a decent set of stories with alongside translations for spanish learners. some of them did a better job than others at covering vocabulary relevant to beginner Spanish learners. some were kind of strange and a bit awkward (there’s a story about a woman being diagnosed with hepatitis where like, every paragraph the woman is described as anxious and tired, and the doctor is constantly described as enthusiastic and smiling, and then one where another woman randomly gets kidnapped lmao). also some of the English translations read a little clunky, and there didn’t always seem to be rhyme or reason to what vocabulary, phrases, and grammatical conventions were explained vs what was just translated paragraph by paragraph.

but overall a good tool and I do think it was helpful in improving my spanish literacy

This is a very short collection of short stories. What I like best about the book, is that it is very readable on an e-reader. It is a dual-language reader; first a paragraph in Spanish, followed by the English translation. The translations seem to be accurate.

The stories themselves are not very entertaining. They start out at a very beginner's level, and progressively get a bit more difficult. The stories are quite banal, except for one strange story about a kidnapping.
