Vrij is currently one of the top 3 most important and influent leaders in regard to knowledge and research on the field of lie detection. This book sees the overall picture of the state of the art (2008) going through each theory, method and communication channel. The book is not mented for all people. It gets complicated, uses complex reasoning and sometimes the statistics used require hard thinking. Clearly not the book for the beach, but a great one for studying this intricated field. Vrij does an excellent job.

I really liked authors approach on not holding things behind an really looking at current lie detection environment objectively and with critique. Very informative and seems to be in line with the latest research. What I found extremely boring was a ton of research and a lot of repetition describing that research. This book can use some better editing.

Non the less, great information.
