After the Dance is Over
With love on the horizon for their children, but sabotage just around the corner, two friends fight for those they love... while having a blast, of course.
In After the Dance is Over , Joan Jonker brings us another instalment of her hugely popular Molly and Nellie series, as the two friends get up to more mischief in their beloved Liverpool. Perfect for fans of Dilly Court and Katie Flynn.
'There's something for everyone and all delivered up in that inimitable Jonker style which is guaranteed to delight her large number of fans' - Middlesborough Evening Gazette
There's never a dull moment when Nellie McDonough and Molly Bennett get together, and there's always something to keep them busy in their Liverpool street. First, Molly's son Tommy sets the date for his wedding to Rosie O'Grady, and everyone's saving hard to ensure their day is perfect. Then a new family arrive in the area and their daughter is determined to put a stop to the budding romance between Nellie's son Paul and Phoebe Corkhill. Meanwhile, Molly's daughter Doreen and her husband Phil make an announcement, and Nellie and Molly are determined to track down Phil's long lost family, so that they can share in the joyful news...

You can’t help but get involved in Joan Jonkers books. As you follow them you feel like you are part of the community and the characters lives as they unfold. If only communities were like that now. Reading one of Joan’s books is like talking with my Nan about how it was with her and her best friend Lizzie and their families throughout the war and after. Just wish there were more to read

The Molly and Nellie series by Joan Jonker is my "go to" series of books for when I just want to relax and feel good about what I am reading. After the Dance is Over is book 5 in the series and it did not disappoint. Even though I have completed 5 of these books in just a few months, I do not tire of them or of the characters. One of Ms. Jonker's strengths is in bringing the characters to life. The time and setting is also so very well-depicted. I know I will be sad when I complete the final book in the series and I will need to say goodbye to these special characters.

great friends Nellie and Molly. love reading about their antics. Nellie is a character. its a pity Joan Jonker is no longer here, I wished Nellie and Molly books could have gone on. pity no one would take over and see them grow older and their children.
