good photos and illustrations of varied battle sites, from Hastings to Vietnam. far too big for a travel guide though! i found the section on world war one the most interesting.

Tim Newark has written a splendid coffee-table book full of colorful pictures, well-written summaries of major battles and useful diagrams of the different battlefields. I will definitely be taking this along on my next trip to any major battlefield.

I have read several other books that were guides to significant battles and I unfortunately, think this was the worst that I have read.
