Sometimes fate doesn’t just throw you a curve ball, it hits you in the face. Breaking your nose, blackening your eyes, and making you second guess everything you’ve spent your entire life working toward. Do you ignore that ball and continue in the direction of security and stability? Or do you throw caution to the wind, follow your heart, and potentially become so damaged that you’ll never recover?

Experiencing an intensity she’s never known, passion she’s never felt, and a way to escape the mundane has her changing her once solid foundation. But seasons change and so do people. When she discovers Zeppelin is hiding something from her, those walls she let fall so easily begin to build back up. Zeppelin finally reveals his devastating secret and Lucky is left with two choices. Walk away and forget him entirely or take his hand and follow him into the darkness and sorrow.

wow I should have just given this book ***** it was so good. can't say much as i don't want to give story away sufice to say that this was such a well written story that had me hoping for good things. didn't mind the jumping back and forth in story time and had me holding my breath for a good portion of the story. a must read.
Absolutely amazing!! This is the first book that has had me in my feelings and crying like a baby in a very long time.. I am in love with Lucky and Zeppelin and all that is the story of these two. Once I started with this story I couldn't stop until I finished. I would recommend this book and author if your looking for a true love story and a five star read!
Review for the new version.... I read this one for our blog back when MK Oien first published it & it was one that really stuck with me, which doesn’t always happen unless I read a book more than once. There was something about Zeppelin & Lucky that just stayed in my heart & I only read it once back then. I had been wanting to read it again, so I grabbed the newer version. It doesn’t happen often, because I tend to forget what most books are about (makes rereading fun), however I knew what was coming in this book. I knew what turmoil Zeppelin & Lucky we’re gonna go through. I’ve been taking my time reading it because it hurts my heart. The other night, I literally cried in bed while reading. You see, this time around, knowing what was coming, I was afraid to get to the part I knew was going to tear me up & it did just that. I went to sleep thinking about them like they were real. Imagining how it would be to go through what they were going through in real life. Counting my blessings that I haven’t experienced pain like they have. Reading this book a second time around will surely stick with me for another many years. I love Zeppelin so darn much that it feels like he’s real. That’s some awesome writing right there. I loved the chemistry Zeppelin & Lucky had together, like a force had put them together for a reason. Maybe it was for one of them to save the other or maybe to open their eyes to having fun verses going day to day without any fun time to themselves. Whatever the reason, it was wonderful when they were together. Like I said, this book tore me up at times, but the ending was simply beautiful & perfect. Would love to see a novella some time down the road letting us readers know how they are doing. <3 ———————————— I had the privilege of reading an ARC copy of this book.
I am seriously in awe of this book. It captivated me the moment I started reading. This book starts off in the present day but flip flips to different periods in the previous year. At first I thought that would bother me, but each chapter was labeled with what time it was taken place. I must say, reading the chapters in "present day" had me really wondering what was going to happen in the end. This story was about how you try to plan your future, but unexpected turns of events happen to change all those plans for the better. It's ok to be in the moment and live day to day.
Twenty-two year old Lucille Harris, known to her friends as Lucky, had her future all planned out. She graduated from college in her hometown and then decided to further her education and attend school in Portland where her best friend, Hannah, and her cousin, Dixon, lives. She was studying to be a Cytotechnologist, someone who studies cells and cell abnormalities. She also loved racing her car. Lucky had no time or plans for a love life, however things don't always go as they are planned. Along comes tall, sexy, tattooed Zeppelin Rhoades. He happens to be Dixon's best friend. Occasionally, he's an underground fighter & street racer. Zeppelin is someone who takes each day as it comes. He loves being spontaneous. He also loves the fact that Lucky has caught his eye & he desperately wants to get to know her. When Lucky meets Zeppelin, her life as she knows it changes for the better. Zeppelin shows her that it's ok to live day to day even though she has her future all planned out. He brought fun and spontaneity into her life. But when things take a turn for the worse, what happens when two lives are forced apart?
I cannot express enough how much I LOVED this book. Many times while reading, I had butterflies fluttering in my belly. Then along the way my heart was torn apart and I was almost sobbing. I could not put this book down. The relationship between Lucky & Zep was intoxicating, steamy and deep. They were beautiful together. Two lives were changed forever the moment they met.
If you are looking for an enticing, meaningful, steamy love story with many emotions, please consider "Always Beautiful". You won't be disappointed. Thank you M.K. Oien for an AWESOME story! I'm looking forward to reading any future novels.

You know how people say that life isn’t always beautiful? To me, I think life is always beautiful. Things can suck sometimes and shit happens, but if you try hard enough, you find the beauty in the ugly.
