family and friends), former Navy SEAL turned firefighter who develops instant lust for his standoffish neighbor, and decides to invite her to his birthday party. Of course Becca has no intentions of attending the party, but as they do in these books, fate (namely a sister-in-law) intervenes and suddenly Becca decides to not only attend the party, but to glam it up.

Of course there is the requisite tension between the characters; actually, that't not accurate. Wolf has made it clear what he wants, Becca wants nothing to do with him (or any man for the matter). Although once Wolf learns of Becca's occupation, he suddenly wants nothing to do with her.

The tide shifts when Becca sustains an injury and Wolf is there to help out. She decides the next morning that it's perfectly okay to do the horizontal tango with him. I'm still trying to figure out what the catalyst was for her decision; seriously, I'm rereading as I'm typing my review and for the life of me can't figure out what made her change her mind.

So the rest of the book limps along to an underwhelming conclusion. Becca is assaulted while investigating a story, and the assault takes place at the same time Wolf is responding to a fire at his sister's hair salon. Again, as it happens in these stories, a misunderstanding takes place and causes a separation/break-up of the main characters. Once everyone comes to their senses, it's happily ever after.

I wish there was more time spent on the fires, the one involving Wolf's parents and the one that destroyed the hair salon. Were they both due to arson? As I said, this book could have been so much more if certain parts of the story was elaborated on.

Becca has been keeping to herself ever since her divorce ended last Christmas. She is focusing on her career and blogging about her next door neighbor is one step forward in the right direction. She cannot believe how many women he has coming and going out of his house, so when he flirts with her one morning and invites her to his upcoming birthday party she immediately rejects him.

Wolf has always been taking care of his family and even now that they're all grown up it's no different. Ever since the day he moved into his home he's been harboring an attraction for his neighbor. He's never made any kind of approach and doesn't think that his first attempt served to bring him any closer to drawing her attention.

Surprisingly, Becca attends Wolf's party and once there, they discover that they had more obstacles to get through before they can even agree to see each other.

This was such a fun story. Vonnie Davis did a great job in drawing me into the story by making Wolf and Becca's first interaction fun and intriguing. There was something about the man that called to Becca and that made me curious too. I loved their banter and how their tempers flared occasionally.

I appreciated the author's effort to shed light into Wolf's past and Becca's struggles to start anything kind of romantic entanglement with a guy. Her doubts and hesitations were founded, but I did enjoy seeing her let go of her past and letting Wolf in. Wolf's first attempts to capture Becca's attention were sweet and charming and I couldn't help but fall for him too. I especially enjoyed watching them getting to know each other better.

Of course, their chemistry was awesome. I loved watching them all flustered and trying to act all unaffected when in reality they were anything but. The connection was slow in coming but with enough time spent together they did form one and Vonnie Davis made sure that it developed some as the story progressed.

All in all, a wonderful, hot little read with a nice mix of humor, emotion and sensuality wrapped up in a holiday setting.

Let’s just say I’ll take two Mr. Wolf’s under the tree or in my stocking from the real Santa. This was such a cute and witty story. One I am sure you will enjoy.

Once again this story although short revolves around a family which you all know is my downfall. This one with Dan Wolford as the oldest of all the children. He is an ex-Navy S.E.A.L. that comes home to raise his 4 sisters after losing his parents in a house fire. Something he could not expect his newly married younger brother to do while going to college. He knew his youngest sister was taking it so hard since she felt she should have been home instead of out with her friends. You see family has always been important to their parents therefor to them.

One day his birthday he finally gets to meet his neighbor who he has been lusting after for a few weeks since he moved in. It doesn’t go well because you see Becca Sinclair is a reporter & a blogger who is trying to go syndicated with her blog. So, she starts writing about this “man whore” which just happens to be this very man. Whose she can see from right out her window? Yup, “Wolf” the “man whore.” The very one who has women coming day or night-Yeah! That’s right that’s what she calls him a “man whore.”

Becca is fearful to date and be out and the real world and expose her heart. That is because she was newly divorced by just a year this Christmas season, her husband had started to abuse her and she had no father as a role model of what a good guy was so Wolf was not going to get past those road blocks.

