The subplot from Delilah's book is concluded here. There is a small cliff-hanger. Menolly is forced to work on her people and relationship skills. Chase is MIA from this book which was jim dandy with me. A new character with a quirky German name has me intrigued. Overall, not bad and still good enough for me to move on to the next installment.

Quick & Dirty: With a war in the Otherworld, their father missing, and Menolly’s bar burnt down Earthside, life is anything but boring for the D’Artigo sisters. And it’s only going to get worse from here…
Opening Sentence: The sky was clear for once, though rain was forecast before morning.
The Review:
This series has always been on my to read list, but I just haven’t been able to get around to reading it. So I obviously felt very uneasy with hopping right in with book 15. On top of that, I’ve had a very hard time getting into Galenorn’s Indigo Court series, so I wasn’t entirely sure how I was going to feel about this one. Luckily, most of the time, I didn’t feel super lost. I was a little overwhelmed by the number of characters when the book first started, but I eventually began to get everyone straightened out. In addition, I enjoyed this book much more than I’ve liked any of the Indigo Court novels, so I have a very positive feeling about how I’m going to feel about this series as it goes on.
The D’Artigo sisters are worn out and stressed to put it mildly. Between the war in Otherworld and problems that keep popping up Earthside, they have no time to take it easy. Menolly’s bar was set aflame, killing those caught inside. Before she has the chance to truly deal with that loss, she’s in a serious car accident, and the Fae at fault disappears, leaving Menolly to wonder if the crash was intentional. Then, another bar burns down. The sisters suspect they know who is behind everything. The problem is finding him. Will they be able to do so before it’s too late?
As I said before, despite this being book 15 in the series, it was fairly easy for a newcomer to follow. I mainly found myself confused about the war in Otherworld and would sometimes have to reread sections in order to follow what was going on. Thankfully, most of the plot of this particular book centered on Earthside, and it wasn’t entirely necessary for me to understand everything else. While I enjoyed the book, I think those who are caught up on the series will enjoy this installment the most.
I think my favorite aspect of this book focused on the relationship between Menolly and her wife. While it wasn’t a big part of the book by any means, it still stood out to me. A lot of times in paranormal romance/urban fantasy, the relationships don’t always portray real life issues,but here, we get to see Menolly and Nerissa struggling with problems in their relationship that could affect any real life couple. I really enjoyed getting that dose of reality amongst all the urban fantasy aspects of the book.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. All I could think about while I was reading was that I wanted to read the 14 books that came before this one so that I could really get to know all of these characters. I’m looking forward to doing so!

Camille let out a soft murmur. “It’s…there’s something in here with us. I can feel it and I’m not even trying.”
“She’s right,” Bran said, startling me. His voice was smooth, yet guttural, and it echoed through the shell of a room.
“What do you sense?” I hoped we could be forearmed. I was tired of being taken by surprise. But if they could say a word, a movement caught my eye and I turned. Out from the walls, and I do mean out from the walls–stepping directly through the solid drywall as if it were mere illusion–came five figures. They were bipedal, female by the look of their breasts, and they were composed of living flame. Burning brightly, with tongues of flames crackling off them, they looked like some CGI animated creatures, orange and yellow and all shades comprising fire.
As we stood there, staring at them, they moved toward us. Then one raised her hand, and a ball of fire lit up the air as she sent the orb heading in our direction.
“Holy fuck!” Camille yelled as she dove to the right. Delilah dropped to the floor. I wasn’t sure what Bran and Shade were up to because, before I realized what I was doing, I raced forward toward the woman, and the next thing I knew, I had knocked her to the ground, trying to get hold of her. Her skin burned my fingers, and I realized she truly was living flame. And that was when it dawned on me that I was in serious trouble. I tried to scramble away, but she caught hold of my wrist, and as my skin began to ignite, I realized I was about to die the final death.

