I love a story that ends with a kiss, whether it's a book or a movie. That's the big payoff! So that's the kind of books I like to write, and I call my style "cotton candy for the soul"-- light, sweet, gone. We all need a little escape from reality for a while, and escapist fiction can be the perfect remedy.

I'm a moderately bad housekeeper, I have a black thumb, and it takes a small miracle to get my hair to curl. My handsome husband and I live in the Arizona desert where we're raising our five children, who never let us stop laughing.

Well, I am starting chapter 3 and I do not like the characters (Bianca and Julia) and I dislike the tone of the book. I have read other Griffith books and liked them well enough so I am going to keep trying. OK, I am midway through chapter 11. I like Julia better but (a) I have realized I haven't read other books by this author--must have confused her with someone else and (b) I really do not like the book much more than after chapter 2.

Okay, I finished the book. It had a nice enough ending. I think this should really be classified as teen reading. Julia was nearly 18 and perhaps those readers younger than 18 or near that age could perhaps relate to Julia's feelings. I felt Julia was actually "smarter" than her character acted and would have behaved in a more mature fashion but this is a coming-of-age book so there has to be some growth or insight, I suppose. I would rate this 2.5 and I am rounding up.

I had a really hard time with this book. The story line with Jeb/Jed (what was his name?) was good, but I finally just started skimming the book for parts about him because the grammar comments got to me. It seemed like every other page the author was make comments about what was grammatically correct and not. This was okay the first couple of times, but after about 10 times I was ready to scream! It might have been a little humorous if the girl had been an English major even, but she wasn't, so there was no reason for the obsession with grammar. I've read another book by this author some time ago (Immersed) and it was about a guy wanting help with his English, so if she did the same thing in that book, I found it humorous, cause I gave that one a 5 star rating. I do have one other book by this author in my TBR, and I will give her another chance. We'll see how the story goes there.

Just my two cents.

When I read the back of this book, I felt I had to read it. It was written by someone from Logan and about someone beginning their first year at Utah State University. It was fun, lighthearted, and an easy read. I enjoyed it.

This is my favorite of Jennifer Stewart Griffiths' books--so far. (I hope she publishes many, many more!) The characters are funny. The plot has clever twists. And the moral of it all is EMBRACE LIFE. Take my advice: read A Little Sisterly Advice on your next day at the beach.

This one was just okay for me. It had a cute story line, but was slow. I loved the setting, I loved Utah State so it was fun to recognize all the buildings and locations. Julie the main character just didn't seem to have it all together. Cute story, but won't reread.

I have learned that sisters are very helpful in life even if you think they are trying to be rude!!!

Most of us don't see ourselves as others do--especially the good in us. The story is pretty much predictable.

I needed a good easy read. This was a fun book that had the romance, but not very complex issues. Very enjoyable. What I learned is that you shouldn't always judge people by age
