Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.

These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.

- childhood besties
- single dad

Trevor moves back to Christmas Falls with his adorable little girl Holly, in the hopes to give her the same wonderful childhood he had while living there as a kid.

He also reconnects with the best friend he never stopped thinking by about, Trey, and two realize their feelings were definitely more than friendly towards each other way back when and a romance sparks between them as adults.

The terrific twosome was cute, but it was honestly Holly totally stole the show in Under the Mistle-tome. I love that kid 🤣

I love Sammi Cee, and this book is no exception. Her books are super low angst and so full of good feelings. I really enjoy stories about single fathers. It’s one of my favorite tropes. Holly was simply adorable.

This is my favorite book in the series so far.

There’s zero drama or angst in this book. It’s a feel-good story throughout. The only thing I can think about that was bad would be Trevor’s snobby mother. The author tried to make good with Edith later, and maybe she did, but I’ve met too many people like her in the real world. For that reason, I couldn’t bring myself to give the woman a pass.

I adored Trevor and Trey together. Neither man had their foot out the door of the town like some of the characters in the other books. There’s no internal monologue about not being sure if they want to stay in Christmas Falls. There’s literally no drama at all. It was simply two former best friends reconnecting and discovering that they belong together forever. Holly just made everything complete.

Christmas Falls is every bit as awesome as it has been since the first book. It’s way over the top during the holiday season, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Under The Mistle-tome was a sweet second chance romance between childhood besties who had lost touch and reconnected when Trevor moves back to his childhood town - Christmas Falls... with his adorable young daughter in tow!

This book was hallmark sweet with just a little spice and a very nice family who welcomed Trevor and Holly home for the holidays and for good...

This book was short and sweet, but it tied up all the loose ends and made me smile, something every good holiday story should.

No plot, just Christmas vibes. I’m a reader who prefers a bit of tension to the plot to keep me flipping the pages and there’s nothing here that brings tension or much interest in general for me. It’s also rare for me to not find kids in romance super awkward and this kid is awkward to me. Your mileage may vary.

This was a cute story about two former childhood best friends who reconnect after many years away (again with this trope?). The wrinkle here is that one of the guys has a four year old daughter. Frankly, children in romance books are kinda ick to me, but whatever. She was pretty annoying and I hate having to read dialog written for a child who hasn't learned basic grammar skills yet. So many ughs with this kid.

Regardless, the story is good overall, if not all that unique. I'll round this up to 3 stars from 2.5 mainly because the writing (other than the child's speech) was good and it kept me interested.

Trevor moves with his daughter back to Christmas Falls and back to the company of his best friend Trey. The pair pick up immediately where they left off but more sparks between them, which was always there, but held secret.

This is quick and cute and FINALLY a book in the series that didn't have the "omg he might leave though?" trope.

This was cute. Holly, the daughter, felt exhausting. Not a charming kid at all. But I hate almost all kids so...

I surprised how much I hated this book. I mean, childhood friends to lovers and one of them owns a bookstore. Sign me up. The only thing good about this book is it was short. It was so bad that it seemed really long. The paragraphs weren’t indented which was extremely annoying. The kids dialogue was annoying. It was very juvenile…they were flipping each other the bird. Really? I am clearly in the minority but my opinion is this book is terrible.

I'm firmly split on this book, parts of it I really enjoyed, others I didn't think were done as well and overall it felt like things just wrapped up a bit too neatly.

Still, it's not a bad book by any stretch, I love the Christmas Falls setting so it was nice to be back there and this time, it's Trey, who owns the book shop, who's story is up.

It's a kind of "second chance" romance in that his best friend Trevor, the guy he realised he had a crush on when they were teenagers, just before his family moved away, has come back to town, only he's got a daughter with him too.

And herein is where my main issue lies. I know children develop at different rates, there's no one size fits all but I'm sorry, Holly didn't sound like a four-year-old child to me at all.

At one point she tries to say "advice" but can't and so, instead, swaps to saying "do what they said", or words to the effect of. And I'm sorry, but for me, it's way too difficult to believe that a four-year-old has the cognitive function to be able to switch up from a word they don't know how to pronounce to actually understanding what its functionality means.

