Andrew Hixson was born in Barnet in 1958 and spent his formative years in North Finchley, where he attended school. After his education, Andrew embarked on a career working at the renowned Smithfield Meat Market in London. It was later in life, upon relocating to Suffolk, that he met his wife and settled into family life. Andrew is the proud father of two daughters and grandfather to three granddaughters, as well as two much-loved grand-dogs. Though Suffolk is now his home, he remains an ardent supporter of Arsenal Football Club. A keen reader, Andrew draws inspiration from the works of Tim Weaver, Harlon Coben, and Agatha Christie, whose books are among his favourites.
Ok John Handful is perhaps the most bland character i have come across. The cases are solved with nothing more than a quick look around the garden - in most cases, no suspense, no build up just the "Columbo" moment. I know more about his sex life and drinking habits than about the story lines. However what gets me really riled up is the transferral of the book to Kindle, complete with misspelt words, missing lines, wrongly used words - does nobody check that when someone means a peasant blouse it is not transferred asa pleasant blouse, red faced is not read faced. I am absolutely appalled at the number of mistakes in this short volume
Won this in a giveaway. A varied collection of short stories - there is a lot of cliche here, but then in crime fiction there is almost always some. I enjoyed these, some more than others, but it's a nice little collection for crime fans, almost as much as a pint of Calvors 3.8 to a beer fan. Ditching the slightly random photos at the start of each story would have given this a less 'self publish' look - so I suggest just pretend they aren't there!
