Simple presentation of this important myth...great 'jumping off' point for more in depth study when you wish to go further. Key to understanding Egyptian mythology; the story of Isis and Osiris is key to so many of the other Egyptian myths. The art very much fits this particular telling of the story. Great for kids!

“Isis and Osiris”
Osiris: “While I was dead the gods gave me the task of judging those who enter the afterlife.”

Very good series giving a generalised overview of the predominant myths and legends that have shaped our worldviews.

I had heard this myth referenced but hadn't read it before - this seems like a good simplified version to introduce young readers to the mythology and culture of ancient Egypt.

Quick guide to the legend

Quick guide to the legend. A good introduction to the legend. Well drawn and plotted. Not sure about re-read value.

1) the category that this book fits under on the bingo board is "A Graphic Novel".

2) I decided to read this book because I needed to read a graphic novel and this book caught my eye, as I'm interested in mythology and legends.

3) I liked how it was short, sweet, and to the point. It was condensed into a 10 minute read, leaving out boring bits of the original story and making no room for error. The pictures enhanced my perception of what was going on during the book, and they went very well with the writing.

4) There wasn't much to dislike about the book, though it may have been a bit to brief in some places, and the condition of the book wasn't so good.

5) I would recommend this book to anyone who needs to kill 10 minutes in a productive and interesting way.

I liked this book. It is about two brothers. One is Osiris. He is the king and he is loved. The other brother is Set. He is jealous of the love that Osiris receives so he kills Osiris and spreads his body around. But Osiris wife Isis loves him so much that she finds his body and she brings him back to life. I think that this story was great. It showed how the power of love can bring you back to life. I think that is beautiful. This story also shows how hate is dangerous. The pictures in this story are really good.

It's pretty good. It introduces the reader to the story of Isis and Osiris, two Gods in the Ancient Egyptian Myth, but it doesn't tell their whole story, just part of it. I would have liked it more if it revealed the whole story, but for being the part it is, the writer and artists did great jobs.

It's a perfect intro for those just getting into Ancient Egyptian Mythology, and the only fault I can really pin on it is the Map at the beginning of the book. It's a MODERN map, while in the times the story was set, Egypt was a MUCH larger place.