The previous book had so much going for it. Somehow I missed how these sisters know this random missing person case that popped up and Menolly's bar burning down are connected. Because I gotta say..there was nothing tying those two things together. I guess it is just easier to create a small case that somehow is connected to a bigger case than dealing with the big stuff as if they are actually big stuff.
I really can't remember if everything was even solved or not by the end of Crimson Veil. There are so many plot threads in these books that weave in and out, that trying to remember them all is a losing game. Which is why the the author doesn't even try. I know there are a lot of things just left forgotten about already. I know Menolly accomplished one thing in this book. The rest? Not a clue.

This book was good, and it closed out a couple of things that were introduced in the last book, but it was not nearly as amazing for me to read as was Menolly's last book. I did laugh, but I never once felt even close to tears. Not even when :-(
In this one, the war in Otherworld is ongoing, but the sisters are still home in Seattle, where the daemon menace has picked up. Interestingly, my feeling that the last book was filler? Well, I am having the devil of a time remembering what happened in this book versus what happened in the last book. :-/
But I just looked back over the beginning, and. . . In the description, Menolly mentions that the Wayfarer was burned down and eight people were killed. Turns out, that happened in the last book, as this book opens :-(
In this book, we learn
Speaking of fire, we meet in this book. In the "Category of New-to-Series Creatures and Beings," we also saw :-)
Also, in keeping with past updates of the former sort, no spirit seals were found in this book, though they were mentioned: :-)
It turns out that Bran is As far as I can tell, he was just suddenly going :-(
In this book, two of the things that were begun in the last book were finished: Namely, :-)
Also, Chase :-)
And once again a Menolly book shared more information about Shade: :-)
There was one line in here that surprised a laugh out of me. The sisters (and some of the menfolk) , and Menolly thinks, "This was starting to sound like a bad B-grade horror flick. Satan's Schlong for Girls or some such movie." lol ;-) (This quote is on page 258, in Chapter 17.)
After the final battle, our crew
Then they go home, where Nerissa is waiting up for Menolly. And while this book does not end with Here is the final paragraph:
In closing, I will say that I still love this series, but these last two books. . .their endings. . .I need a break. So since I've finished this "Camille-Delilah-Menolly trilogy," I'm going to pause before reading the next three books - the last three that are currently out in this series - and read the first two or three books in the Dresden Files, instead.
Also, does this review seem rather scattered, especially if you read the spoilers? I'm sorry for that, but it's like I said. This book and the last one have kind of combined into one in my head and I'm having trouble remembering what all went on in this book besides the two resolutions. But I think four stars - very good story; I really enjoyed it - is the right rating from me.

The plot line feels stuck... I can't remember the last time them made any progress with the spirit seals. While I always enjoy the Otherworld stories, it is not a TV series... Let's end this thread and move on to other adventures for these characters.

The war continues to rage in Otherworld with the D’Artigo sisters hearing more and more stressful news as the world hangs in the balance
But the D’Artigo sisters cannot focus on the tragedy and devastation in Otherworld. A Daemon cult is trafficking slaves and attempting to invoke a demigod of vice and corruption capable of unleashing utter devastation across the city. With vampire businesses targeted as well, the D’Artigo sisters have to act – they have no time to mourn; not for their father, not for the dead of Elqaneve and not for those who died in Menolly’s bar.
This book is pretty much a continuation of Autumn Whispers, the last book. So much so that they almost feel like one book especially since Autumn Whispers ended without any real ending
A lot of what I said in the last book pretty much applies to this as well – it feels like a distraction and a frustrating one at that. We have Shadowwing and his demon army trying to invade Earth. His allies are launching a huge invasion cross Otherworld. An alliance is forming to try and push them back and one of the major nations of the Otherworld has fallen. Many of the spirit seals have been lost and now need to be quickly reclaimed for fear of Shadowwing getting his hands on them, ripping over the portals and invading Earth.
And the sisters are focused on… something else entirely. There’s a possible daemon plot (daemons are different from demons), the raising of a demi-god and a kidnapping/trafficking/slavery ring as well as threats against vampire businesses and… this is all unrelated to Shadowwing and I have to ask why it is here and why are the sisters involved?
I’m not saying these events are important but they’re literally in the middle of world destroying invasion against both the Otherworld and Earth. So why is this on the sister’s to handle who already have way too much on their plate? We have Carter, the half-demon, half-titan why doesn’t he step up? Vampire businesses are being targeted, why can’t Roman take this over, since he’s the major vampire authority? Fae and other supernaturals are being kidnapped so can’t the Earthside far queens step forwards? The shapehifters?
Why aren’t the sisters trying to form their alliances against the invasion – or hunting down the spirit seals or calling on the dragonflights to honour their commitment and fly to battle. The sisters have enough on their plate without being the first responders to every single issue everywhere
This is an added problem of this book and the last book and not ending. Because we not just have this somewhat distracting side plot – but we also have it still not concluded at the end of this book. That demigod is going to be still around, some elements have been resolved but this whole side plot is turning into a metaplot all of its own.
On top of this I feel a little repetitive because a lot of my old criticisms about unnecessary recapping and description, sadly, still apply.