This was only one of the examples that stuck out for me where her speaking switched between what I'd expect from a child that age - some sentences around simple understanding and appropriate vocabulary - and her sounding like she was almost a teenager.

However, Holly as a character for advancing the story along was absolutely delightful and I really appreciated that the whole book was no angst, a nice reconnection with people who you know love you and a sweet romance that doesn't actually kick in until almost three quarters of the book is done but is worth the wait.

Christmas Falls serie vol.5
Sammi Cee

Adorable story between two best friends who hadn't had any contact in years and reconnect during the holidays in Christmas Fall.
Trevor and Trey has been best friend joined at the hip for all their childhood, they were always together and Trey's family loved Trevor like he was another son. Then, when they were 15, Trevor left because his father had a better job offer and his mother disliked their small town.
After 10 years and with an adorable little daughter, Trevor moves back to Christmas Fall and he and T are finally reunited.

I liked this story, Holly stole all the attention because she's the most adorable girl ever (her mispronounced words are so cute); Trevor and Trey are amazing and perfect for each other and T's family is great.
What prevented me from giving an higher rate:
It all happened too easily, the MCs did really have a conversation about their new relationship or what they wanted. Everyone was just on board with the two of them together.

I received an ARC of this book from Neon Rainbow and this is my honest review.

Maybe, now is the time? Trevor, returns to Christmas Falls hoping to give his daughter, Holly the life growing up he experienced. A bonus is reuniting with his best friend, Trey. Trey, took over the family book store and he didn't think he could be happier. Then his bestie Trevor returned with the added bonus of Holly. With a supportive family and the delightful Holly, will Trey adn Trevor get the ending they maybe should have? This is such a warm loving story you can feel it through the story. Trey, has an absolutely wonderful family that adds to the joy of the story. The author has created an amazing group of loving supportive people, you almost wish you had relatives like this. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

He meets up again with his oldest and closest friend, Trey, owner of the local bookstore.
I liked the way everyone accepted him back and Trey's mom took Holly under her wing.

Under The Mistle-tome by Sammi Cee is part of the Christmas Falls series by multiple authors. This book is about Trey and Trevor, but also about Holly. I loved their story. They were so good together and Holly was a cutie. T and Trevor's story was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.

I was excited for this one since it was about a bookshop owner and a single dad but found it very disappointing. The Christmas events in the town were glossed over. There were no obstacles for the couple. They just instantly reconnected as if no time had passed. The little girl was too much of a delight to be realistic. I also found the dialogue on the awkward side. It was just too sweet for me.

Under The Mistle-tome is the fifth book in the ‘Christmas Falls’ collection written by various authors. This stars Trevor, a single father, and Trey, a bookshop owner. This is told in first person from Trevor and Trey’s pov.

I’ve read a few books in this series so I’m familiar with Christmas Falls. I don’t feel that the town was as involved in the story as it was in the other books I’ve read. The town was mainly used for activities that Trevor took his daughter, Holly to.

The blurb is very brief but it explains the basics of the plot. Trevor moves back to Christmas Falls and reconnects with his childhood friend Trey, who now owns the bookshop that his parents used to run. This book says it’s a romance, but I wouldn’t say it is. There is very little romance. The men reconnect and then every activity pretty much revolves around Holly. She’s practically in every scene in the book. I would say the daughter is eighty percent of the story while the romance is twenty percent. I didn’t like that because I wanted to read a romance, not a story revolving around a child where all the characters would go gaga over her because she was just so cute and sweet. The supposed romance was Trevor and Trey and Holly traipsing around town doing things to entertain Holly. The men didn’t have any obstacles to overcome, just Trevor worrying that maybe Trey wouldn’t be interested in him because he had a daughter, and Trevor worrying about leaving his daughter with other Trey’s parents.

The author tried to explain away how the two men had similar names and that Trey was usually called ‘T,’ but that didn’t work because their voices sounded the same so it was easy to mix them up. I had to constantly go back to the beginning of the chapter to find out whose pov it was. Also, the author had Holly trying to be cutesy by constantly changing Trey’s name around. There was nothing unique about either man’s personality that made them interesting or complex. Holly’s voice was off. I think she was four, but her speech sounded like an adult tried to write like a young child but then the child would also say something that wasn’t childlike at all, even within the same sentence. The author relied heavily on the child to carry the plot to create the story.

