AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
I rounded up my rating for this book. It wasn’t terrible, but it was a little flat. At a little under 200 pages I felt like these characters could be a little more fleshed. Part of the problem is I feel like the author puts a lot of weight on the one night stand/meeting scene that readers don’t get. I would have loved that scene as the other scenes would have read better with that chemistry already being pre-established. I also would have really liked a scene were the MMC looks for her after he wakes up alone. Instead we get a few one line mentions for both scenes. Honestly I kind found it hard to believe the FMC was so into him so fast without that bar/one night stand scene. I could write the MMC of as mate bound insta-love, but the FMC not so much.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💜🩷💙💚 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: ☹️😍😋🤩 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Chastity - when she finds out her ex is marrying someone else, she decides to move away, so she gets a job in another town and hits the road. Along the way, she stops at a hotel for the night and has a glass of wine in the hotel bar. She meets a gorgeous orc construction worker who happens to sit next to her and invited him to lick her edible underwear that she got for a gift from her best friend. A few of the other patrons stepped up for the offer, but she ended up hooking up with the orc and she had the best night of her life.
The Hero:Max - he is an orc and is the owner of his own construction company. He woke up from the best night of his life in a cold bed and had wanted to find out who the woman was, but the desk clerk was no help. He tried everything he could to find her, but couldn’t. He thought the universe would get them together again if they were meant to be.
The Story: Ever since mythical creatures became mainstream, Chastity had wondered what it would be like to be with one, and she was happy with her night with the orc. Though she was prim and proper in her real life so when she woke up the morning after her night with the orc, she snuck out of the hotel room while he slept without ever finding out his name. Two weeks later she arrives at her new job as the owner's assistant at a construction company only to find out the sexy orc she slept with is her new boss.
I love the one-night stand is my new boss trope. It is a tried-and-true standard for a reason. It is always fun when the two meet up again. Especially when the Hero wanted more from the woman who snuck out on him. This was a short audiobook, at just over 4 hours. It was on audible plus or I wouldn’t have listened to it, since I refuse to pay money for anything less than 6 hours. Hopefully she will make some box-set type compilation with the rest of the books in this series, because I love monster romance and there are 10 audiobooks in this series that look good but range from 3 hours to nearly 5.
This audiobook was told in dual points of view via duet narration and was narrated by Mason Lloyd and Felicity Munroe. I am very familiar with these two from the Ice Planet series and I really like them both. Mason has a perfect voice for alien and paranormal romance and Felicity is so expressive that you can’t help but like her. They do a great job on this book.
This book was...a weird ride... The story was interesting but its structure was not working and the narrative and text are in need of a good edit...Also the characters were not well constrcted and seem to act out of character on multiple occasions. Could have been better.
Chastity finds out her ex-boyfriend is about to marry someone else and decides to get away and move to Monsterville. She is on her way there when she stops for the night at a hotel, and a glass of wine and some edible panties later, she wakes up after a long night of incredible fun with a very hot construction worker orc. Afraid to get rejected again, she sneaks away. 2 weeks later, she starts her new job and finds out her boss, Max... is the hot construction worker she had a lot of "fun" with. To top it off, he announces that the tattoos on his wrists are not tattoos, but mating marks, so she's his mate/wife! What will Chastity do? Will she follow her heart, or her fears?
I loved this book! I read it in one sitting. Max is a textbook cinnamon-roll, and I fell for him straight away! I liked how their relationship evolved and how the characters are written. I had already read Orc Me Baby One More Time, so it was fun to see Rylee and Gunner again (but it's not necessary to read it to enjoy Candy For My Orc Boss)! I recommend this book to anyone who wants a sweet but spicy monster romance!
It is an orc romance novella, not much else to say. It moves at lightning speed. Lower rating because I was so frustrated with the characters all just being so chill with the father-in-law's comments to the FMC. If my husband-to-be just sat there when someone, anyone, was saying those things to me I'd have concerns.

💚 “𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩.”
I loved everything that happened between Chastity and Max! After a passionate one-night stand on the way to her new job, the last thing Chastity expects is for the smoking-hot orc to turn out to be her new boss. And according to the orc traditions, they’re married, too. I adored those two - they were so sweet together and their chemistry was fantastic! I loved that, from the moment they met, Max had eyes only for her and never hesitated to stand up for her. And, despite Chastity’s determination to keep her heart locked up, Max, being such an amazing male, easily found his way in. He was so thoughtful and patient, proving that life could be different with the right person and Max was more than right for Chastity. They were perfect for each other and the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot. Well, monsters do it better!
Hoo-boy. A work place romance that starts out with a bang. In the euphemistic sense. Which leads to a leeeeeetle bit of awkwardness when Chastity walks into her boss's office on the first day on the job. Because who expects the one night stand they snuck away from in the morning to be their new boss, amirite? (Well, except in romance books, but what can you do?!?!)
So. Max and Chastity. They have a little of that morning after awkwardness (which doesn't take place the morning after thanks to the aforementioned sneaking away) mixed with mating marks and some seriously smoldering looks. All I can say is that orc who can smolder really know how to rock a lady's world.
Oh, there's also a little tension that needs to be dealt with courtesy of Max's dad's unhappiness with Max finding his other half in someone of the non-orcish variety. Some quick thinking and a slightly heroic feat fixes his attitude eventually, but it takes a while to get there.
Sex-ay shenanigans, a gentlemanly orc, a human lady trying to make the best of an awkward situation, and a new job. Good stuff!