Let’s the bantering begin. The way this author writes is just so funny that you get wrapped in the story right away. You right away the get sense of family, the sense of loss, for husband, parents, love, & trust. Yet, there is still hope for it all. Please try it out I know yourself I know you will enjoy it. Sizzling! The rescue team members of the Clearwater Marine patrol, led by sexy chief Dan 'Wolf' Wolford, are all heat! And reporter/blogger Becca Sinclair wants the community to know it. Any book that starts off "My neighbor is a man-whore..." has got to be good, right? That one line drew me in right away. Add in a thong-stealing German shepherd and a nosy old biddy that plays matchmaker, and Santa is a frolicking good time!

Becca's boss promises if her blog reaches a certain number of followers, she can have her own column in the daily newspaper. After observing the number of females that come and go from her new neighbor's apartment, she decides to report about his comings and goings...without using his real name. She discovers that you can't judge a book by its cover when Wolf invites her to his birthday party and introduces her to his brother, four sisters, and their significant others. The minute Wolf met red-haired beauty, Becca, he wanted her, and what Wolf wants, he usually gets. However, Becca's stint as a reporter rubs him the wrong way. When he finds out her blog is actually about him, he has a lot to overcome if he wants to keep her in his life.
I like Ms. Davis' writing style. It's fun and upbeat, and she does secondary characters very well. I liked Becca and Wolf, although I thought he was a little too arrogant and his whole hating reporters thing was kind of silly. His family background, however, was endearing. Becca's back story was more interesting, and it would have been nice to see her ex come out of the woodwork so Wolf could deal with him face to face. I would have liked that better than the side plot of the creepy toy store owner. Still, I loved the dynamics between all the characters, and Ms. Davis develops them well. I've read two in this series, and I'm looking forward to reading the last two!

Santa Wore Leathers by Vonnie Davis

The title and cover of 'Santa Wore Leathers' drew me right into this book even though I read it out of season.

Becca, a reporter still hurting from her failed marriage uses her witty blog to further her career. The current subject is her new neighbour an undoubtedly sexy man with the morals of an alley cat.

Einstein her lovable German Shepherd dog is a delight. His penchant for stealing Becca's sexy underwear and notable matchmaking skills appeals to all the doggy lovers like me.

When Becca meets Dan a.k.a. Wolf she feels an instant attraction but is unwilling to set herself up for another fall. Dan is smitten and determined to charm her into his bed. Misunderstandings and interventions from senior neighbours all add to the humour and complexity of this love story.

This not a traditional Christmas romance, the sentiment and goodwill attached to the season are interwoven into the storyline but the powerful interplay between Becca and Wolf as they learn to trust takes centre stage. The plot and characters are well developed and it reads more like a novel than a novella.

'Santa Wore Leathers' is a sexy, feel good romance. A recommended read whatever the season.

I had to think long and hard about whether to give this book 4* or 5* but in the end it had to be 5*. It just ticked every box for me!

Eye catching cover - yep
Tattooed hunk - yep
Hunk in leathers on a harley - yep
Hunk who is a firefighter - yep
Intelligent German Shepherd - yep

OK I know that makes me sound a bit shallow but what Vonnie Davis has managed to pack into her fairly short book was so freaking good that as soon as I've posted this review I'm going straight back to start it all over again.

The book is a romance, but not of the sickly sweet variety, set in the lead up to Christmas. It had me laughing out loud more than once - especially Einstein, the dog, and his underwear stealing antics. The "intimate" scenes sizzled (definitely not a book for under 18s!), I loved the writing style, the way that "Wolf", the male lead character, was so protective of his siblings, Becca (the female character) and her blog, oh yes and Mrs Minelli the elderly neighbour!

If I had any complaints at all, I would have loved it to be longer, much longer! The author had so many secondary characters in the book that I am sure she had enough material for further stories based around them and they would instantly be added to my TBR list!

All in all great book, well worth reading!

What a lovely festive read this is, although if I'm honest it was way too short, I could have handled another few chapters as I was enjoying it, I'm hoping there'll be a New Year follow up.

Becca isn't looking forward to Christmas this year, she's no intention of looking for a new man after her cheating ex husband dumped her cruelly, all she wants is readers for her blog, a blog I'd love to follow in real life where she talks about the 'man-whore' who lives next door.

Trouble is, he's not really a man whore at all, he's an extremely gorgeous ex navy seal turned fireman who has gone above and beyond for his family, Wolf is one hot hunk.

Things don't start off well between the two, Becca has a wicked tongue and comebacks which make for very entertaining reading, and a dog who is so besotted with her neighbour he practically shares the entire contents of her knicker drawer with him.

