Gifted Trust-The Prelude

Rate this book
This excerpt is from the novel Gifted Trust-Revised Edition
In 1930 Max Belote, a Dallas literary agent, heard the voice of Virago. “Tell her, just be good,” it whispered and he’d repeat before mutilating or killing his victim. Wanting to stop the evil entity inside him, Max ended his life. In 1970 convicted serial murderer Jeffrey Michael Roberts also heard the words, and until his execution he fulfilled its desires. In 2003 Virago spoke to Edward Paine, a high school teacher, who sought help to destroy the creature within. One soul, three lives, and the evil entity that commands them.

- from the author of Dark Blessings, Monkey Love, Weeping Mary and House Guest, John Paul Allen shares his most frightening tale.

Death is not the end... It’s a brief interruption.

Really good book to read

I like that the book was just full of surprises and the stories kept me in a suspense and shocking mode. The last story was just something I can't even describe but it was interesting. I recommend this book for those who have a liking in twisted and creepy stories.

This was recommended to me by another horror author. He warned me. Did I listen?
Sort of.
I started reading it and thought, "Oh, this is not that bad" (as in gore or bad things happening).
Then hell broke loose.
The two people swept up in the events that followed, I felt very sorry for.
By the time it was over, all I could wounder is, "If this is the prelude, my God, what is the rest of it like?"
I'm looking to read more of Allen's work.
But I warn you...have a strong stomach.
