This is more than a Yoga book, more than an exercise book, more than a nutrition guide, more than a cookbook. It is all three. And it presents the total way of life by America's foremost yoga instructor.
Richard Hittleman was an American Yoga teacher and author who taught Hatha and Raja Yoga through one of the first Yoga television series, Yoga for Health.
This is a class guide to yoga which dates back some years. However, it is referred to regularly by my yoga class teacher and the advice on postures is still sound. It may appear a little dated by modern standards but it is still a good basic guide to yoga for health.
Although fairly old now, a good introduction to some basic yoga asanas and coverage of the yoga lifestyle. Very practical, simple, direct. Recommend to beginners.
Excellent instruction for those serious about pursuing yoga
An extraordinarily thoughtful manual on all aspects of the practice of yoga: nutrition; philosophy; and poses. A timeless book written in great detail.
Richard Hittleman is, in my opinion, the best Yoga teacher around and I love his exercises. I've been using his Yoga books since 1978 and will continue to do so for the rest of my life :)
when I actually followed this book consistently ( before I became too lazy ), I experienced amazing results: towards weight loss and overall health. I need to go back to the 3 day exercise plan.
