Move over dog lovers, "man" is getting inspurrrration from a new best friend-cats! God placed cats on earth with a special mission-to provide unconditional God-like love and support to their owners. In Good Mews, Kitty Chappell captures the playful and inquisitive characteristics we all love about the feline species, and she turns everyday occurrences into a practical life application. Her uplifting stories parallel real life circumstances in the overall scheme of God's view, ending with a scripture tie-in. It's a simple and fun approach to understanding ourselves and God a little better, and maybe even our cats, too! Foreword by Martha Bolton, who's written comedy for performers such as Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, and Mark Lowry. A great book for devotions!
The author turns her cats' antics into stories teaching about a Christian's walk with the Lord. Each story is accompanied by a Scripture and 3 cat quotes. As a cat lover, these resonated with me! It would make a great gift for Christian crazy cat ladies or any other Christian who loves cats and wants to spend a few minutes each day thinking about cats and their relationship with God.
A thought provoking read - lessons from cats. May your faith keep you strong in good and bad times.
“Baths are good for us. Whether it’s a bath to clean our bodies or God’s love bath to clean or lives and attitudes, we’re always better off to just accept the cleansing, instead of fighting it.”
“You created only one me, I am unique and have a special place to fill in eternity’s plan. Help me to resist the temptation to try to fit myself into someone else’s mold.”
“Just relax and wait for God’s perfect timing.”
“How many times do I go back and keep begging God to let me have my way about something when it is clear He has other plans for me!”
I rather enjoyed this devotional. It was interesting to see what life lessons the author had learned from just observing her cats. And then being able to turn them to God was even better. A definite spirit lifter. I recommend.
The writing is great and I love how she ties Biblical themes into cat stories. But I had to stop reading after the second cat died. Please keep your cats indoors 😞.

A religious cat lover gave this book to me before I went back to college last fall. While I am not a religious person, I still really enjoyed this book. I thought it was cute, and I loved the cat related quotes. I can imagine this would be even better for someone who is religious, but it's good to know a book like this is good either way.
I enjoyed this book. I liked the author's combination of stories and quotes related to cats. I am not religious, but I could still appreciate the main point of the book: we could learn a lot from our cat if we were only watching close enough.
