This book is about to get the knowledge of the proporcion in the lights and shadow to a new direccion in a easy language but if you what a basic level for the valued to the proporcion to take photos in a basic understanding in to the lights and shadow to take pictures no experience is perfect this book is a good guideline for you. But if you what a basic understanding of in drawing is not going to work has fully you what to run in to.

But it helps to place in perspective all types of formulation analyses with a good writing the proporcion in natural light and artificial light. Up,down, front, back, sides and diffuse lighting that come in all directions.

Not very much here. Some decent partial analysis of cast shadow, but really nothing on shading and its use in depiction of form. Very formulaic and it reads like a person yelling.

Good information and pretty well in depth. It is written a little like a geometry book with angles and labels and intersection lines. Sometimes you forget you are reading an artist book.

The information of how the sun or light source hits an object at different angles and how that will affect its shadow is good information but when you have to find line AB and cd and horizontal supporting surface at point b1, it becomes a little complicated.

The figures are nice with all the angles marked on them and he directs you to which figure he is referring to, but sometimes you have to flip back a page or two.

The exercises are nice at the end.

The writing is done with engineering precision. No technical details are omitted in the instructions given on how the render common shapes while illustrating the effect of lighting