There are funny moments, sad moments, family moments, and drama in this book, it's all packed in there. So hopefully the author is reading this and will let us have more stories about Wolf and Becca and the various characters, I'd love to know if Quinn and Cassie get together for a start, and it's a shame the book finished before Christmas Day itself.

Meantime I'm going to go grab a coffee and have naughty thoughts about a sexy Santa in black leathers astride a Harley!

Santa Wore Leathers. Vonnie Davis

Review from Jeannie Zelos Book Reviews.

Having just read a couple of fairly heavy paranormals I wanted something light and easy – and this was just perfect. ….....its a short, sweet read, with some great humour. Becca's a lovely girl, dumped by her ex on Christmas Eve she's not ready for a new relationship. Then the man next door moves in, sex on legs, he has a steady stream of gorgeous women visiting him. Becca writes about him in her blog, calls him the man whore, and describes him and his visitors in a humorous, whimsical way. She needs to get the blog stepped up as part of her career move. Then she learns more about Wolf, as her neighbour is called, events bring them together and then...just when all's going well he learns she's a reporter – and he hates those...
Its a gentle romance, with some spicy parts, lots of humour – and I love Einstein her dog, and his penchant for her underwear....if you're looking for something light to while away an hour or so this is perfect. Its a short read at 112 pages, but that's what many busy people want, a book they can finish. Personally I usually want longer books, but sometimes, as in this instance, I just want a light, quick and easy read and this does that.
Stars: four. Fun read, too light for a five from me but a good four.

Sweet, HOT, short story!

Becca Sinclair had been burned by her ex-husband badly, and right at Christmas time too. So the last thing she's impressed by is the revolving door at her new, gorgeous, next door neighbor's house. In fact, his antics have become fodder for her Blog and she is determined to ignore the man. Her only problem with that, is that her beloved dog Einstein has suddenly developed a passion for stealing her underwear out of her drawer and delivering it to the stud next door.

For Dan Wolford, aka Wolf, life is starting to settle down now that his brother is married and his sisters have all grown up. Leaving the Navy to come home and take care of his siblings after the sudden loss of his parents was hard, but he wouldn't have it any other way. So now that he's bought himself a house, and has a job that gives him fulfillment, he's looking for that special someone to share his life with. He also has an idea who that someone might be - his beautiful new neighbor Becca.

What happens when a female reporter who has trust issues meets up with the guy she thinks is the ultimate player? What happens when a guy who hates reporters finds out his dream Lady is a reporter? You'll have to read it and see! Just make sure you have a nice tall glass of cold liquid to drink while you're reading.

**This book was given to me by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It was one of those I just wanted to keep reading and reading until I finished, but at the same time I didn't want to finish because then it would be over and there would be no more "Santa Wore Leathers" for me to read.

Becca and Wolf are both fantastic characters you can't help but love. Based on the title I expected Wolf to be a bad boy biker. And, although he does ride a Harley and wear leathers I wouldn't classify him as a bad boy. He's too sweet, caring and giving to give you the image of him being a bad boy. He's definitely sexy though! I love that he's immediately drawn to Becca and although perplexed by those strong feelings he has when he barely knows her he does his best to share her that he's interested and worth her time. Becca has some serious relationship scars and although she's physically attracted to Wolf she fights finding out if there's more to it because she's positive he's a dog and a player, which is all based off of her experience with other men, not Wolf himself. Thankfully, eventually Wolf breaks down Becca's walls by being there for her and taking care of her and she sees that all men aren't like her ex or her father.

"Santa Wore Leathers" had potential. It had some really good and funny moments but it had a tendency to become muddled and rushed. I had very little sympathy for Becca Sinclair. She was irritating and came off as snooty, treating her new neighbor, Dan "Wolf" Wolford, like crap. Thank goodness she had Einstein, her beloved dog, because, more often than not, he was her only saving grace. Good boy, Einstein! ^.^

Wolf seemed like a good guy but while I could somehow understand his hang-ups regarding reporters, it got to the point of being downright illogical, especially since his siblings didn't share the same hatred for them. Plus, the progression of his feelings for her from lust to love went on warp speed... what was he, a glutton for punishment? She treated him terribly and then he realized he was in love with her? What the...?! I didn't feel any real connection between the two...but maybe that was because I just didn't like Becca.

