Kaari Utrio on neljän vuosikymmenen ajan ollut yksi Suomen suosituimpia kirjailijoita. Hänen historiallisia romaanejaan ja tietokirjojaan lukee koko kansa jo kolmessa polvessa. Utrio korostaa teoksissaan naisen merkitystä ja voimaa, ja samalla vastuuta, yhteiskunnan koossapitävänä tekijänä. Hänen kirjoissaan nousee hämärästä esiin arjen historia ja lapsen historia. A story from 11th century Finland, retold. Despite the many illustrations, this is not a book for a young person. The story is a dark one about arrogance, unkindness, hatred, bigotry, subjugation of women, witchcraft, murder. But it is an engaging story. The photographic illustrations, featuring jewelry from Kalevala Koru Oy, are beautiful and imaginative.

This is one of the only ones in english currently in the country all the other ones are gone.
This is a story of a married woman, a foreing merchant, love and fighting to have what you want even when it's an abusive man's wife.