There’s an inconsistency with Trey as he’s speaking to siblings on Skype. His sisters asked about Trevor and his daughter. Trey thinks he’s not going to tell them about Trevor’s history and the daughter since it’s Trevor’s story to tell. Then two or three pages later, Trey’s telling them all about Trevor’s past.

Finally, there was a tremendous amount of inner monologue which came across as telling, creating a distance between the characters so that I couldn’t get into what they were feeling.

Overall, I was disappointed in Under the Mistle-tome. Too much monologue and far too much revolving around Holly to create scenes and carry the plot. I’d barely call this a romance, more like a reconnecting. There are better holiday stories in this collection, so I don’t recommend this one. I give this book, 2 Stars.

a fantastic holiday story, with beautifully rendered scenes and great character

Rating: 4.5🌈

Under the Mistle-tome by Sammi Cee is the third book I’ve read in the multi-author Christmas Falls series and it’s my favorite one so far.

A best friends to lovers story, here the best friend from childhood is returning to Christmas Falls after a long separation and with an adorable daughter in tow.

Trevor’s cold family life that he and his young daughter, Holly, are leaving behind is sharply contrasted with the warmth and joyful welcome that awaits them at the familiar bookstore run by Trey and his heart warming family. Cee makes that bookstore, Season’s Readings, with its fun kids story times run by Eddie, hustling crowds of book loving people, and general air of welcoming spirit a place of reality for the reader. It grounds us and all the characters immediately.

It’s a place where the men can start their own journey back together as Trevor’s adorable little Holly adjusts to her new home, stealing hearts and scenes left and right.

Through Holly, the reader gets to view Christmas Falls as we should see it! Christmas Falls parades, the magical world of the town spreads out before Trevor and Holly as she sees it for the first time and Trevor remembers why he loves it so and needed to return. And Trey, see his town again and appreciates how special it is again.

This entire story is just a reminder of the importance of the community and spirit of the holiday season, whether it’s a large town celebration or a family coming together, home again in heart and place. Such a joy to read in every aspect.

If I had a quibble, it was the quick resolution for the manner Trevor was treated, and his daughter was treated by his parents . There was a later disclosure about her behavior but it did nothing to assuage the lack of full support from his father or the lack of apologies from either for what was really long term damaging behavior. If this was going to be an important element, then it needs just as thorough and satisfying ending.

Otherwise, a fantastic holiday story, with beautifully rendered scenes and great characters. I love it.

I haven't read too many of Sammi's books, the ones I have read though I have really enjoyed. Sammi's got a way with words, and her writing immediately draws you in, so much so, you get extremely invested into the happiness of the characters. I absolutely adore Holly-Berry, she is so adorable and knows how to get people wrapped around her fingers. That and she's also good at playing matchmaker. Her character was so cute and brought such a fantastic childlike glee and an innocent and adorable perspective of the holidays.

Trey and Trevor were dubbed the Dynamic Duo, (along with other names) when they were younger, they were best friends. When Trevor's parents moved, Trevor and Trey fell out of touch with each other. Now that Trevor's back in Christmas Falls they have a lot of catching up to do.

Trevor's character is a very wholesome one, he wasn't expecting to be a dad as soon as he did, but he's always wanted kids. He's such a good dad to Holly, and he's trying his best to make sure she has good long lasting memories of Christmas Falls just like he has. I absolutely adore how as soon as they arrived in the quaint small town he instantly went to find Trey. I thought their relationship developed really nicely, they took their time to reconnect all the while both of their feelings were smoldering after years of being smothered.

Trey's character was quite possibly my favorite, mainly because he owns and runs his very own bookstore. Spending all day with books sounds like a dream! When Trevor arrives back in town with Holly, he's shocked but also very excited to have his best friend back in his life. With Trevor and his daughter being around, Tre learns how to step away from his work, and realizes that spending time with those he loves is more important than being a workaholic.