Like I said in the beginning, this book had potential. It had a good premise and Einstein was a blast. There were just missed opportunities to make the book even better than what it was.

Three stars out of five for "Santa Wore Leathers" (and most of those are due to Einstein!). ^.^

Received from Netgalley for an honest review!

This book begins when Becca meets her man-whore next door neighbor for the first time. She knew he was good looking, but she didn't realize how much of an attraction she would actually have to him. And he who calls himself Wolf feels the same way about her. Except he's not really against them being together, he is bound and determined to make her his. So he goes all out doing his best to charm her to be his. And because of Becca's past she's putting up a major fight when it comes to his charms, she wants nothing to do with him.. But as Christmas comes closer these two seem to have a hard time fighter off their connection!

This book was cute, and funny! I really enjoyed it. It is about two people who have to learn to trust, and love. But it was a very sweet Christmas story as well! And I laughed so often during this book. I constantly had a smile on my face! So Over all I thought the book was very good! And it made me want to get into the Christmas spirit already this year!

Becca Sinclair has a blog called "the things men do" and has 12 hundred followers on it, she needs 15 hundred to be given her own column at the Clearwater daily paper.

I really like books were the characters shine through the pages. Becca had me giggling with her hard case exterior, but mushy insides which made for comedic and sometimes painful times. Dan aka Wolf also had me giggling with his no shit attitude and his sharp quick witt.

Both he Becca had a lovely rapport and it really did shine making for a really good read. By god it's mushy and has some seriously cheesy lines in it, but sometimes we need a book like that to mix it up a bit don't we?

It might be a Christmas book, but it's a book you can read any time of the year.
The plot was good, the back plots were good, the characters were good, so overall I'd say it's good :)

I am, of course, a huge fan of Vonnie Davis's. She writes with an emotional realism that I need in my books and she usually couples it with characters you could meet in real life, but she has outdone herself with this one. This one was superb. It's laugh out loud funny in parts (and I mean that...chapter six-ish had me in tears I was laughing so hard), wonderful depth of emotion that I'm used to from her, characters you expect to find living next door (including the secondaries), chemistry that is off the charts (this is her sexiest book yet! *phew*). And a hero to die for. Oh Wolf is swoon worthy. An ex-SEAL firefighter with a heart of gold? Oh my. *fans self*

Pardon my french, but I enjoyed the hell out of this book. If you're thinking about picking it up, you won't be disappointed.

"Maybe you ought to give up men for Bingo and water aerobics."

LMAO! There are comedic zingers like this sprinkled throughout this story about two opposites who definitely attract and heat up the page. Wolf's sexy, alpha charmer personality was a nice counter-balance to the all-up-in-her-head heroine, Becca. I kept me wishing Wolf would try on those damn leathers already! He was out-going, but I loved that he managed to be vulnerable at the same time. Too often I think the heroes are cookie-cutter crafted, but not Wolf. Finally, a hero who writes poetry - yes!

Ms Davis has a very strong voice that will bring me back to her books. The sex was hot, the banter crisp, and the characters varied and interesting. Definitely a fun, light-hearted read. I hope there's more to come with these characters because I'm invested. :)

A sizzling holiday read

SANTA WORE LEATHERS delivers… A sassy blogger/reporter heroine, an endearing panty-stealing canine, and one hunk of an ex-SEAL-turned marine rescuer Santa. In leathers. In such a short story, the author managed to pack in everything you could want, and she tied it up nicely with a bow. The steamy chemistry between the hero and heroine sizzled from the beginning and only boiled hotter (the scene with the feather pen comes to mind…) The added touch of humour made me smile and the sweetly satisfying romance brought a tear to my eyes. Anyone who’s a fan of Chicago Fire and other similar shows will LOVE this story, and hopefully, series. Definitely a recommended read!

I got this book as a prize. This is the first book I read by Vonnie Davis. Becca Sinclair is a news reporter who loves her job. Becca Sinclair had been burned by her ex-husband badly, and right at Christmas time too and is a little man-shy because of it. She starts blogging about her hot man-whore neighbor, but soon realizes that she's got it all wrong. Fireman Wolf is the essence of hunky hero, but also has his own scars. When he lost both his parents he gave up his military career in order to raise his younger siblings and made any number of sacrifices for them. What happens when you have a Firefighter with trust issues and a female reporter with trust issues? Well I can't tell you, you will have to read the book to find out. I truly enjoyed this book!!