I had a love/hate relationship with this book. The parts about Menolly and her lovers, I loved those parts. Actually brought tears to my eyes in parts. I love hearing about everyone, their loves, family and friends but the story line itself seems to be dragging on a bit. I know they can't all be happy ending kind of stories but I miss the girls kicking ass and coming out on top for a change. I can't wait to hear of other endeavors that the girls face. Such as having babies and coming along with their own abilities. Maybe like a flash forward would be nice. I still love Yasmine Galenorns books and the worlds she creates!

Crimson Veil knüpft an die Ereignisse des Vorgängers an. Doch bevor die drei Schwestern und ihre Verbündeten den Fall um die Vermissten wieder aufnehmen, passieren in kürzester Zeit sehr merkwürde Dinge, die anscheinend in Verbindung stehen. Erst wird Menolly in einen Unfall verwickelt, bei dem die zweite Person urplötzlich verschwindet. Kurze Zeit später trifft sie sich mit Roman in einem Vampirclub. Die Eigentümerin offenbart ihnen, dass sie - wie Menolly im letzten Band - seit einigen Tagen Drohanrufe erhält. In der Nacht steht der Club in Flammen und die D'Artigo Schwestern finden heraus, dass es sich nicht um eine simple Brandstiftung, sondern um Flammenfeen handelt, die es nun zu besiegen gilt.
Es treten außerdem zwei neue Charaktere auf die Bildfläche. Zum einen ist das der menschliche Cousin der Schwestern, Daniel. Der hat es allerdings faustdick hinter den Ohren. Obwohl die neuen Charaktere definitiv interessante neue Möglichkeiten bieten und ich die Charaktere, die Yasmine Galenorn erschaffen hat, allgemein faszinierend finde, überwiegt dennoch das Negative. Erst als die Befreiungsaktion begann und die Spannung einsetzte, entstand bei mir das Verlangen, weiterzulesen. Die erste Hälfte zog sich leider für meinen Geschmack zu sehr in die Länge und wirkte etwas unstrukturiert.