This book was written extraordinarily well! The background this book takes place in was so lovely! A bookstore and descriptions of all the joys Christmas Falls has to offer was the perfect place settings. As I mentioned above all of the characters played a really magical part in this story, and each and every one made this story more impactful. I have always loved the found family aspect and it was executed and described greatly. Overall a terrific holiday romance story, with Greenwich, real trees, books, friends to lovers, found family, and of course plenty of love.

This is the fifth in the Christmas Falls series, but you do not have to read them all to appreciate them. Christmas Falls is a very happy holiday town. Trevor and his family lived here as he grew up, but his mother, who is pretty cold, didn’t like it much. Trevor loved the place, especially his best friend, Trey (Mr. T), and Trey’s family. As tends to happen, Trevor and T kept in touch for a while and then communication slowly faded away. Trey took over his family’s bookshop and misses his old friend. When Trevor and his daughter, Holly, have dinner with his parents, he suggests having Christmas in Christmas Falls. He wants to give Holly the type of holiday he had as a child. His mother isn’t for it, honestly his mother isn’t for much. Trevor is an artist and “Of course she’d think I couldn’t afford it. She’d never bothered to hide her disdain for my work even though I turned a pretty hefty profit.” When Trevor’s dad offers to take Mom, “I think it’s high time you address me as Edith”, on a Christmas cruise, he also encourages Trevor to go to Christmas Falls. So off he and Holly go.
Trevor shows Holly around and reconnects with the town, T, and family. It’s delightful to see them all. Trevor bought a house in Christmas Falls but told no one, so his appearance is a surprise, a very welcome one. It’s funny that neither told the other about being anything but straight while they both lived in Christmas Falls. Trey was very worried because (not knowing Trevor is gay) he had posted a picture of his boyfriend once and felt that was when Trevor stopped communicating. This turns out not to be the case but worry is worry.
This is a sweet story, no angst. I appreciated that Trey and Trevor didn’t just fall right into bed when they reconnected. They actually took a little time to do just that – reconnect. They were best friends but ten years apart, especially at 15-25 means they as adults were strangers. And Trevor has to worry about Holly. One thing about Holly – she is three years old and sometimes she spoke like a three-year-old, and sometimes she sounded far older. Her mispronunciations were cute, “It’s the Greenwich!”.
If you want something happy, holiday, and adorable, this is it. There are some believable changes in some of the characters, which made me happy.

4,5 stars for me
I feel like I'm repeating myself when I say this but I really love this series. Reading a new book from it feels a bit like coming home.
I feel comfortable visiting this town and enjoy it immensely every single time.

This story is not an exception. I had so much fun reading it.
I mean, what's no to love?
Likeable MCs as well as secondary characters, all the Christmassy feels, a lovely bookstore, friends to lovers, a really cute little girl and a wonderful and welcoming honorary family.

I really enjoyed how easy it was for Trevor and Mr. T - omg I loved the A-Team so I was in stitches over this – to connect again and refresh their old friendship. That it turned into so much more was all the sweeter.

I loved that there was no drama and conflicts after Trevor got back to Christmas Falls and how Mr. T's family enfolded him back, he always was like a second son for them and that hadn't changed. That really gave me the warm fuzzys.

The only thing, and probably why I'd say 4,5 stars instead of 5 is that really a lot of the story was about Holly, Trevor's little girl. I mean I totally get that she's the biggest part of his life and therefore a big part of the story as well. And I adored her and liked all the interactions. She was a sweet kid and I found it heartwarming seeing her get accepted as their first grandchild by T's parents – even if firstly as a honorary one.
I think she deserved it with how her real grandmother acted at the beginning.
And yet somehow it took a bit of time away from the building romantic relationship between Mr. T and Trevor.

Personally I was totally in the mood for something with kids and therefore up for it but I'd say it's possible that not everybody finds this the perfect gay romance story.

Overall: yes yes, I enjoyed it, very much. An I will definitely recommend it as well as read it again.

Here is the fifth novel in the new multi-author series (Christmas Falls): this is Sammi Cee's "Under The Mistle-tome."
["Hoping to give his young daughter, Holly, the joyful childhood he had, Trevor moves back to the one place he’s always considered home—Christmas Falls.

