Dr. Charles F. Stanley is the senior pastor of First Baptist Church Atlanta, founder of In Touch Ministries, and a New York Times best-selling author who has written more than fifty books, and has sold more than nine million copies. He demonstrates a keen awareness of people's needs and provides Christ-centered, biblically-based principles for everyday life.

Charles Frazier Stanley was born September 25, 1932, in the small town of Dry Fork, Virginia. The only child of Charley and Rebecca Stanley, Charles came into the world during a time when the entire nation felt the grip of the Great Depression. To make matters worse, just nine months later, his father Charley died at the young age of 29.

However, Charles refused to let the Great Depression or the difficulties of his life define him. Instead, like his father and grandfather before him, he clung to God’s Word and took up the mantle to preach the gospel to whoever would listen.

Dr. Stanley’s motivation is best represented by the truth found in Acts 20:24, “Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love.” This is because, as he says, “It is the Word of God and the work of God that changes people’s lives.”

Dr. Stanley’s teachings can be heard weekly at First Baptist Church Atlanta, daily on “In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley” radio and television broadcasts on more than 2,800 stations around the world, on the Internet at intouch.org, through the In Touch Messenger, and in the monthly, award-winning In Touch magazine.

Excellent resource

I have read many good books on the topic of the Holy Spirit.
Charles Stanley has become my favorite author on the subject.
His explanations and examples are easy to understand and follow. Obedience to the Word of God is how we truly begin to find what we have been looking for from the start. Living a spirit filled life, guided by the Holy Spirit is God's gift to every believer.

It's not a long book, but very deep in its contents. Dr Stanley concisely and clearly explains who the Holy Spirit is and what He means to us Christians. This book gave me deeper understanding of the importance of the Holy Spirit - and helped me improve my prayer life - I especially love the prayer Dr Stanley writes in the section 5. It doesn't take long to finish this book, but it's a kind of book that I want to (and need to) read over and over again to grow my faith.

Get to know the Holy Spirit

This book is embedded with so much wisdom you wouldn’t even learn in church. The Holy Spirit is the least mentioned personification of the trinity, not just in church, but in our Christian culture. I’m glad that this book emphasized on who the Holy Spirit is and has included practical methods on his role for our daily lives.

It's always good to read inspirational books. This helped me realize that I might not be calling the Holy Spirit "It" but it has helped me understand why people do. The best inspirational book to read aren't Self-Help books, it would be the Bible itself. That is the only true book anyone needs to help them get out of the messes their in. These other "self-help" books help you understand something things better that you may not able to find answers to in the bible. That's why God puts teachers out there to help us learn. I'm a huge fan of Charles Stanley anyway. God has given him an authority to teach and he teaches with the power of God!

One of the most difficult topics has been teach in a very simple and fair way. To me, it is always difficult to understand the concept of the Holy Spirit, especially too many church has been over emphasis the power of the spirit makes me hesitated sometimes to learn about the topic. This little book has answered me question for several years, and help me not to be afraid of seeking my spiritual gift, yet, not get lost in it. Love it!

I enjoy books by Charles Stanley and he hits the spot with a book on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the part of the triune God that I know the least about. Good primer-just wish it had been longer.

Not strong enough to hold my interest. I found myself re-reading entire sections, not because I didn't understand what the author was saying, but because I was easily distracted from the read.
