I've been savoring this wonderful book. It contains so much detailed knowledge about shamanic and other rituals and especially the traditional, myth-based art that accompanied ritual. Very close reading is required and rewarded. As many art lovers know, art has spiritual origins and that is the angle of approach for this book, which is so well-written and expresses such admiration for the work, it reads at times like poetry. The photograph illustrations are of very high quality and do the subject justice.
