"Centering totally on the nature and ministry of Christian coaching, Miller and Hall provide an overview of the growth and development of coaching and its application to Christian ministry. They show core coaching skills and essential and supporting coaching skills. The core skills of focused listening and asking powerful questions reappear throughout the book as the authors demonstrate in real life situations how to use them.Miller and Hall draw on the experiences and writings of other authors to share the most important models a new coach can use while emphasizing the ways to create a relationship with a client and the absolute importance of doing everything to maintain that relationship in trust and integrity."
Definitely one of the best books on coaching from a Christian perspective. It's practical, sharing knowledge that works in the real world. It's a Top 5 coaching book for me.
A pretty good book on Christian coaching that is very practical and clearly written. Filled with sample conversations to illustrate the concepts, and the conversations are largely realistic and helpful (unlike the cheesy stuff in most books). The body of the book deals with the primary skills of coaching (like listening, asking precise questions, encouraging action, etc.) and also goes on to explain how a coaching approach can enrich many other aspects of ministry.
A very interesting book on coaching. I appreciated the practical and philosophical elements the authors discussed. If you are interested in coaching, this book is helpful as a basic starter.