Twenty one year old Lucille Harris (she prefers to be called by her nickname Lucky) moved from her hometown of Medford to Portland to attend college. She moved in with her cousin Dixon, she was studying to become a Cytotechnologist (examining the changes in cells).Lucky was also going to be close to her best friend Hannah. Lucky also loved fast cars hers included 1966 Coronet 500 it was her baby. She also loved drag racing and had done it herself numerous times. Lucky had her life planned out, she had to prepare for school and dreams to work on. She had no other time for anything else. Those plans did not include one Zeppelin Rhodes.
Zeppelin Rhodes (named after the famous band Led Zeppelin), bad boy, covered in multi colored tattoos, blue eyes, killer smile. He also had a passion for cars his 1967 cherry red Pontiac GTO, he was also an underground fighter and enjoyed drag racing. Zeppelin moved back to Portland after attending school for business in Seattle. Zeppelin did not plan for the future he was the type of guy who lives in the moment.
Damn, he is hot! Yeah he is. Like serious lady boner over here.
June 2012(summer) is when Lucky first meets Zeppelin….there first encounter occurred when Zeppelin came to the apartment looking for Dixon, you could say they were both instantly attracted to one another, his eyes traveled down her body and back up. Her face flamed up after being caught for checking him out as well. Little did they know that this summer encounter would forever change there lives.
Everything was perfect between Lucky and Zeppelin, they shared there love for cars, racing, spending time with there friends, you could say they were inseparable. Lucky began to notice a change in Zeppelin’s mood, he seemed off, when questioned he would say he was fine. Lucky began to wonder what he was hiding and why he couldn’t trust her. She started to question herself, the relationship, was what they felt for one another not important enough for him to share with her.
I’m not sure I can do this. You’re all I think about and god, I’ve imagined this more times than I can count. What if I’m not good enough, what if I don’t make you feel good?
You have my heart Angel, you own every shitty part of me. I don’t want you, I fucking need you.
What is Zeppelin hiding from Lucky? You think you may have a feeling of what it is, I was completely wrong to what I thought it was.
How will the secret affect Lucky…can she move past it and forgive Zeppelin? Can there relationship survive and move past it?
Always Beautiful was just that Beautiful, it deserves more than five stars. A well written story that starts out in present time and then moves to the past, you’ll learn how a summer romance changed the lives of two people, how one person always had her life planned out and how someone can come into that life and change it forever. Keep some tissue near by your going to need it during some emotional parts.
**arc provided for an honest review** The story of Zeppelin and Lucky is heartbreaking and beautifil at the same time. Lucky is so methodical in her life. Following the steps to get to her goal and never deviating from them. Zeppelin is the opposite. Live each day to its fullest and never look back. So when these two meet you don't think it's gonna last. He's the ultimate bad boy and she's the goodie two shoes. So when they start to get addicted to each other's company, you can't help but love how they balance each other out. How he's not really the bad boy but this great, amazing, super romantic man. Lucky is truly lucky with this BBF. I mean she's pretty kick ass herself. She's like every man's wet dream. So when things start to get fishy, I honestly thought MK was going to write the typical story line that he was cheating. Boy was I wrong. Not even freaking close. If it was a game of hot/cold, I was in the freaking ice box I was so wrong. I cried. That was my reaction to Zeppelins reality. Not only his reality but his reaction to Lucky. I did, I cried. I cried with her, for her, for him, for the reality of the story of people who really live with that. It's heart wrenching. And lucky is so strong. How she fights. What she does. She is so strong at such a young age. She becomes his strength. And they are each other's worlds. I love the switch from memories to reality. I was a little confused about her choice in dresses but was glad that was cleared up and what it was for. I love the way this book was written. It truly is heartbreaking and beautiful, but one that you know you will read more than once.
There is one word to describe the way I feel about this book, it's perfect.
Lucky is exactly the way that I was at 21. She has her life planned out, she knows what she wants, when she wants it, and what she has to do to get it.
Then she meets Zeppelin.
Zeppelin is the opposite. He is impulsive, tattooed, and has a secret.
The chemistry between these two is just amazing. There is a scene early on in the book during an underground fighting match, that had my heart pounding. Not because of the fighting, although the author did a wonderful job pulling me into the story, but at the way that Lucky and Zeppelin's chemistry oozed out of the pages!
I love how this book is written. It starts off present day and flashes back to moments when Lucky and Zeppelin first met, their first date, and the first time they said goodbye.
There are times that you think to yourself, "I know what's going to happen." Yet I promise you, it doesn't turn out the way you think it does.
M.K. Oien wrote an amazing story here. One full of love, admiration, pain, and determination.
When I finished the book (after purposely putting it down so I didn't finish it, I wasn't ready for it to end), I literally just sat there for a few minutes thinking about it. Very rarely does a book bring out so many emotions in me...that's exactly what this one did.