Crimson Veil knüpft an die Ereignisse des Vorgängers an. Doch bevor die drei Schwestern und ihre Verbündeten den Fall um die Vermissten wieder aufnehmen, passieren in kürzester Zeit sehr merkwürde Dinge, die anscheinend in Verbindung stehen. Erst wird Menolly in einen Unfall verwickelt, bei dem die zweite Person urplötzlich verschwindet. Kurze Zeit später trifft sie sich mit Roman in einem Vampirclub. Die Eigentümerin offenbart ihnen, dass sie - wie Menolly im letzten Band - seit einigen Tagen Drohanrufe erhält. In der Nacht steht der Club in Flammen und die D'Artigo Schwestern finden heraus, dass es sich nicht um eine simple Brandstiftung, sondern um Flammenfeen handelt, die es nun zu besiegen gilt.
Es treten außerdem zwei neue Charaktere auf die Bildfläche. Zum einen ist das der menschliche Cousin der Schwestern, Daniel. Der hat es allerdings faustdick hinter den Ohren. So alot was going on, and yet it felt like nothing really happened in this book. Weirdest feeling.
It was mostly more of the fallout from the previous book. More attacks in the other realm, finally found their father's body, laid him to rest, found one of the missing seal holders bodies, another vampire bar burned, so we dealt with more of Menolly's guilt over those who died in her bar, and how lost she felt not having the bar to go too.
More triangle between Nerissa her and the Male Vamp, who is dropping "LOVE" so casually it hurts, which freaks Menolly out.
Some new creatures, and Iris saved the day, I do love how bad ass she is, having just had babies, and helping Chase with his baby, and yet still swoops in and saves the day.
Some interesting Dragon by-play on Shades family, his father's job and his sister. Smoky's mom paying a visit really had them squirming.
But like I said, mostly it was continuation of things set up in the last book, which felt soooo odd.

Not too enthused about this book. The main issues were:
- Continued investigation in to Lowestar and the threat of him trying to wake Suvika
- Discussions about what would they do IF Suvika is to be awakened
- Menolly's lack of vulnerability with Nerissa and how it effects their relationship
- Someone trying to kill Menolly
- Closure regarding their father
Many issues going on but it seemed disjointed and not cohesive. Really not very interesting, I read this quickly because it's a short book like most of her books are. As usual there definitely was plenty of fighting. This was a mediocre effort. I can't imagine Yasmine finished this book thinking this was really good work, if so, she's become jaded.

This book felt much more compact and joined together than the last one. Not as many problems arising at once. I think I like Menolly’s storyline best because she’s only awake at night, so everything has to get packed into a few hours every time she wakes up instead of dragging on for days at a time.

Crimson Veil is the fifteenth book in the Sisters of the Moon series by Yasmine Galenorn. The series follows the adventures and exploits of the D'Artigo sisters as they battle evil forces and try to bring about the end of the war in the Otherworld. Fans of the series have embraced Galenorn's changing viewpoints and multiple secondary characters throughout the series. Galenorn once again uses her knowledge of the world of magic to bring readers a somewhat dark, but expressive tale that is as intense as the author herself.
What I liked:
To say that the world building in this series is staggering is probably an understatement. Galenorn has done a spectacular job of creating characters that readers are attuned to and want to read about again and again. But she also makes the Otherworld and it's struggles so real to the reader that it becomes hard to distinguish between the Otherworld and Earthside. It takes a lot of imagination to bring to life a world that the reader has no concept of from beginning to end and Galenorn does it with ease. She mixes vampires and weres with deamons and demons. The Fae make appearances and other supernatural creatures as well. The three sisters each have their own distinctions as well. From Camile the witch to Delilah the Death Maiden and then to Menolly the vampire. This author has done so much to bring the reader into another universe that it's quite amazing.
This was my first book from the series and I was skeptical going in, not being familiar with the author or her work. But Galenorn does attempt to bring the reader up to speed if they are just beginning the series. I don't think she was entirely successful, just because of the overall scope of the series itself. But I was able to pick up a lot about each of sisters and how the series has developed. I liked the relationship that exists between Galenorn's Otherworld and her own proclivities toward magic. It was easy to see that this was important to the author in a way that is missing from some books of this type.
The sisters are the stars of the books obviously and this particular story was told from Menolly's point of view. I had a bit of a hard time connecting to Menolly at first because I didn't see how she connected to the story. But eventually I found myself warming up to her and her own struggles. It seemed that a lot of this story dealt with Menolly's personal issues with the destruction of her bar, the Wayfarer and others like hers that were being targeted. She is a vampire with a wife and has a lot of personal baggage to deal with in this one. I liked the parts that dealt with her relationship with her sisters and their goal of keeping the villain at bay, but felt a little out of the loop when it came to Nerissa and Roman, her wife and consort. Not a concept I was entirely sure I followed.
I do respect the fact that Galenorn was able to write the relationship between Menolly and her wife Nerissa with the same level of intensity and realism as the relationships she writes with characters that are not in same-sex relationships. I think it takes a very open mind and one with a lot of understanding to write with such openness and candor. A lot of writers write about gay or lesbian characters, but not many do it with the grace that Galenorn showed here. Nicely done.
I finally started to understand about the spirit seals and the villain Shadow Wing and what he was really up to towards the middle of the book. I think the resolution of that aspect of the story happened a bit too quickly for my tastes. About three quarters of the way through the book, the threat had been eliminated and there was still a quarter of the book to go. It was instrumental in showing me as a reader more about the characters and their relationships, but it kind of let the air leak out, since it wasn't as climatic as the rest of the book.
I found myself wanting to learn more about the other sisters, just from reading their part in this story and that's always a good thing. I did have quite a bit of trouble following this book, but I don't think that was the fault of the author. It was just basically because I needed to have started at the beginning of the series. I will probably go back and read it from the beginning and this one will make a lot more sense to me.
What I didn't like:
I was somewhat worried about jumping into this series in the fifteenth book. I had not had the opportunity to read anything from this author before and was pretty sure I might be lost. I have to admit I do think it is best to read this series from the beginning. Though Galenorn does a good job of cluing new readers into what is going on, I think the reader probably misses a lot of the nuances and circumstantial cues that might make more sense had they read them all.
Bottom Line:
Even though I struggled to review this book, I thought Galenorn's writing style was engaging. Her world building was phenomenal and her characters were interesting. I did think that the overall threat in this book wrapped up too early and the rest was more about the personal struggles of the main character, Menolly. But it was certainly interesting enough that I want to go back and see what I missed.

