Emily Rodda (real name Jennifer Rowe) was born in Sydney, Australia and graduated from the University of Sydney in 1973 with an MA (Hons) in English Literature. Moving into a publishing career, first as a book editor, and finally as a publisher at Angus & Robertson, Rodda's first book was published in 1984.

I was about... I want to say 8-10 years old when I read this series. I'm not entirely sure. Feels so long ago.
What I do remember is these were the kinds of books I would read to escape into a fantasy world. It was absolutely magical. I felt so alive reading them.
I believe this series may have planted the seeds of my love of reading. Maybe it even planted the seeds of my fascination with the fantasy genre.
I highly recommend it as a children's book series.

Dude, I read almost all of these when I was a kid! I remembered these in bed last night, and I initially thought it was "Emily of Blue Moon" but that's a book by LM Montgomery and so I went to Google and searched "blue moon fairy grandmother charm bracelet" and BAM! there we go!!!
These were the best, and I remember reading them over and over!!!

I read these when I was very little, and they still mean something very special to me. I wouldn't be reading like I am today if not for these books. They are so wonderful, for children and everyone else just to be pulled into the magical world that surrounds Jessie