Lucy, "Lucky" Harris has always planned her life out. She was to move in with her cousin Dixon in Portland, look for an apartment, and start medical school in the fall. Lucky practically accounted for everything she did. Living with her cousin exposed her to underground fighting. Then there was car racing but she was familiar with it since high school. It was exciting to watch and she didn't count on meeting Zeppelin Rhoades. He was so hot and had lots of tattoos!! Lucky was cautious and overthinking situations. Being around Zeppelin started to change that. She found herself having fun and being carefree. They soon started spending a lot of time together. Things were going great between them until Zeppelin started to act distant. He wouldn't tell her why he needed to leave to Seattle at random times. Can Lucky trust him or is Zeppelin setting her up for heartbreak?
Oh Lucky and Zeppelin...sigh. This book was so amazing! I was instantly drawn to Lucky. I fell for Zeppelin. The author really did a great job with the characters. I couldn't put the book down! I laugh; I cried. Anyone who reads this will not be disappointed. A truly great read that I highly recommend!

This story was very heartfelt and the love story was beautiful. There were some errors, which put a wrinkle in my enjoyment, but the plot overshadowed them and allowed me to read on.
I gave this 3 stars for plot, decent love scenes and flow.
I enjoyd reading "really, really". I was afraid for couple, due my inkling what´s going on with Zepp. I was right, and it was emotional to me, love, pain, passion, calm and .... no spoiler, so you have to read this book :-)
This book was wonderful. I fell in love with Zeppelin (yes that is his name) and Lucky (real name Lucille). Zeppelin is a tattooed underground fighter who also does street races with his cherry Pontiac GTO. He appears to be a hot bad boy.
Lucky is the total opposite of Zeppelin. She has a plan and has always had one. She knows what she wants from life and how and when she is going to get it.
They briefly met, like a passing in the night, at her cousin Dixon's place where she is staying. Then her best friend Hannah talked her into going to an underground fight where Zeppelin would be fighting. This time when their eyes met there was an instant attraction. Things move fast from there.
Lucky's friend was always telling her to loosen up and now she was. Zeppelin always said to live in the moment. As their time together goes on Lucky feels he is holding back something. This is where things really ramp up. Sometimes when you keep something from someone you tell yourself it is to protect them. When it really is being selfish.
I can't say anymore without giving something away. This book becomes so emotional. You will need the tissues more than once but it is all worth it. This is really a sweet and tender love story where love really does conquer all.
M.K. Oien did a beautiful job with this book. I loved it from the beginning to the end. The characters draw you in and make you feel their pain.
Lucy aka Lucky is out to start her life the way she wants it. She moves in with her cousin in order to help start it. Everything is going good. But, there is one thing that changes her.
His name is Zeppelin.
Zeppelin races his car and fights in underground fights. He is the embodiment of a bad boy.
But just when you think you know how the story ends. A twist is thrown in.
Pick up Always Beautiful by M.K. Oien to find out how Lucky's life changes not just with Zeppelin, but after him.
The author has grown in her writing and this is even better then her debut novel. I like the characters and enjoyed the story line. I really wanted more from the secondary characters. The conversation around the campfire with all the friends was great and I would have loved some more of that. While zep was away getting treatment, we were mostly inside lucky's head and there was not a lot of action. I like a good balance between the two. Overall a good read.
I found this to be an ok read. It's your typical bad boy falls for the virginal girl NA book. The story never captivated me, and I never really felt the fall. I think that is most enjoyable aspect of the NA genre, the falling in love. It causes the reader to flush with anticipation, blush, giggle, and possibly get butterflies. As a reader I want to swoon. But I didn't feel that type of connection here. Things felt rushed and predictable. I knew what was going to happen within the first descriptions of odd behavior.
This is the first book that I have read of Ms Oien's, but it certainly won't be the last! I was absolutely taken from the first page.
The characters are full and well rounded. The story pulls you in and keeps you there. What you think of as a typical story is anything but that. The twist took me completely by surprise and held me until the last page! Ms Oien is an author I will be reading more of.
Before reading this book, I checked out the reviews and thought I was in for a treat tho I guess I'm the minority because it was just an ok book.. Unusually I wasn't sucked in within the first few pages, tho the cars sounded amazing! Took me a while to read to, and didn't feel the urge to finish the story. Without giving the story away, I really liked Zeppelins journey and struggles he had to overcome.
Always Beautiful by M.K. Oien was an enjoyable and easy read. The development of Lucky, the lead female character, was written in a noteworthy manner. However, I wish I could have learned more about Zeppelin, the lead male character, and the development of him. Always Beautiful was slightly predictable, and a little cheesy at times but by the end of the book you will truly be suprised. M.K. Oien throws in a twist that no reader will expect.
Prepare yourself for big alligator tears with this emotional story. So much passion. This was so heart warming and gives you an idea of what true soul mates feel when they've found each other.
Nice, sweet and quick read. It was heartbreaking at times with everything that was happening. Secrets were kept, there was lots of humor. I personally found it had to vet into the characters.