I live this whole series so far from book one to this one! Some of the books were read within a week because of how great I think they are! I’ve recommended the series to several of my girls and they too, those who did chance to read , ALSO enjoyed!

Actually finished this one on our cruise two weeks ago. Menolly isn’t my favorite, but I’m enjoying this extended plot arc and seeing the conflict from different angles. Been having a hard time finding the next book in the series. 6 more to go.

I enjoy reading this series, but I know the characters, I know their stories, it would nice not to be introduced to them in every book.

I'm getting a little tired of this plot. The race to collect the seals and the otherworld skirmishes are now tiresome and tedious. I hope this plot stream ends soon.

Book 15 already, and this series is still going strong. There is little rest for the three sisters and their spouses and friends. The war in Otherworld is not going well, their father’s body has been found in Elqaneve, and brought back to them Earthside.
Shadow Wing, from the Demon Realm, now has three of the Spirit Seals, they have four and two are still missing. If he gets his claws on more, he will tear the realms apart and destroy everything.
Menolly is still dealing with the destruction of her bar, the Wayfarer and all the people who died in there. Her vampire consort, Roman, is helping her find out how many vampires potentially died in there as well, as there would be nothing left of them. And now another vampire night club is getting the same threats Menolly received, and when it is torched, Menolly, Camille and Delilah will do their best to find out who is behind it and how to stop them. Of course they already suspect Lowestar Radcliff for wanting to take over all the supernatural business in Seattle, but they need more information before they can act upon it.
When they encounter some burning kind of Fae, only Iris and her ice magic can stop them. Someone has been summoning them to destroy the club and if they get loose in the city, they could possibly set the whole town ablaze!
And then there is their newfound human cousin Daniel, who invites himself to dinner and who knows way too much about all of them and their mission. He offers his services if they need it. He used to belong to some kind of secret spy organisation, and is now using his special skills, well, not for good. They are not sure they can trust him, (neither am I), but he might come in handy when they are breaking and entering …
The sisters also still have to deal with the missing Fae, who have been abducted after using a dating site, and Tanne Baum, boyfriend of Violet, has finally been able to hold a ritual telling him where she is. They are not happy to have to go into Underground Seattle again, but they will put a stop to this slavery ring and free Violet and the others. Fighting Hellhounds and guards with whips is not easy, but they manage, and Menolly finds out that biting a Hellhound to suck his blood is not a good idea.
There is a lot of action in this book, but there is also time for them to have their Samhain ritual and say goodbye to their father and the other friends they recently have lost.
This book has Menolly as its focus, and she has to work through some personal relationship troubles. Roman has fallen in love with her, even though she has warned him not to. She loves her wife, Nerissa, but she will have to open herself up more if she wants this relationship to work beyond the sexual bond.
Delilah meets her lover’s sister, who has come to scout her out on behalf of the family. As Shade has asked her to dress up, which she never does, she is extremely nervous. What if his sister doesn’t like her? Will his family come between them? The Autumn Lord himself has brought them together …
Cousin Shamas is still pining after Camille, but she will never love him back. He betrayed her as children, and especially when he became a sorcerer and fought against her Moongoddess and her Order. Camille is happy with her three husbands, she won’t need him. And so Shamas decides to go back to Otherwold and help fight in the war.
The Dragons have decided to help them out, and hide the Knights who are wearing the spirit seals. No one will be able to get them from the Dragon Reaches.