As happy as he is to be back in the festive atmosphere of the small charming town, it’s nothing compared to how excited he is to spend time with his best friend, Trey.

Taking over the family bookstore in the town he grew up in was all Trey had ever wanted. Until Trevor walked back into his life, proving his childhood crush had never completely faded.

And Trevor’s daughter? Well, the adorable girl quickly claims a piece of Trey’s heart.

With the help of a little holiday magic, these two men and one very determined little girl may get exactly what they need—a family."]

Kay, that first remeeting?! Sparks flew then. But when they got to know each other again? When they got closer and closer and fell slowly (quickly as fuck) in love? Wow.

And who wouldn't want to raise their daughter in a small town that's like family? Or surrounded by people who were more of a family than our own? Or with the best friend you ever had? That's magical. As magical as falling in love at Christmas (in a town addicted to it).

Under the Mistle-tome is a delightful holiday romance, full of love, family and the spirit of the Season!

Trevor Wessox , along with his four-year-old daughter Holly, make the move back to Christmas Falls, Illinois after living elsewhere for several years. It seems that the glorious Christmas-themed town impressed upon him as "home" while still a youth.... so much so that it is the only place suitable for him and his daughter to live presently. Moving back to the town also comes with an added bonus - local bookshop owner and Trevor's best friend and ex-lover, Trey. Although the two had lost touch with each other over the years, the spark of close affection clearly hasn't died.

This novel is one of the most positive, heartwarming and entertaining romances I've ever read! Sammi Cee is a master at writing character development, and this book is certainly no exception. Trevor and Trey have some heavy history together from when they lived in Christmas Falls as adolescents.

Years later, the two men reconnect, and it seems that they are destined to pick up right where they left off six years ago. The sensual imagery, the spirit of the holiday Season and the sense of peace, love and joy figure prominently in the plot of the book. The secondary characters in this novel are indispensable as well, all adding a sense of closeness, reconnection and family being ‘home for the Holidays’.

An absolutely fabulous holiday romance that you shouldn’t miss!! 10 stars!!

UNDER THE MISTLE-TOME is the fifth book in the Christmas Falls series. Christmas Falls is a multi-author series. The books are standalones and can be read in any order.

Trevor has memories of Christmas Falls being some of the happiest in his life. Leaving his best friend, Trey or T was horrible but seeing him through the years has been good but being in Christmas Falls with him would be so much better. After a particular rough Christmas Trevor makes the decision for him and his daughter Holly to move back to where he was the happiest.

Taking over the family book shop is all Trey has ever wanted. It's hard work but he is thriving even though Christmas is his busy season he doesn't miss the moment Trevor walks back into his life standing in the book shop. Trey's family has always considered Trevor has one of their own and that doesn't change when Trevor is back in town with his daughter. Trevor and Holly are treated as they never left which make Trevor sad that he didn't keep in touch especially with Trey.

Reuniting with your best friend is special but reuniting and both realizing you have an attraction and chemistry off the charts is amazing. I loved Holly she was adorable. Trevor and Trey falling in love was so heartfelt and fun. Under the Mistle-tome was such a fun holiday read.

Sammi Cee is a new to me author and I can't wait to read more from her!

I was given a free copy of this book.

UNDER THE MISTLE-TOME is the fifth book in the Christmas Falls series. In it, we meet Trey, owner of Seasons Readings, and Trevor, who moved away and has now returned with his daughter. This is First Love/Second Chance at its finest!

First thing I need to say though is Holly-Berry. She is a delight and steals every scene she's in. I loved how her wisdom came across, and how she easily accepted Mr T! I won't tell you how I snorted when I read that! I loved the A-Team when I was younger, so that was just perfect.

As for Trey and Trevor, well, they had a rock-solid friendship to fall back on, so it was no stretch of the imagination that things would go in the direction they did. What I loved was how it was written, with both of them wanting to connect as friends first, and not wanting to mess Miss Holly about.

One came I thought was great was that of Arlo and Emerson. It was so good to see it from a different perspective.

All in all, a great addition to the series, and a story I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.