Tbh I was pretty indifferent about the whole story, until she met the parents and then I just got angry. boiii, if that is how you let your father speak to your mate, you do not fucking deserve her. I never understood how people could tolerate this kind of behaviour just because “they are family”. Get fucked. That followed by an absolutely unnecessary SA scene, just so the MC could play hero and I was kinda done with everything.
Rest was less than mediocre writing, weak character and world building and the pacing felt really off. Not even enough for a light palate cleanser for in between.

This is a cosy and spicy orc romance. He's huge, fierce, and very green 💚 but a total marshmallow. She's a cute orphan that moves to a small town for a fresh start. The story is short, so everything happens very quickly, but i found I was OK with that.
This book didn't work for me. The first few pages of the book we are told she had a one night stand. She wakes up and looks in the mirror and thinks a few sentences about what they did together last night. The writing was really weird. "I remember when he put that hickey there." Why didn't the author just show the scene in the present time? Being told about what happened last night was annoying, we didn't see it.
Later on, she finds out her new boss is that orc guy from the hotel. He tells her his mom knows he is mated and could she please pretend while his mom is here since his mom has been sick. And he hopes she stays but if not he'll give her an orc divorce in a year.
She agrees.
At this point, I'm really struggling to finish the book. I didn't feel any romance between them.
I kept reading and she moves into his guest room (until his mom arrives). I gave it a few more pages and gave up. This book just wasn't for me.
This was a cute couple and they had good chemistry. I liked her backstory but wished her dating life had be expounded on. The MMC was ok, but not as forthcoming as I would prefer. But the climax? I can suspend disbelief but that was a lot for even me.
Yall I don't have an explanation for this except that its was a buddy read LOLOLOL. If youre not buddy reading outrageous/left field books with a friend youre missing out fr.
Some star comments I made throughout out buddyread:
"I know an orc and ogre are not the same thing but i just keep imagining shrek and I hate it" "Tattooed green wonderfulness is not a quote i ever needed to read" "I would've watched the dad drown sorry not sorry"
However this was actually a cute lil story! ....and thats about it. LOOOOOOOL This....I genuinely don't even know what to say. The name has like nothing to do with the story, candy is mentioned like twice at most, and....this....was....just.....not...it but like im not mad at it, I think im just confused on my entire existence after this book but not in the 'i just read something deep' way but in the "I can't believe I actually sat and read this' way.
the biggest reason I rated it 2 stars is not even the writing style or the cover or the fact that this book exists its just because of...the straight face i held the entire time i read this and the way i put my kindle down after reading it– from disappointment? from confusion? from....disbelief? Not sure.
This might have entered me into my new reading slumppppppp LMAOOOOO but hey I told yall I'd read anything and everything lololoololololl
Beyond the fact that whipped cream does not belong down below…
Story is rushed. I don’t care about either of the characters or believe that they actually care about each other. The fact that it’s written in past tense feels weird. Just overall not impressed.
💚 “I want to make every day your best.” ~~~ I loved Chastity so much! Growing up in foster care, she’s been dealing with everything all alone. So, after being dumped by her ex, all she wants now is a fresh start. So, she quits her job and takes one as an assistant in a small town far away. Despite everything she’s had to deal with, Chastity is so nice, thoughtful and kind. She might be shy but there’s so much fire in her. And I loved her enthusiasm for experiencing new things and enjoying every second of her life from now on. She’s one wonderful woman!
Maxon is the owner of Zahgorim Construction Company and one spectacular male! This huge and tattooed orc is absolutely gorgeous, charming and incredibly sweet. And he’s so caring and protective of the people he cares about. I couldn’t help but absolutely adore everything about him!
They were absolutely perfect for each other and the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot. Well, monsters definitely do it better!
In addition, I adored Max’s mother - she’s such a wonderful, loving and welcoming female. But his father… Well, I wanted to smack him so much, but I’m so happy he came to his senses in the end.
Overall, Candy for my Orc Boss is a sweet and fun story filled with romance, humor, drama, a bit of suspense and danger, blazing hot passion and wonderful characters!
This was sweet, and I read it in one sitting. One night stand in a new town turns out to be her new orc boss. Turns out she’s his fated mate as well. This was cute and sappy, but it did fall a bit flat. Could use a bit more emotional development and steamy scenes. I wish the one night stand had been shown in detail. Sounded very hot. There were very few steamy scenes on page, and I feel like they could have been sooo much steamier for all the teasing we got. Overall, cute and satisfying read, though. Likable main characters. Healthy relationship. Just needed a bit more.
The story of Chastity and Max begins quite unusually since it involves some edible undergarments but their love story blossoms into cute and a heartwarming tale of two people finding love. It’s instalove and fated mates but the story just works so well and it feels like a sweet treat. I loved it.
A cute insta-love/one night stand paranormal romance that takes place around Valentine's Day between an Orc boss and his new employee who doesn't realize they are fated mates. Throw in some 'fake dating' and a lot of steamy romance and this was a fun, light-hearted read outside my usual go-to genres. Good on audio and recommended for fans of authors like Ashley Bennett.
Candy for my Boss is a sweet read from Ava Ross, Chastity and Maxon meet over drinks and edible cherry panties and the fun begins. Leaving the orc construction worker, the next morning without a word, things heat up. Maxon is her new boss, with his family thrown in and mating bands, a fake or not fake marriage. This is an engaging steamy read, sit back and enjoy with some chocolate.
It has so much cheeky goodness, paired with gut wrenching vulnerability, and just the right build of desire and love. Honestly so much fun to read!
I loved both main characters and thought their relationship progression was wonderful as well as found their conflict didn’t push me away or cause a sense of dread or foreboding. It was fun to watch it all play out.
The spice is great! Really just so good and had a great build to it as well. A fun red!