I enjoy this series very much, although it is darker than I usually read, and it has a lot of sex. I do skip the lesbian scenes, but Yasmine Galenorn has a way with words that makes me read and enjoy the rest. Sometimes it really seams as if the sisters never get a break, only bad things are happening around them, but sometimes they do get lucky and they make time to enjoy some of the more important things in their lives. I like that. They are not invincible, their lifepartners are standing behind them, don’t try to stop them or protect them, they all fight together.
It is a good series, but I do recommend you read it in order to see how it all builds up. Every book has another sister as its focal point, its voice, and I like that. Although Camille is my favourite, I enjoy learning more about her moon magic.

One of the best things about this series is the rotation between the sisters as narrators. It's funny, but somehow each sister becomes my favorite whenever it's their turn to shine. When I first started reading this series I have to admit that Camille was by far my favorite, but by the second rotation of narrators (book six), both Delilah and Menolly had stole my heart as well. This time around things are really hard for Menolly. She's been dealing with the guilt from the bar fire plus all of the loss over in the Elven realm including their father. In true Menolly style, she bottles it up and it just eats at her. Problem is that now she has a wife, one who feels like Menolly is pushing her away because of how she's shut herself down to cope. But, that being said, she's trying to open up and share her emotions with others. There were several times throughout the book where someone would call her out on her actions and while her first instinct was to snarl back at them, she actually took a step back and really thought about what was being said. It showed a lot of growth and I loved seeing it. There's nothing better than getting to see a character grow over several books, and this series is incredibly great for that.
As much as I've enjoyed this series, I can't help feeling like it's stuck in a little bit of a rut. Don't get me wrong, each book is more than full of steam, action, and danger to keep me more than entertained. It's just that there doesn't feel to be a whole lot of forward momentum in the overall plot. Well, I guess that's not true as things are definitely heating up on the war front, even more so than in recent installments. I guess my issue is that there's so much going on that each book is starting to just bleed into the next one with little or even no resolution on a lot of what's going on. It's almost becoming too much at this point as more and more get stacked onto the sister's plates with no resolutions in sight. So rut probably wasn't the best word, as overwhelming seems to better explain my feelings. I'm just getting to the point where I feel like it's all being stretched too far, and the dangers are being lessened due to the sheer overwhelming amount of them. I'm really hoping some resolution comes in the next installment to hopefully narrow the range of threats down just a bit.
Despite my wishing for a bit of threat narrowing, Crimson Veil was a very enjoyable installment in the Otherworld series. Fans of the series will be more than pleased, and I can't wait to dive into Camille's installment next.
One of the best things about this series is the rotation between the sisters as narrators. It's funny, but somehow each sister becomes my favorite whenever it's their turn to shine. When I first started reading this series I have to admit that Camille was by far my favorite, but by the second rotation of narrators (book six), both Delilah and Menolly had stole my heart as well. This time around things are really hard for Menolly. She's been dealing with the guilt from the bar fire plus all of the loss over in the Elven realm including their father. In true Menolly style, she bottles it up and it just eats at her. Problem is that now she has a wife, one who feels like Menolly is pushing her away because of how she's shut herself down to cope. But, that being said, she's trying to open up and share her emotions with others. There were several times throughout the book where someone would call her out on her actions and while her first instinct was to snarl back at them, she actually took a step back and really thought about what was being said. It showed a lot of growth and I loved seeing it. There's nothing better than getting to see a character grow over several books, and this series is incredibly great for that.

