Rate this book
Raised by his mother and tutor, young Theseus finally learns the truth of his birth: he is the son of King Aegeus, ruler of Athens. Armed with his father’s shield, he sets out to claim his birthright and face his greatest challenge—the Minotaur, a savage beast who is half-man, half-bull. To defeat the Minotaur, Theseus must enter the Labyrinth, a bewildering maze from which no one has ever escaped alive. Will Theseus succeed in his quest? Or will he suffer the fate of the Minotaur’s many other victims?

Very good introduction to this important Greek legend - both children and adults will enjoy this book. Easy to understand with fantastic art - I look for the books in this series whenever I go to the used bookstore by my house. This is a great series that will be both entertaining and educational for a child.

While the main story is the battle with the Minotaur (a common enough tale in the world of Greek Mythology), I love that this book gives more back story to Theseus, how he came to find his father and his adventures before traveling to Crete.

It also doesn't go into the darker parts of the myth such as what Theseus did to Ariadne, his father's suicide, or Medea's conclusion. This is fit for a middle school audience.

“Theseus: Battling the Minotaur”
The minotaur was the son of a human king and a human woman, but somehow was born mutated!
Why must the heros feel compelled to kill all the beasts?

Very good series giving a generalised overview of the predominant myths and legends that have shaped our worldviews.

Another great "Graphic Universe" adaptation. I think they are best when doing these Greek myths but all that I have read have been good. For a short book a lot is packed in but it doesn't feel crowded. Of course, a lot is left out because of the size but it should encourage people to read the whole story.

Theseus is the son of a king. the king has to send 7 boys to Crete for tribute. Theseus tells his dad to send him so he can try to defeat the task he's given in Crete. if he wins, Crete will no longer demand tribute.

This was so good, I was surprised that The Minotaur was the son of Minos and Pasiphaë. Well done Theseus for saving your country, Athens. You knew you could be king like your father Aegeus did.

That was pretty decent, the fight was a bit above average and the graphism is also above average

English is not my first language that when I read a book that is written by english, it is very important to find the book that is right level for me, and I could understand. This book was one of the graphic novel book that it was easy to understand. Also, Thesus had very hard travel, and he made it throw it, and he become a king. However, he's dad, the king was died. It was great moment and saddest moment combined in one situation that I liked it

Part of a collection of Mythology Graphic Novels I picked up for my classroom. Good for helping to build background knowledge but not necessarily great. Kids will devour these.
