.The case in this third volume involves an old enemy of the heroine who has the nerve to request her services in defending him in court. Meantime, her personal life is topsy turvy with Ted's absence. So many different plot lines that all work together beautifully. Powerful messages are painted about honor, integrity, life as we know it, as well as the hereafter. It takes guts to include what many readers feel are controversial topics.

This story again portrayed how basic rights were nonexistent for the lower classes, clearly reflecting how much the legal system has changed since the era of unfavorable opinions and archaic properties based on one's class or origin. Prejudice and hatred ruled with n iron fist. You also discover just how far the legal field has changed since then. The elite in the social ladder ruled with extreme hostility which seems so preposterous in today's times.

This series provides compelling entertainment, accurate historical facts, and spotlights many injustices of the times, along with detailed courtroom drama, based in the early 1900s in California. It is a time of great changes in the world, many positive and some negative. Fascinating things were happening, which allowed Kit Shannon, a female, to actually stand up in her world, for those who needed legal assistance, which had blatantly been a men's world up to that point.

I found myself cheering for the courageous heroine, who was almost always looked down upon because she was a woman, working in a man's world, trying to fight legal battles for those less fortunate that had been wronged byte legal system. I am so grateful that I did not live in that era.

I was beyond thrilled when her determination assisted her in overcoming obstacles. The demonstration of her duty to help others, based on her faith in God, was incredible.

This book is able to stand on its own, it is clean, and there is a prevalent H.E.A.

I think I was distracted but I liked it a little less than the other one. The end where *redacted* happened made me very happy and a little giddy, I can get like that with romance. Overall the book was solid and fit the vibe I was coming for. And.... Im dead hooked on the next book soooo Ill give the author a score!

The cheesiness keeps getting worse with each book. At one point I nearly gagged because of the overt preaching (as I stated in a previous review...there is no instance that I can possibly think of that would warrant the insertion of a partial or complete text of a sermon in a work of fiction). On top of that there was a completely cliché conversion to top it off. (The conversion wasn't sudden. It actually should have taken place at that particular point in the plot. The cheesiness came from the explanation of that conversion.)

In the end though, good storytelling won out. Although I wish that some of the characters, Heath Sloate for instance, hadn't been portrayed as stereotypically evil (seriously, it was almost Scooby Do villain bad) or good (for that matter), the plot was convincing and was told in a halfway decent manner.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I'll keep this series. It's really no fun to read a book that I have to keep from rolling my eyes at once or twice every couple chapters.

Angels of Mercy best of the three

I really enjoyed Angels of Mercy. I wondered for awhile if Kit was going to get Officer Hanratty off the murder charge. Boy was the end a nail biter. Very glad she and Ted are getting married..and so glad Gus got that scoundrel out of Aunt Freddy's Rom so Ted could lead her to Jesus. Great book. Ready to read# 4.

Riveting!

The authors outdid themselves in how they developed the plot. The most amazing thing is how they show that God sees and is always in control even when things seem at their worst. What I love about the main character, Kit Shannon is her steadfast faith in her God and that she never faltered in her deep trust of her Savior, clinging to the Word of God as absolute truth and not letting anything sway her from that.

I absolutely loved this book! I felt like I was cheering for Kit Shannon as she fought battle after battle. Glad to see Ted again and his friend Gus. A glimpse into crime and its roots of infiltration into the justice system as Kit goes forth. And Corazon was a fun character as well. A book that's hard to put down!

Wow, wow each book in this series just keeps getting better. Love it.

Mr. Bell gets better and better. Over the last couple months I have been pretty much bedridden. I was lucky enough to find an author that has kept me entertained. I have read at the least 20 of Mr. Bell's books. I'm going to book 4 of the series. Excellent.

Another Page-Turner!

Once again, the account of Kit Shannon, criminal lawyer in the early 1900s, kept me turning pages to find out where and how the next bits of evidence would come forth. The writing is both entertaining and inspirational.

Amazing ending.

I don't believe I have read any of Tracie Peterson's books, but I am enjoying her collaboration with James Scott Bell on The Trials of Kit Shannon series. The ending of this book caught me totally by surprise.

Another fast and fun read

Again, the author’s don’t disappoint in continuing the saga of Kit and those around her. Interesting and entertaining, especially given our strange circumstances due to COVID 19.

Kit keeps on

Though I read two of her previous books I still could not put this one down. It was sad to say goodbye to one of my favorite characters but it was still a sweet story. I didn't mind saying goodbye to my least favorite characters. I hope you enjoy this story too.

Blasé story line concerning pettiness and corruption, but the heroine does a remarkable job in and out of the courtroom. Fascinating drama surrounding the law and watching God at work.

I enjoy the series of Kitt Shannon. Don't like the way women are treated during this period of time in history but enjoy how she is able to over come.

A very good book with a female lawyer arguing her case before crooked prosecutors and judges, in the early 1900's. Suspense, Christian, and romance included.

After the third book in this series of Kit Shannon, lawyer of Los Angelos defender of the wrongly accused, I'm ready for something new. The good thing is that Ted does come back and after making his peace with the loss of his leg and the acceptance of God in his life he asks Kit to marry him. Otherwise, this book is more of the same. Kit is hired to defend a Ed Hanratty, a police officer, who failed to tell the whole truth in a previous case. She hesitates to be his counsel because of her belief that he might be guilty as charged, but gives him a chance. He was being set up by the district attorney and the Examinor newspaper owner, Mr. Heist in hopes of furthering their political careers and wealth. The truth was discovered and the guilty charged. Meanwhile, Aunt Freddy's health is declining and her faith is in the fortune reader, Mr. stillwater who is working for Mr. Sloat to get revenge on Kit for her disgrace of his reputation. They don't succeed in getting all of Freddy's money because at the end she changes her will back to give it to kit and not the science religion institute. Before it is all over, Elinor Wynn, the not so nice ex-fiance of Ted kills Sloat in "self defense" and asks for Kit's help. She turns the other cheek and agrees to defend her knowing the skum that sloat was. Ted gets a wooden leg so he can fly again and kit donates to the bible church where ted will be the financial adviser.

I read this book because it is about an 18 year old girl who went to Africa to volunteer with a group called Mercy Ships. My daughter who is 18 is just about to set out for the same trip. The story is appealing to aolescent girls and I think gives a somewhat realistic picture of what a young woman might encounter on going to Africa for the first time on a humanitarian and Christian mission. I appreciated the fact that it isn't all surgary sweet or just a teenage romance for Christian girls.

Well written stories of Faith and True justice

Having read three stories in this series so far, I would encourage everyone to read about this remarkable woman. You won't be able to stop reading once you start. Excellent writing and original story lines, refreshing in this day and time. I look forward to the rest of the books on Kit Shannon. I found her faith in God inspiring.

Good Series

I read the first book, which led me to #2 and on to 3. I didn't regret it, nor the minor expense. Bell is a good author, his main character is well developed and interesting, as are the supporting ones. Along with the absence of lustful nonsense, these 3 were well worth my time.

This is the final book in the Kit Shannon mystery series. I am so sad that there are no more.

I would classify the series as:

Historical fiction
Mystery
Fundamentalist Christian viewpoint
Nancy Drew for adults
Strong female as main character