Crimson Veil begins right on the heels of Autumn Whispers. The war is still being waged in Otherworld, decimating everything in its path. The girls are tired and just can’t catch a break. On top of the Wayfarer being burned down, another vampire club is torched. However, this time, the D’Artigo sisters get there in time to figure out what’s going on…….sort of. Seems there is an arsonist hell bent on taking out as many vampires as they can.
There’s still the problem of stopping Lowestar Radcliff from awakening Suvika, and, they still haven’t found their friends’ missing friend from Autumn Whispers. Things happen rather fast in this installment of the series. The girls had met some of their cousins, whom they didn’t know existed, in the previous book, and one of them ends up being more than he initially seemed, but can they trust him with all that’s going on Earthside and in Otherworld? They decide to take baby steps with him and see how it goes.
They soon realize that the things happening Earthside are tied together and race against time to find the missing and stop Radcliff. There’s also the question of what to do with the Earth Seals that they have in their possession, because if they fall into the wrong hands, all is lost.
Galenorn has changed up her writing in this series a little bit. As I said in my previous review of Autumn Whispers, she normally ties up the current storyline as we progress in the overall arc of the series. She didn’t do that in Autumn Whispers, and she didn’t do it in this one either. But, it works for me. Once we reach the climactic “battle” scene, the way that one of the bad guys is taken out literally made me laugh out loud!! But, in a good way. There are some devastating developments as they find out what has happened to some who are missing, and some developments that leave you cheering. As always, we get to see all of the D’Artigo sisters’ motley crew and the efficiency with which they work together. They all have the “take no prisoners” attitude and do what is needed in any given situation to ensure that those they love are protected. If you’re a fan of series full of all kinds of beings and creatures, you will not be disappointed with this one. I can’t wait for the next installment!

I admit that the end of the last volume left me curious. Yes because a lot of things had been initiated and I wanted to know how everything would be unfolded and resolved.
We thus find this time Menolly our beloved vampire who must cope with the many disasters that constantly succeed. Between the destruction of her bar, her father who disappeared without a trace, the war in the Otherworld, or the demons who want to awaken an ancient evil entity and Roman who seems to fall in love with her when she knows that she will never be able to love him. Yes Menolly has many things to think about here, and nothing seems to work out. But as always, she isn’t alone and her sisters are there too, sharing their problems and also adding some at the same time. But events will evolve fast enough, or even be resolved for some but I’ll let you find out which ones.
It was interesting to see Menolly and advices that everyone is trying to give her over her behavior towards her sisters. I have not read about her first meeting with Nerissa and Roman, but it’s quite touching to see how she behaves with her wife, becoming all of a sudden much more fragile. I confess, however, that Roman is a character who intrigues me the most, and I think I could be interested by the volume that corresponds to his meeting with Menolly. Because I still have a little trouble seeing how they came to be together. In addition, we feel that their relationship will complicate gradually, especially knowing that only one of them had much stronger feelings than the other. Another character left me enough shared and it is their new human cousin Daniel who seems too good to be true. It is also here that we discover more about him as well as what he wants from the sisters. But I feel that we’ll also have more in the next novel.
The book is easy to read even if it is true that this is not really a series I follow. I am curious to find Camille in the next novel to see how the adventures of three sisters will continue and to know the purpose of the war which gets closer of their world.
